Good products but appaling and misleading custumer service.
I've ordered a overclocked bundle from overclockers.co.uk and payed extra for that, it took 2 weeks and 3 phone calls for the bundle to be dispatched rather than the (24 to 48 hours they advertise). When this arrived the motherboard was configured to its default configuration and not overclocked at all. The hard drive I ordered was faulty. Proceeded to request a RMA witch was sent to overclockers in September. On the 2nd of October overclockers had tested the hard drive and found it faulty so they issued a second order number (3457995) and it should have been shipped. Its now the 14th of November and I haven't received the order when yesterday I rang custumer support the only thing they missed was to yell at me. It is unbeleivable how a company like this is still in business. Having asked to speak to a manager I was told that managers don't speak to custumers and the custumer needs to log a webnote on their webpage to complain. What kind of company has managers that don't speak to custumers?
Stay away from this company no matter what, its a disaster.

Have made a lot of orders costing a lot of money from overclockers.co.uk and have never had a bad experience with goods coming well packaged and timely. Have also successfully RMA'd the odd item with no problem refunds (hey, it's rarely a *retailer's* fault that a *manufacturer's* products can be faulty). Very surprised by the number of negative reviews. I buy from these guys as happily as I do from ebuyer.com or amazon.

Great if you get working parts, if not you are screwed.
Ordered a complete PC from them and recieved it next day... then the pain started Graphics card turned out to be faulty, no problem I thought Ill get them to pick it up under the 1 Year Onsite Collect & Return Warranty. Call them up for an RMA wait in queue for 12mins and get told if they identify the part that is faulty then onsite collect and return doesn't apply. Argue with the support staff and get no joy. WTF!!!
So anyway I duly fork out £8 for parcelforce next day delivery packaging it up as they require (unmarked brown box with lots of packing). Parcelforce confirms delivery next day but their website says 'not delivered'.
Call up their customer service wait in queue for 22 mins get fobbed off with 'It will be dealt with today'.
Look back next day still says 'not delivered', call them up again (at 10am) wait in queue for another 22mins.
Repeat above loop for next 2 days.
Still waiting for an update with a £1000 paperweight sitting at home.

Overclockers is one of many online shops I use, including ebuyer, scan, chilledpc, etc. I always shop around for the right product at the right price and Overclockers have often been the top choice to provide what I want, when I want it for the best price. You also get free next day delivery if you are a forum member.
All of the companies I have dealt with have given good and bad service at one time or another. In my view none are better or worse than each other.
Overclockers does tend to suffer from the marmite effect more than others. It also caters to a more hard-core technical crowd then many online stores who would never bother to review an online store. It could be something else of course but not as far as I have experienced. :) This review was modified by its author, Biffa, on

My last web order from this place was december 18th 08 and took 3 weeks to arrive despite being marked as in stock when ordered. Due to xmas break I had no contact whatsoever until after january.
Following this fiasco I resolved to only buy from these clowns if I went in person.
Since then Ive placed 6 shop orders (purely down to price), one was clearly not what was advertised (totally wrong model of gfx card), on another occaision I had to explain to the kid behind the till what an SLI bridge was, and on the final occaision I bought the last Foxconn Bloodrage board they had in stock, got it home and found it had been opened and used.
Returns are a joke and takes weeks to complete. They take your money within seconds on a web order, when they later find one of the frequent stock mistakes on their website youre left waiting 2 weeks or more for a refund.
Buy B grade at your peril - I've been sold a standard 4850 512mb instead of the 4850 GS 1024mb that was advertised and had to threaten legal action to get a refund. They try and enforce a sold as seen policy on clearance and b grade items despite it being unenforceable and in breach of Sale of Goods act 1984.
In short, rude, unhelpful and have little to no product knowledge besides what they make their best margins on.
Was great fun listening to them tell some guy who clearly didnt know any better than zalman thermal grease was the best in the world and easily beat all others by at least 5c. Oh and guess what, its on offer this week isnt that lucky?
They are everything a shop should not be. Such a polar opposite to the likes of scan, ebuyer and specialtech that you wonder how on earth theyve been trading as long as they have.
Don't buy from these morons unless you have no alternative and can go there in person and check your purchases before you leave. I'd also recommend against using cash and use card with some form of legal protection on it - a phone call from your credit card company soon sorts them out.

I have used OcUK many many times and have never had cause for complaint. Orders are shipped promptly and well packaged. Customer service is excellent, fast and polite.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE GUYS!
Their sales staff haven't got a clue, their support staff are rude and unhelpful and their returns policies are downright ILLEGAL!
You have to threaten legal action to get them to do anything other than take your money!

They asked me for several documents to validate my order. I said that I wanted to cancel it (I don't own a scanner).
Meanwhile they charged my credit card !
My order is still "waiting security validation" on their website.
I'm waiting for refund and it better be quick.
For now all I'm receiving from them is more or less automated and pre-redacted e-mails. This review was modified by its author, vento, on

Ordered most of a new system from OcUK. Got the order a couple of days later. Quite happy with both prices and service.

I've used Overclockers.co.uk for several years and they've always exceeded my expectations.
They are very reliable and very efficient.
I always recommend them to friends who need the best components. Feedback from friends is always positive.

Awful Awful company to deal with!!!!!
I ordered a monitor with them as a present for my boyfriend.
It was delivered damaged (box had been dropped on its corner and had very obvious crack in the cardboard) which is obviously not Overclockers fault but the couriers. I thought Id try the monitor anyway and I figured if its not working thats what they/the couriers have insurance for.
Monitor didnt work and I asked for a replacment. They said they wouldnt send out the replacement until the orignal was sent back (fair enough) and I would have to send it back myself as they were having "problems" with the couriers. I decided I wasnt willing to hand out the £35+vat for DHL to bring it back and I insisted they send the couriers themselves as they were able to send them out to deliver items. I was told 3 days in a row that they were coming the next day to collect it and in the end I had to demand they send a courier and after sitting on hold for another half hour I decided to get a refund as I realised I was just being messed about. They sent the courier to the wrong address even tho i specifically stated it was my work they had to come to.
Trading Standards assured me that under the distance selling act I was entitled to a full refund including delivery charges as the item delivered was faulty. When they were processing my refund they first refused to give me delivery charges and then couldnt (wouldnt) give me an exact refund amount. I had to quote the Trading Standards distance selling act to them!
They are a bunch of ignorant smug idiots (with the exception of 1 of the tech support team) and I will never buy off them again!
If only I could get compensation for the money I spent calling them which amounted to almost £100!!!!
I think they must work on commission for most money not handed back to entitled customers!

I have used this company to build many complete performance systems over several years now. The goods have always arrived the next day and have always been as specified.
In all that time I've had 2 faulty items, both beyond OCUK control (i.e. retail boxed). One set of headphones with faulty wiring, and a power supply that wouldn't boot a system that it really should have coped with. Both have been promptly refunded after raising an RMA.
On another occasion I ordered the wrong part, phoned them up and they quickly changed the order over the phone.
I have recommended them to a number of friends without any complaints.
Sometimes you can buy slightly cheaper elsewhere, but rarely can you get such up to date gear, and delivered within a few hours.

I used these very recently to buy a Custom PC off them. They are god-awful.
For one, they lie to their customers and try to wiggle out of refunds and shipping charges. The PC I got was sent to me faulty, it had to go back and I was duly promised that the shipping costs would be covered by themselves, but I had to pay up front
This wasn't the case as it seems, as they disputed the receipt and the shipping charges, saying it was too expensive to refund, despite their customer service telling me it would be refunded. This is also despite that I have the courier telling me OC shouldn't be disputing the receipt.
PC Also comes back to me after being "Fixed" and is once again, faulty. I asked for a full refund, was refused on grounds of the PC being custom built, had to quote a consumer law to remind them their obligation, and then was told that they would accept my refund, with exception to the shipping charges to ship it over. Quoted again and reminded them that because the PC was faulty, they have an obligation to refund me full, without myself incurring any additional charges.
So now I have that sorted. There's still the matter over the initial shipping costs however.
Do not use Overclockers, and here's why...
1: They lie
2: Constumers come second, profits first
3: They have no email function, only webnotes
4: Their customer support lines are all high premium numbers (Support isn't cheap nor is it free)
5: They have a bad bad reputation for sending out faulty goods
6: They treat you like shit when you are in a dispute with them
7: You need to know your rights as a consumer when dealing with cowboys like these
8:Their RMA system is out of date in relation to the status on their website, so your not kept updated
9: You will never have a problem getting through sales, you will through technical support or systems support
10: They do not fully test your PC, despite them saying they do. And they will blame any damages on the courier
Good Points:
1: Fast delivery
And thats it. Keep well away!
