When I believe a company is worthy of a scathing report, I share my views. So, naturally, when a company is worthy of praise, I share that too. In my many experiences with purchases from Cameta Camera, I have found the company and ALL of it's employee's to be nothing but professional and "top drawer". Their service is outstanding and I would (and have) highly recommended this store to others looking for high-quality items at decent prices, backed by their good word. Case in point. I purchased a Nikon D300 camera from Cameta last year. The transaction went smoothly and I was enjoying the camera when I started having problems with it wanting to shut down at will. I called Cameta, and even though the return date had passed, they requested I return the camera for an exchange. Well, right away, I thought there must be some "catch". I'm thinking, "yeah, sure, they will give me a refurbished camera". So, I explained I didn't want a refurbished camera, I wanted a new replacement. Without blinking an eye, the customer service person assured me it would be a new camera. I returned the camera and I have to say, when I tracked the package, I saw that the exact day Cameta received my camera they sent out the new one. I had my new camera within a couple of days of returning it to them. A brand new replacement, no questions asked! I was (and am) amazed by this company and it's employees. They are honest, hard working people and deserve to be pointed out as such. In today's work environment and the way so many companies try to nickel and dime you to death, this company stands on it's commitment to good customer service at fair prices and in my book...it delivers all of that and more. Thank you Cameta Camera. I am a customer for life. I've got my eye on another camera and will be ordering from you very soon :)

Before ordering my Olympus E-520 Kit I did extensive research on the internet as to not only which DSLR would suit me but which was the best place to buy it from. Cameta Camera had the best combination of value, price and reviews. My main source for judging the vendor was this website. There were only a handful of complaints compared to hundreds of stellar reports.  
 
There was a common thread to the complaints. They were all concerning items that were back-ordered. Thus when I ordered my kit through Amazon, which showed only 1 available, I became very nervous when the item showed up out of stock at Amazon shortly after my order. I was worried that I would end up in Back Order Hell.  
 
It takes two days for Cameta to process orders. During that time I made a pest out of myself by calling up constantly and asking "Is the order going to ship? Are there any problems? When will it ship? When will I get it?"  
 
The Customer Service lady on the other end was very patient and she did her best to help me. Not once did she ever act like I was a pest, even though I was. She treated me with courtesy every time I called.  
 
Unfortunately, one of the two lenses that I ordered went on back order. I wasn't notified of this until the order shipped, and I found out later that the Customer Service lady had no way of knowing ahead of time about the back order. After three weeks of waiting for the lens to come in, they offered to substitute a better, albeit refurbished, lens to replace the one I had ordered. I jumped on that deal.  
 
I am very happy with the service they gave me and would recommend them. I will ding them slightly for the way they told me the lens was back ordered. I would have preferred that they notify me right away about the back order, rather than having to find out by looking at the invoice of the shipped order. I realize that estimates are hard to make, but it would have been nice if they had said something like "If your lens does not come in by such and such date, we will offer the following remediation(s)..."  
 
I expect to do more business with them, and now that I know they are on the up and up, I won't be such a pest next time...;)

I have ordered a couple of items from this company this month, the prices are fair, the item arrives quickly and is as it was advertised, I would have no problem recommending Cameta Camera to a friend

I ordered a Factory Demo Nikon D60 package off of thier Ebay site.(Nothing looked even used when I opened it up everything was in MINT condition) I had some questions and called in. Customer Service was GREAT! Answered all my questions, very knowledgeable. Told me I could order it right on the phone so I did.  
 
No pushy sales tactics here. The salesman (Mike B) was very helpful and friendly. Got my order in, told me when it would ship and asked if he could do anything else.  
 
Excellent Customer Service, Fast shipping (Ordered on Saturday and received on Wednesday)  
 
Kit arrived as described and very well packed. Could not ask for anything more. I will definately buy from them for my camera needs from now on!

Purchased a Nikon 105mm F/2.8 VR USA w/5 year warranty for them. ($869.00 + shipping) Then they said the lens that was for sale was found damaged when they opened the box from Nikon. Said they notified Nikon for a replacement but it was "Backordered" I waited 4 weeks for a replacement. No information given on when the item was due to arrive. Basically they said, wait indefinitely, or get your money back. This was purchased with a Paypal 8% off coupon, and I don't think they want to honor the coupon through paypal and came up with this excuse. Now a month later they have the same lens for sale on ebay. So it was never damaged or backordered. This place is a scam, another crooked Brooklyn store. Buyer Beware. I should have used B%H or Adorama. They have alot of good reviews because they sell a lot of cheap inexpensive stuff. I am filing a complaint with Nikon too.

I ordered a Sigma SD14 package from Cameta Camera using Amazon- they had the best price by about $150 :)- ,and I am impressed with their great customer service. I got the camera quickly ,but I had a problem with the LCD screen. I called them up; they apologized and told me to send it back. They paid for shipping and mailed me a new camera the day they received the defective one! Very pleased with my Sigma SD14 ,and if you're looking to invest in one cameta seems to have the best price anywhere.

They were very courteous and accommodating. I made an error on a "buy it now" purchase. I didn't read the description carefully and I ordered something I didn't want or need. I called Cameta and they quickly corrected my mistake without any fuss.  
 
I'll be back for my future photography needs.

As you know, the Canon 5d Mark II is in very short supply right now... it's backordered everywhere. I noticed Cameta's auctions on Ebay advertising in-stock Mark II's, but I was dubious.  
 
I first looked them up here at reseller ratings... very good score. I figured I'd give them a chance. I called up to inquire about stock. No, they were all out of the Ebay items (which were the Mark II kit, with the lens removed... this is ok for a retailer to do, I asked Canon). They did have a few of the body-only sets, brand new in box, 3 in stock. Price was slightly higher, but that is fine, it's worth it not to deal with Ebay!  
 
I ordered... they were businesslike, and not pushy. I paid for second day air. He said I should get a shipping notice by 8pm the next day.  
 
I was concerned when the shipping notice didn't come, I really figured they were going to tell me "oops, not really in stock", as I've had other retailers do. So I called the next morning. Customer service was cheerful and helpful... they found my order, but it hadn't been submitted for processing. They weren't sure why. They offered a free Next-Day-Air upgrade however, and asked if I still wanted the camera. Yes I do. She promised to hand-walk my order over to processing to make sure it didn't get overlooked twice.  
 
24 hours later, a brand new 5d Mark II arrived at my doorstep. All accessories were there, all was factory new. The battery is charging now. :)  
 
If I have any complaint, it is that their web site is not as good as many of their competitors. The 5d Mark II isn't even listed. I would like to order from them again for lenses and so forth, but I like being able to know what is offered without having to call.  
 
All in all, a very good transaction.

I ordered an Olympus E-3 package through their Ebay store. It was shipped to me very quickly but I found the camera to be defective.  
 
I sent it back to them the next day, my tracking records show they received it about 11:30 a.m. and they shipped my replacement camera to me later that same day.  
 
I'm very happy with their extremely fast, no hassle service. I will definitely do business with them in the future.

(Ordered through amazon). Their price was good, delivery on time, and all went well. I then went to their web site to order more. I was disappointed to see that they do most of their orders through amazon. I wish they would improve their web site to allow more direct ordering on their full product line.

I ordered an SD14 camera kit through Amazon to CametaCamera. The price was fantastic! CametaCamera offers these cameras at an unbeatable price. The order was placed on Dec 25 in the evening. I received my order on Jan 2, which I thought was fast given the New Year holiday. The kit came with a spare battery that had a problem conditioning and Cameta replaced it once I sent the defective one. It was a pleasure doing business with them, I would buy from them again and highly recommend them as a competitive source for Sigma brand model SD14.

Awesome company. Competitive prices, and they do not hassle you with calls pestering you to buy other things. I am so pleased with Cameta. I plan on buying a Canon 50D later this year, and it will be from these guys.

Ordered Nikon D90, through Amazon on 1/16, sold by Cameta. Scheduled to ship 1/23 and arrive on or before 1/28. Package arrived 1/20!!! Camera factory fresh with all accessories and US warranty. No tax and free shipping.

I ordered a Pentax k10D camera body (refurbished) and a battery grip (new) from Cameta Camera and what I got was exactly what they advertised. Great communication, GREAT price and I will certainly order from them again - without hesitation!

I recently purchased a Factory refurbished Canon 40D from Cameta Camera unfortunately the camera I got was defective, I called there customer service and spoke to a very nice agent who quickly authorized my return for exchange. I shipped the package back that same day and 2 days later I had my replacement camera in hand. I will continue to use Cameta Camera in the future, it was a pleasure to do business with them.
