My husband purchased some diamond earings for me. I was very happy, but sorry to say (and don't hold it against me) were too small!
They were 2 carats in total, meaning 1 carat each side. I'm sorry to say, but 1 carat on an ear is small.
But it was a wierd promotion, for some reason, they said 2 pairs, and sure enough we got 2 pairs! So, then i realized, it was actually only 0.5 carats each ear. no wonder they looked so small.
anyway, i was a litle unsure about having him return it, after all jewelry is a tough one. I understand from their point of view if they feel like we swapped out the diamonds and am returning CZ's. :-)
so i took care of the returns, emailed them. They asked why, i told them it was too small and not what we expected. They gave us an return number and we shipped it back. I felt find paying for shipping, after all, we didn't like it and we made the mistake.
well, sure enough they refunded us in full.
Everything went great. I've been looking on their site for something to buy again. I'll keep my eyes open. I'll leave another review when i do.

Ordered speakers from Overstock.com, they shipped quickly but mounting brackets were damaged. Return shipping not cost effective. I placed review warning other buyers of poor quality. It was never posted to the site. The review was accurate, tasteful and the only reason it would not be posted is due to censorship.
I will not order from them again as censored reviews are not reviews. Buyer beware! This review was modified by its author, kybroker, on

Overstock.com is sometimes expensive, but overall the quality of the items offered is high. Sometimes things do happen, but their zCustomer Care representatives are always helpful and do whatever possible to keep their customer happy. Definitely a merchant to re-visit.

I worked for a number of online retailers in the past, and Overstock has the best shipping times, bar none. I've had a bad experience with a past return, but orders have been well cared for and for the past year. I only buy new paperbacks here because Amazon's warehouse no longer takes good care of their books.

Overstock.com is awesome. I've purchased 5 items from them and they were perfectly described, great deals. Their customer support is GREAT and you can actually talk to somebody on the phone or via chat over their Web site. The were friendly and very supportive. I cant understand all these other people saying aweful they are. It has not been true for me thats for sure. I bought a couple Memory foam toppers (Serta) 2 inch GREAT ITEM!!! and a Breville Coffee Maker and a Comforter Set. They were AWESOME! SHOP here, you wont be sorry, at least I think so VERY Strongly!

This is a fraud company and I would advise everybody to be very careful before doing any business with these guys.
I purchased 3 memory foam mattress toppers from these guys and The package was in a horrible condition when we received it and the product was not memory foam at least it does not feel that way. It is just a 3 inch mattress foam being advertised and sold as Memory foam. I purchased 3 mattresses toppers and opened only one. I was highly dissatisfied and mailed back the two unopened mattresses. I paid 24 dollars shipping this back. They refunded me only one and when I emailed them about this they said that the other one was probably not in the condition they wanted so. I was shocked as I had mailed this through USPS in as is condition without opening it and also sent them tracking number.
The net result for the 100 dollars I spent on the two mattress toppers I have lost 80 dollars and the mattress is returned to Overstock and they have it. These guys are cheats and Frauds.

Bad and dishonest store. Most nasty store I have dealt with.
If you want to use Overstock.com gift card, forget about it. If you use more than $300, they will claim they are stolen and your account closed. Gift cards gone.

Twice I sent a request for a price match on a Hoover Steam Vac and it took nearly two weeks to receive a response. In that time the Hoover Steam Vac apparently "sold out". Overstock.com does NOT uphold it's online best price match policy nor does Overstock.com respond within 2-4 business days as it's stated. The service I received was horrible and of course they do not uphold their "best price match policy", they can just wait 2 weeks later to respond and wait for the item to "sell out". I would rather make my online purchase at a place with a better price and great customer service. NOT overstock.com.

I did not end up buying from them. They promise to meet a price if you find the equivalent item, but it took them ten days to get back to me and then only to tell me that they no longer sell the item and therefore will not honor the policy. Now I would have been somewhat annoyed by the poor turn around time, but I am more peeved by the fact that THIS IS A LIE. They still sell the item. Don't waste your time with their match policy; they do not honor it.

Overstock use to be excellent with deals, good in describing the product and condition (if used or refurbished) now they are poor with describing condition of refurb items, poor with communication, but at least they still have good rates on shipping. Some items (other than electronics) are good deals. But their prices and selection of items are limited. Not what they use to be.

First time shopping at Overstock. Easy to find what I was looking for. Helpful similar item suggestions. I like that they include the manufacturers Model number to make it easier to research items.
Item was as described .. refurbished Uniden phone with 2 extra handsets. Was in original box with all accessories & manual. Phone works great & looked brand new. No marks or scratches.
They have Live Chat which I consider an asset to any business that has it. It's so much easier & faster to get questions answered. Much better than emailing. The Customer service rep was helpful, able to answer my question & the whole process was very quick.
From my experience the "sell out risk" & "quantity left" number should be viewed skeptically. After I added the item to my cart it said only 3 left. Made it appear they were about sold out & that I needed to hurry if I wanted to buy one. I keep checking the site, the number went to 1 then the next day it went back up to 6.
So I could have waited & taken more time to shop around. That's what they hope for by posting that number. Unfortunately I fell for it. Live & learn ..
Overstock did have the best price on the *exact* model number I bought. I later found an eBay store had a better deal that included 3 extra handsets for same price but the extra handset caused the model number to be -4 instead of -3. So no way to price match. Also it was a "blowout sale" & Overstock policy says they won't price match sale items. But they do price match if all their strict conditions are met.
I'm still happy with my purchase & Overstock shipped fast & cheap. Ordered late Sunday night .. received Tuesday morning.
I'll shop there again but I'll be sure to do my homework first before checking their store.

I ordered a PS3 game from them and it arrived fine. Shipping was a little slow for a small package (8-9 days), but it was during the holiday seasons so it's okay. Definitely would purchase from them again (when their items are on sale)

Assured me that items ordered were NOT refurbished and were brand new in original packaging.
Received three items in generic bubble wrap. There was no invoice, no instruction manual, no original packaging whatsoever.
Called overstock.com, originally was told that they had no way of knowing how the item is originally packaged from the manufacturer, and that these theoretically could be packaged in this way by the manufacturer. I doubt these items would be placed on shelves in retail stores with no instruction manual, no box, no anything (not even identifying marks as to the make and model of the item). Still, they insisted this could be the case, but the CSR "had no idea for sure."
Asked to speak with manager who was more helpful, acknowledged they "may" be a refurbished item, and that it was probably mislabeled on the website. Assured me it would be corrected, and provided a good discount to make it right. Thumbs up for that, though after 3 weeks the website still has not changed, so buyer BEWARE that you are actually getting a NEW item and not a refurbished item. In my case, one of the three headsets I ordered smelled like cigarette smoke.
Also be wary of the reviews on Overstock's website. I posted a review stating what I wrote above, and it was never posted. I figured maybe I forgot to hit "submit" or made another mistake in submitting my review, so I wrote another one. It also was either deleted or never posted, as I checked back to make sure it was actually published. It still has not been published after several weeks.
--------------------------------------------
Bottom Line:
--------------------------------------------
1. Do not rely on customer reviews on their website, they may be censored
2. Use online chat to ensure discounted items are actually "brand new" and not "refurbished." Keep a record of this communication, because you may receive a refurb when it was not listed as such on the website.
3. Customer service if this happens was excellent if you get past the initial CSR who may supply the same misinformation as the website itself. Speak with manager where possible.

I ordered 2 CD's, which Overstock shipped right away and were delivered within a week. However, that was their secret! I received an email with an invalid tracking number, so I could not verify that my order was on it's way to me. I contacted customer service 3 times, and each time got a response regarding an order for "wooden chopsticks" and no answer regarding the tracking number.
I've ordered from Overstock many times before, and this example seems to be the normal mode of operation from them - satisfactory order processing, but systemically LOUSY customer service.
