It is my opinion that most of the reviews for Alienware, a subsidiary of Dell, on this site are likley fake. If one compares the amount of BBB complaints against their high rating here a large disparity is readily apparent. Please do a web search and many bad stories emerge.  
 
After the glowing blue alien head started to flicker, I had my notebook catch fire due to what looks like a poor case of wire routing. It is beyond repair and unfortunatley, out of warranty. Victor, the head of customer service, refused to let me speak with anyone else and told me that "even if you notebook is only 24 hours out of warranty it is your problem not ours". Yes, the notebook was out of waranty. However, a notebook is not supposed to spontaneously catch fire. This appears to be the fault of the Alienware build process and they refuse to help me out at all. I am not asking for a free notebook, bit a slight discount on a new machine would be in order it seems. What happened to going above and beyond Alienware?  
 
Having been a good customer, I will no longer do business with a company like this. I strongly encourage you to research the Alienware customer service reputation and take your business elsewhere.

Ordered my laptop using the quickship promotion and received my purchase very quickly and working smoothly. I have been very satisfied so far with my purchase and will probably buy from Alienware again if given the chance.

What can i say, Alienware is the best. Ive always liked the way they combined design and technology. I just got my M15 as a present from my wife, ive always wanted one cause i think their workhorses. I use that pc for video editing and music. Its great, i recommend to everyone one that this company is great and so is their customer service. thank you

I've wanted an Alienware computer for about eight years now, and I finally got to a place where I could afford one. I couldn't be happier with my computer! There was a slight delay in shipping because something failed a quality assurance check, but the revised shipping date was right on target. It arrived in perfect condition and the out of the box experience was fantastic. All of my software runs great on the box and it was worth every penny. The paint job (green) is beautiful. I'll buy Alienware again.

Ever since I've known of the Alienware company, I have longed for one of their machines, kept up with their newsletters, and website, so when I had the opportunity to buy a new laptop, Alienware was at the top of my list. I looked through many companies (HP, IBM, Dell, etc) to compare prices for a gaming laptop, and Alienware seemed to offer the most bang for my buck. I ordered an m15x, and I love it. It is exactly what I had hoped for - it runs every top of the line PC game (Crysis is my best example) on the high settings - everything runs smoothly, and being Alienware, the thing is just so damn cool. The customer service was excellent - the call from the service rep. was pleasant, and so polite and patient. I am EXTREMELY SATISFIED with Alienware, and I will definitely purchase from them again, and I will recommend Alienware to anyone who is looking for a gaming PC or notebook.

I purchased an m15x laptop and am extremely happy with it. The computer works great and plays every game I throw at it extremely well.  
Customer service could be better; before finally puchasing the computer I spoke to a couple people in their sales department that seemed unfriendly and impatient, but the last person I talked to was very helpful. The only other complaint I would have is it's a bit overpriced, but not too bad considering that no other manufacturer makes a gaming laptop as versatile as the m15x. If you can afford it then it's a great buy. I would purchase from alienware again.

I ordered a 9750 notebook on october 22, 2008. After about a week and it was still in phase 2 I called on numerous occasions just to find out that the video cards were on backorder. It is now November 9th and after I called them on the 6th and they said they would update the status on the website it is still stuck on phase 2. They did put a rush priority on my order but it is still not in production. The video cards were not up to there standards so they had to order another set. This is still unacceptable because I have been waiting since the 22nd of October and it was suppose to ship on the 4th of November. I'm lucky if it ships during the week of the 10th of Nov. if It dosen't I'm going to cancel my order and never order from them again. They are very slow with there process and have been the worst out of all of the online etailers that I have dealt with. I would not recommend them to anyone. They don't even compensate you for the long wait and the lies they tell you about your order. I was receiving different answers about my order including it would ship on time ............................yeah right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered my Alienware Area-51 m15x on September 15th 2008 and it arrived a little bit earlier than I was expecting. I was amazed with this computer right when it came out of the box. Just the looks of it alone were impressive. First thing I did was load a few games onto it to see how it could handle them. Crysis looked fantastic and played smooth. I also loaded in a few older games I had and was able to play them on the highest settings with absolutely no problems. I also use this laptop for working online for my company's web site and it is noticeably faster than other NEW laptops and desktops I used before. At first I thought Alienware's prices were a little high but with the quality and service you end up getting it is well worth it.

I purchased the Alienware Aurora Desktop. The site gave me some good options to choose from. I got a great system for a good price. The system took awhile to ship but when it arrived it was in perfect condition. The one thing that stood out from everything when ordering from this company, is the customer service. I called and sent e-mail questions to them and every time I got an answer quickly. Better than some company's I have bought from. An American answered the phone every time too. That is another huge plus for me. Anyway, I would love to keep writing but I got some games to play!

Alienware has awesome products and truly personalized customer support. From the moment you purchase your Alienware, they are in contact with you - letting you know the production status and making sure that your computer is made to your specs. The great components and design of their computers lured me in; the outstanding customer service will keep me loyal and bring me back to buy from them again.

I couldn't be more pleased with the service and support options from Alienware. The hardware, attention to detail, and build quality is outstanding. Everything was tested prior to shipment and packed immaculately. I've purchased numerous systems over the years and even built a few myself but this Area-51 7500 far surpasses my expectations. This is the beginning of a great relationship I hope to have with Alienware and I would definitely buy all future systems and peripherals from them. Thanks!

I would recommend this company to everyone. The computer I got from them came on time and the packaging was perfect. No complaints so far and I've had the computer for a little over a month.

I recently purchased a Area-51 m17x notebook. After going through the order process online and dealing with some great customer service reps who helped me change my order. It arrived just 8 days later. I was truly shocked that it was that fast. I also ordered the Orion Backpack along with the notebook. So far everything has been amazing. Great laptop. It makes my friends jealous and I think I convinced a few to buy one.

There's not enough space to write all of the terrible things this company has done to me. They shipped me a computer that would not connect to the internet. Over 4 hours with their technical support could not fix the problem (which I only got after being on hold for an hour). I had to reinstall everything three times. When I used their shipping company to send it back for repairs, they called me and told me it was damaged in transition. They wanted me to pay for the damage!! I was so tired of trying to work things out with them, that I asked to cancel the order. Similar to the gentleman who commented previously, they said they would charge me restocking fee. I found this to be terrible service. I even wrote the CEO. There's much more, but needless to say, I will never buy anything from them again. The techs are nice by the customer service is horrific!!!

Overall it was a good purchase. The Alienware M17X is an awesome machine. I just wish their customer support was better able to give you a straight answer when you call for status updates. But overall The system rocks. The dual videocards scream and the turbo memory kicks everything up. But I got the 4 GB ram in the machine... What a waste. Vista won't recognize it all because I have a a full GB of Video Memory and another full GB of Turbo Memory which leaves only 2GB for vista to see. Had I known that before I purchased I would have saved the $400 and chosen 2GB instead... But overall the system is stable, fast and it looks cool. It doesn't run hot either. The Blu ray burner is a nice addition and the AlienFX keyboard is interesting... Once the unit shipped it took 3 days, not bad from Florida to Ohio... It took them a Month to ship it but I knew that when I ordered it, it was only 2 business days after they "estimated" it would ship.  
 
Despite the Customer Service not being all that helpful the Tech support (Used on my Previous machine not this one) was good and resolved my issues.  
 
I will buy from them again.
