This is the second time I've rented equipment from borrowlenses.com. Reserving the equipment went smoothly; the website is easy to go through; everything was clear. I live in the bay area and pick up at a local store. I like this because it is convenient not having to wait around for shipping. The way I understand it, the store guys don't have anything to do with borrowlenses.com? I had a question about the process and they had no clue how to answer it; they said I'd have to email the website. I know the actual store isn't really what this review is on but I must say I don't like having to deal with the people in there. In my experience, I found them to be rude, not really open to answering questions about camera related stuff (it's never busy in there btw), and unfriendly. And I'm always having to repeat whatever I'm saying like 5 times. Again, borrowlenses.com is EXCELLENT. Would definitely do business with them again. But the store I have to pick up from...not so great. Put a store in the East Bay! I really loved the lens I rented and would've bought a lens like it the day I returned it but I definitely don't want to give my business to that store.

This is the second time I have rented from Borrowlenses and I am extremely satisfied with the service and selection of lenses. I pick-up my rentals at Kaufmann's Cameras and the in-store staff have been very helpful. The entire process is hassle free and most convenient.

I reserved a Canon 85mm 1.8 lens and extension tubes for a 2 week rental. They were able to combine the shipping on the 2 items which helped a lot. Lenses were received in excellent conditions on the day requested. They made it very easy to return the lenses providing the shipping documents and packing materials. Will definitely rent from them again.  

I have been a Professional Photographer for over 19yrs and NEVER in my life have a encountered such a well rounded and professional office, crew, website and workers as I have had finding BorrowLenses.com In just a short period I have only rented 2 times and both times have been with GREAT Success.  
 
In every case I have recieved said ordered equipment without excuse , fault and blame. The First Order I had placed was to cover my own ass when my Canon 20D broke just days before an important shoot. Thanks to Max and Crew a camera and lens was shipped to the house I was staying at and my Shoot went perfectly.  
 
The next time I rented from Max and Crew at BorrowLeneses My 20D had not been returned from service and I wanted something alittle more powerful then the Canon 5D so I ordered the Mark III , but in the middle of the rental I was informed of a scheduling snafoo and we worked out an alternate rental equipment plan.  
 
No Other Company is like this. I will for the duration of my photography career use BorrowLenses.com for my Professional Needs.

Second time to borrow lens from them -- Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8. As always, great customer service from Jeff and Max. When I noticed that I was double-charged for the rental and informed them via email, Jeff got back to me within the hour, explained, apologized for the mistake and credited my card back right away.  
The only thing though --- the lens I got this time was not as good (probably older) as the first one I rented.  
1. The hood was not screwing properly to the lens.  
2. I couldn't get the tripod collar to secure in place. But I think it's just normal wear and tear.  
3. The lens (not the UV filter) was smeared when I received it. The lady from Kamera Korner (San Jose, where I picked it up) cleaned it for me though.  
 
Overall, I'm happy with my rental. Good customer service, reasonable price, and easy renting/returning process. I will definitely rent from them again. (Maybe even buy a lens from them!)

This is my third time renting from Borrowlenses.com and as usual, it has been a wonderful experience. The price is very good as the lens (I rented Canon the 28-105mm L IS) is very expensive. Everything went well. Just one thing I think they can improve on (but not such a big deal) is providing a time for pick-up for local pick-ups. I have never ordered for delivery so I cannot comment on that part. Customer service is very very helpful (as good as you can get). I will continue to rent from this site! And I recommend it to anybody.

Fast and friendly. Great communication, and willing to work with my needs, as opposed to what would make them the most money. Will definitely use them again.
