I purchased this Canon XSi on Cametas Ebay auction. It was (to me) not clear that this was a Factory REFURB. That's the bad. Now for the good. It had everything in the box except a memory card. Glenn Haberle from Cameta called me very quickly to confirm the purchase, NO pressure what so ever to buy extras, just a quick simple transaction. They willingly used my FedEx account which saved me a few bucks and got it here MUCH faster. The unit arrived in great shape, had one small issue with the lens contacts but that is a feature on these cameras and was easily fixed with a little contact cleaner and a cotton swab.  
 
Communication with Cameta via eMail is a absolute pleasure. I'd like to see a bit more info on the ebay auctions but I'm a happy customer and will be recommending them.

I ordered a Canon Rebel XS package deal. Great price, beat Best Buy by about $80 (the BB camera came with nothing extra) and it came with a 8gb sdhc card, a high speed card reader, a camera bag (it's actually pretty nice), a micro-fiber cleaning cloth, and an extra battery.  
It was delivered on time and well packaged. I will most likely buy from them again.  

A couple of months ago, I had purchased 3 items from this company from ebay and was satisfied with all aspects of the deal...price, shipping cost, communication, etc.  
 
My camera had or developed a dead pixel.  
 
I returned it and was very promptly sent a new one. No questions, no bs, just apologies and terrific customer service.  
 
They are apparently a well run company in a sea of bad ones these days.  
 
There will no hesitation from me to buy from them again.

Very nice dealer, I ordered a refub D300 form them through Amazon,it is like new!  
And what's more, after I find out that there's dust in the viewfinder, they offered me full refund 3 just days after I sent it back.  
I'll do business with them again in the future and also recommend them to my friends.

Placed an order through phone for an Ebay auction, and paid for it at the time. The next day when I got the e-mail invoice, it showed the battery grip as being back ordered. I called to see if the grip had been included with my order, but it was not. Unfortunately, they made no notice of this during the transaction, and didn't even hint at it. As the ebay auction describes, everything was supposed to be included, but the grip was not. They don't save items for auctions, They just sell them cheaper as kits on ebay. thanks for the warning Cameta!  
 
Good Seller, but is it that hard to let me know that the item is back ordered?  
 
AND! I already paid for the item. Hopefully it will be shipped for free, and asap.  
 
 
Still have not gotten the grip as of Nov. 12th. Hopefully I will get it next week. If not, boo you Cameta.  
 
As a final note, Cameta is a great company, just don't order anything backordered!

i've been scammed hard by brooklyn stores before so i'm quite wary of online sales but i read good reviews here as i do before buying anything online these days, and thought i'd give them a try. i bought a D300 Nikon with an 18-200mm Nikkor lens with a Nikon 2 year extended warranty on the camera, as well as a new coolpix p80 package.  
 
The salesman was not pushy at all and we went around a few times with different configurations of packages to get the lowest price. he asked about warranties which i wanted and even so was not at all pushy about it. very friendly and knowledgeable. just got me what i wanted.  
 
i got confirmation of order, shipping confirmation, and invoice all in a timely manner. camera arrived promptly as ordered, well packed, and new as described.  
 
great experience. great prices, highly recommended. i'd shop there again.

What a pleasant surprise. Like many of you I knew what I wanted yet was amazed by all the hype and across-the-board prices. So I made my way to Amazon and saw the best prices for my needs (Nikon D80, D200, Batt holders, and other items) were at Cameta. I am leary of Ebay anymore so I did some more research, some of it here. I called them and spoke with Enzo. Quite Nikon-savvy and very helpful. I chose on the spot to order from him. He took the order making suggestions along the way. No hype, no pressure. Had everything in stock. As it was a thursday he said the order would go out monday. Friday I got an email from the billing dept that my CC had been denied. I called and spoke again with a real professional. Went to the bank, got a one time release on the daily cap and the lady ran it for me right while I was standing in the bank. Success. She was as pleased as I was. Congratulated me on my purchase and wished me happiness with my new stuff. Can you imagine? Anyway, I guess what I am trying to say is that in this time of govermental ripoff and fluid truths, it is refreshing to do business with a group of professionals that does what it says it is going to do. Addendum-Monday I got the invoice email. One piece was backordered. Called tuesday and was told the item had come in and was shipped that day free. All but the one piece arrived in two days. The last item will be here today (three days) Nicely done!

As a recent high school graduate, I had asked my parents for a new camera (Nikon D40 actually). They gave me the 'ok' nod and that's when I started doing some research. I looked at various websites for the best deal and at the time, there was this too-good-to-be-true package on eBay. Then my friend suggested to me that a lot of eBay items especially cameras were grey market items. So then I turned to Amazon.com which seemed quite reliable as I had ordered numerous school supplies from there in the past. The Cameta Camera package stood out like a sore thumb! Nikon D40 with an 18-55, 55-200VR, 4GB SDHC card and card reader, a cleaning kit, and a Nikon travel bag. All of this for a only $678 (shipping fee included) I even called CametaCamera the day before I purchased the camera to make sure that the 55-200mm lense was in fact VR. (It was) The person who I talked to was very straightforward and polite. I tracked the progress of the package online every single day. One downfall was that the shipment was delayed by UPS because of fires, but that's UPS's fault not CametaCamera's. My package arrived yesterday and everything that was advertised online was included. Everything was secure and unopened. Everything works fine (so far). I'm very glad that I ordered from Cameta Camera. I would definitely recommend this store to any photographer looking for a new camera or accessories.

While searching online for a Nikon D40 body I came across Cameta Camera. Since I only needed the D40 body, they offered exactly what I needed. I was lucky enough to win an eBay auction for the exact item and paid promptly. The body was shipped very fast and received in no time. The total experience was very satisfying and I recommend Cameta to anyone.

Ordered a Nikon D60 DSLR kit package w/ 2 lenses, 18-55 mm AF-S VR, and 55-200 mm AF-S VR, both zoom-nikkor. Also came with Nikon bag, spare battery, SD card reader, image recovery software, and microfiber cleaning cloth.  
Very affordable price of $830- considering the body alone goes for $650 in some places.  
 
Cameta shipped the next day- I didnt even request any fancy shipping. I received everything 3 days after I ordered.  
 
Very satisfied. Everything is authentic Nikon products. Also came with some warranties. Everything works great.

Ordered a refurbished (factory demo) XTI Camera w/Kit Lens from their Ebay auction web store. Came with everything they advertised. Came with the Kit Lens, Lens Cleaner, Camera Body and everything works fine, and a certificate for a 1 year warranty from Cameta. i haven't used the free 50 Prints they offer through clarkphoto but other than that everything else came in order.

I ordered a tripod a few weeks ago and it arrived as promised without any problem. The tripod was too big and heavy. I requested a return and shipped it back within the return policy period. The return was handled very fast and I received the refund notice. I highly recommend Cameta Camera.

Ordered the following accessories through Amazon for a Sony A350: Transcend 8GB 133x CompactFlash (CF) Memory Card with USB 2.0 Card Reader + Universal Memory Card Case + 5-Piece Cleaning Kit. Cost was $59.95 plus $9.95 S&H.  
 
Everything was satisfactory and I was kept informed about the progress of the shipping including the timely notice that it had left the store. Only objection I had was that in comparison to others the S&H is about $3 too high.
