I'm STUNNED by the ineptitude and arrogance showed by Walmart.com! I ordered a futon from them on August 25, figuring that the people I was expecting to visit my home on September 14 would have a place to sleep. I received a confirmation on August 27 from Walmart that my item had shipped. They gave me a tracking number for a company called Hi Pilot (should have tipped me off, I know). I immediately went on to Hi Pilot's website to track the package, and the site said that the number I'd entered couldn't be found. Two more tries later, I called Walmart's help number. Don't worry, they assured me, we definitely shippend the item, but sometimes it takes a while for the information to load onto Hi Pilot's system. I tried calling Hi Pilot again on Saturday and again on Monday. STILL had no idea what tracking number I was on about. Part of the reason I was calling was to not only track my package but to see whether the estimated delivery date of September 16 (!) was somehow negotiable. To cut a long story short, Walmart told me on Monday August 30 that "Maybe" they'd given me the wrong tracking number, and that they'd look into it and email me immediately. Panicked, I called again on Tuesday, got the smarmiest, rudest "customer service rep" of all time who told me I should have looked carefully at the estimated delivery time (he was right: I hadn't factored in the fact that the shipping estimate as 7-14 BUSINESS days) and that there was very little he could do to help me because his contacts at Hi Pilot "weren't answering their phones." I obviously don't want this futon now, and told him so. He suggested I refuse delivery (whenever that will be since we still don't know where it is!) but that I wouldn't get a refund/credit on my card until Walmart.com gets the item back - which can take up to 3 weeks! I won't get my money back on something I ordered in August, until OCTOBER! I'd have to be screaming-down-the-street-nude Insane to order from this site again!
