I'll try to make a long story short.before i placed this order, I had been looking for a good price of either 300mm 2.8 or 200mm 2.0, I emailed Joel and asked if he can put that 200mm 2.0(in stock on his own site) on ebay so I can save some extra money because of that $200 bing cash back, and no response from him at all. so I ordered this glass through his own website, got his email soon saying that he doesn't have that glass in stock, and refunded all the money.I'm telling you Joel, because of the refunded money would took couple of days back to my account, I lost the Chance to buy the glass from another seller. I was mad, really mad.if you follow the price of those white big lenses of Canon you know the prices kept going up at that time because those reliable stores like B&H, Adorama, etc.I'm that kind of person who hats to pay extra money for same stuff. so when I saw theimagingwould was selling 300mm 2.8 still for $4100($500, 10.8% cheaper than B$H's),on ebay, I ordered it right away. thanks for all the previous feed backs really supported me did this order despite all the bad experiences with this store.after I placed this order, I was really nervous, I checked back again, I found that the one I bought was a relisted one, I emailed Joel right away, he told me this wasn't a relisted one, without any explain.than I got another email with tracking number, I opened the tracking web page found the weight of the package they are sending is only 5lb, but the lens itself will be weighted about 5.6lb!I was tired to ask Joel any more questions , just preparing to get foul again.when I got the package, the lens didn't come in with a bigger box, it came in with it's original box. the box looked old and dirty with a small whole on it. and it looked like it has been shipped to another place before(you can see old shipping label was cut off)
I quickly weighted the package and it was more than 12lb( good job Joel, I guess this is the reason you can offer free shipping?!) after I opened box, everything looked brand new. what makes me finally forgive Joel is the date code of this lens---UX09xx(Sept.2009)how nice is that!one more thing, I did some test shots with this lens, the results? sharp sharp sharp, nice color, nice bokeh.I never wrote any feed back like this before because of my so so English, I think I should do this for theimagingwould. it just because there are too less store like this, we should support this kind of stores if we want to pay less.this seller was not perfect based on my experience, but I would still give it a 5 stars and will order from it again.BTW, let me know when the price of 7D drops, Joel? I placed an order for a Canon 430 EX II flash but realized I want to research flashes a bit more. Called "The Imaging World" and the person on the phone immediately agreed to cancel the order without any questions. Very helpful. Will look them up again when I am ready to buy.

I received the camera (5D Mark II Kit) I ordered in excellent condition quickly.
There was some confusion with Bing but it seems to me like the problem is on the Bing side.
Joel worked with me to understand the situation and I am happy with his handling of the mixup. This review was modified by its author, bjelliot, on

I ordered the Canon 5D Mark II.
So at first I was a little skeptical, I found the Imaging World through Bing.com, they have a store in Brooklyn but it seemed to me a little questionable because I like to get all my stuff through B&H. But I called and placed my order over the phone and got exactly what I asked for. a BRAND new camera that was recently manufactured (came with the newest firmware released 2 months ago). Didn't have a fingerprint on the camera. It works perfect and I'm very happy I got it here. I'll be making a trip to the store to pick up an extra battery. I highly recommend this store!

I'd recommend just staying away. They take an order for an item that they list as being in stock on their website. Then they cancel the order a day later. Sure they refund your money, but its just a waste of your time.
UPDATE: After writing this review I did get an email describing the reason for canceling the order. It would have been nice if the email got to me before the actual order cancellation. Furthermore, I suppose I can understand their reasons for canceling the order even if I don't agree with them. This review was modified by its author, thedigitalbean, on

We are very sorry for what had happened with your order, We had a glitch with the Bing cashback, were that had offered a higher cash back that we initially offered, so we couldn’t process this order with that high cash back
We do very much apologies for this inconvenience
Thanks

I was a little leery buying a camera from one of “those Brooklyn camera stores” (obvious stereotype) but I am glad I did. My experience with The Imaging World was great. Communication was excellent; there were zero pressure tactics and they did NOT try to up sell me; they shipped promptly; the price was very competitive; and best of all, my USA warranted Canon camera arrived safe and sound. I would definitely do business with them again.

The Imaging World
I must tell the camera consumer world what a superlative experience I had with this company. Prior to my connection with “The Imaging World” I did not do my due diligence and bought a Canon 50D from FotoConnection, total 100% scam from the warranty, battery and of course “Gray Markey”. Thankfully my AMEX backed me and refunded my money. I started sniffing around the web and saw nothing but first class write ups about “The imaging World” grant you, I was some what reluctant because of the location etc etc. I called and talked to the “Boss Man” himself named “Joel’, I cannot say enough good things about him, he directed me to the Canon site and walked me thru to show me that he was in fact a Canon authorized dealer, we chatted for a few and you could tell he was a man of integrity,he did not try to sell me a “better battery” etc etc, I bought the Canon 50D and Canon 18-200 IS on EBay on Sunday, received everything today “Thursday” with the free shipping.
The order was exact and I love the camera and lens.
After spending 20 years plus in the military I salute you Joel for a job well done.
Thanks, good health and the very best in your business.

I took a chance on purchasing my camera from Imaging World based on reviews of past customers. I, like many others, have been a victim of the "Bait and Switch", scam and con artist that are so prevalent in the arena of camera equipment sales. However, after checking on this company, I decided to try one more time.
B&H & Adorama are a fine companies but like so many large companies you don't get the personal service that you receive from a company who is trying to prove its self among the giants.
I purchased my canon 5d mark II from Joel in May. He answered all my questions in a professional manner, he followed through in all his promises, and delivered my camera to me in a very timely fashion. There were no attempts to up sell or coerce me into something that I did not want. I will be purchasing from them again and want others to know that this company is a reliable option for your photographic needs.

Normally, I would typically order camera gear from B&H, a standby of many years. Unfortunately, they and many others did not have the Canon 5D Mark II in stock. I searched and came across The Imaging World, with plenty of stock on hand. Being that I never had dealt with this dealer before, I was a bit apprehensive. I called and spoke to Joel, who assured me that everything was on the up and up, so I placed the order. Within 24 hours, I had a Fedex tracking number and the camera arrived shortly thereafter. Package contents, USA warranty, and all accessories were included. I wouldn't hesitate to order from Joel and The Imaging World in the future.

Trustworthy, Service-oriented and Ethical. I've now purchased four times from The Imaging World spending over $10,000. Purchases include four Canon L series lenses and a Canon EOS 5 Mark II digital body. Everything is USA Warranty, communications is fast and reliable and the degree of honesty is superb. I'm delighted to recommend owner Joel Weiss and The Imaging World to others. This review was modified by its author, Angiesguy, on

Great place to buy camera equipment. Service and prices can not be beat! Joel is very responsive. Ordered a lens, Joel called in the morning to confirm the order, item shipped that day (Tracking number sent via email) I got the item the next day. The lens came packed in the correct fashion, unlike many online retailers who put them in large boxes with no packing.

UPDTE! I believe that someone the in the great somewhere hears every word (my wish for a great price). And that is exactly what I got with my first and now my second purchase (Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro) from “The Imaging World”. They may not be the biggest camera store in NY city but they are just as good with there customer care and delivering what I need. Keep up the excellent work guys because so far, I’m a believer.
