DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS SHADY COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

Thankfully just in the nick-of-time, I found this site before this sleezy place could post my purchase order to my credit card. I canceled my credit card after reading all the negative reviews which all had the same story, and I was about to be another victim. The extremely attractive price (Canon XSI w/ Gold Pkg)is what sold me. Received the confirmation e-mail saying my order had been received. The next morning, received the "need credit card # for verification" email followed up by a phone call that my wife took (I was at work). When she refused to give them my card info, the man whom she spoke with claiming to be the "owner" became very very rude towards her. She told him shove it where the sun does not shine and cancel the order. Within minutes, an e-mail was received saying that "Due to high demands on this product it is currently out of stock" and my order was canceled. Thank God there is this site that advises online shoppers the good companies to do business with, and those to avoid. 1 Way Photo is DEFINITELY a company to avoid.

Bait and Switch!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID

I ordered a Nikon SB-800 Flash at ~$30 below most other sites, $279. I received an email asking me to call to confirm my order. I was asked if I had a digital or film camera because I had ordered the film version of this flash, (Note: There is only 1 version of this Flash for all Nikon Cameras). I was told that the digital version was $399 (Higher than Nikon list price). When I asked him to tell me the difference he put me on hold for 5 minutes. He returned and said that I was correct but the $279 version was imported and had "No Warranty". On their web site it states: "Everything we sell is 100% brand new
and includes a full USA warranty!". When I told him this he said, "So cancel your order". I refused and asked him to verify that the Imported version contained all of the accessories included in the US model. His reply was, "I don't have this much time to spend on the sale of a Flash Unit". "Whatever comes in the box from Nikon is what you will get". I told him to ship it. 10 minutes later I received the following email:

DEAR VALUED CUSTOMER

Due to high demands on this product it is currently out of stock. Your order has
been cancelled and your credit card has not been billed. We will keep your email
address on file and we will notify you as as soon as it does come in. For
further information, please call our customer service department for further
assistance at 800-728-9461. We do apologize for the inconvenience.

A very shady company. I was forced to call back with my credit card confirmation. BUT when I did not want any of their extras, they refused to sell the camera. I also was told that the camera was a cheap Japanese model for home consumption instead of the U.S. model. I canceled my credit card so this comapny could not exploit it.

I ordered Nikon 70-300mm Zoom lens. After receiving my order confirmation email, they sent me another one asking me to call their toll-free number to verify my order. I called, and the sales rep immediately tried to steer me to a higher-priced lense, plus a bunch of add-ons, like filters, lens cleaning stuff, etc. When I turned that all down, he asked my again for my credit card number.

About 15 minutes later, I received another email saying the lens I ordered was not in stock and it would take 4 to 6 weeks before they'd get it in.

I have sent multiple emails to their customer service address asking for the status of the order. I have never received a response.

I ran into a similar problem several years ago when buying a digital camera on line. Same story, an unbelievably low price, place the order, get the email, call to confirm, bait and switch, item not in stock. Personally, I think this is one company doing business under multiple names. They should be forced off the web, or at the very least be forbidden to advertise items not in stock.

I found myself in the same situation as most of these stories....Placed my order, got nervous, tried to cancelled 30 minutes after placing order, was told it had been shipped. I calmly told them that I do not want the camera, and if it has been shipped what are the steps I need to take in returning it and being refunded. "Scott" then explained to me once it arrives I need to insure it and send it back. I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee. I then explained to him that I felt deceived and was going to call the Better Business Bureau about my experience. I was upset, but tried to stay calm, thanked him and hung up. The next day (still trying to be very polite) I called back to see if, by any chance, I could cancel. I was told that my order was voided yesterday. I feel like I was one of the more lucky ones in dealing with this terrible company, but I would high discourage anyone from ordering from them. Obviously I was lied to about the ordered already being shipped. If you find yourself in this situation…. #1 try your hardest to stay calm and be polite (1wayphoto has used foul language and hung up on people….this will get you no where) #2 Inform them that you would like to contact Better Business Bureau about your dealings with the company and #3 Contact Visa or your bank whatever you used to pay to inform them of the situation and that you would like to stop payment or dispute charges. I hope you don’t order from them. If you already have, I wish you the best in your battle.

Stay away from these crooks!!!!!!!!!!
Same old story. I found this site to late. Made order for Canon lens at low price ad. They call me back with a BS and talked me into a Sigma lens and told it MSRP was 1200 dollars. I was at work and could check it out. This was at 3:pm. I call them that evening to cancel and the y said it already shipped but couldn't give me a ship ID. Callled my CC company but they couldn't help me out.
Called 1 way the next day they still couln't give
me a Tracking Number. Too boot they hang up on me then they want answer the phone . I call on a differ phone and they answer. Caller ID Crooks
I recieved the Sigma lens without the filter he said I would get. I called forever to get a RMA and it says they are closed. After reading all the trouble for credit on returns I have desided to keep the sigma lens. At least I have something for my money. Bad side is I could have bought it online for $350 and I paid 629 by the time it got to my door without a glass filter I was promissed.
My email is robertnla@bellsouth.net I'll never buy from a dealer without checking them out again.
I don't know what else to do. I think an undercover sting should be setup to bust these no good SOB's.

I attempted to purchase two Nikon D80's with the 18-200 VR lenses from 1 Way Photo. My first question was if they were in stock. I was assured they were. One was to be gift for my sister's birthday and the other an upgrade for me. I made my phone order on Friday and was told the camera's would ship on Monday and arrive no later than Wednesday just in time for the birthday girl. On Thursday I still had not received either camera. A call on Friday morning resulted in being told they had been back ordered and would not be in until the middle of June. I experienced the same upgrade special offers that some of the other reviewers have talked about. They were more than willing to help me spend 2 or 3 times my original purchase. Talk about a slick bait and switch - these guys have it down pat. I passed on all the upgrade specials and now fully expect that's why I'm on the back ordered (forever!)list. I called two days ago and was told they were still on back order and it would now be the end of June. That's when I began searching for some background info on these guys and found this web site. I will be cancelling the order first thing in the morning. I think their rating of .44 is much too high. Almost burned! I think the name 1 way sums it up nicely!

So after already ordering from these crooks (didnt know this site existed), I received my confirmation via email, but havent gotten the (now dreaded) phone call from them; does anyone know if you DONT answer the call and DONT give them the CRV code on the back of the card if they can charge you?

I plan on calling my bank in the am to make sure this will be canceled and/or have a stop payment put on it.

I wish I had found this site first, like the old saying if it is to good to be true, it normally is. Unlike many I was excited about the EOS Rebel XSI, I have been wanting a SLR camera for a few years, same story, asked to call to confirm order told I needed to buy a battery, I thought I had some time to talk but when I called I became very busy, gave me a story about a 5 hour battery and a charger being being about $300 more, and said he would do me a favor and upgrade by giving me higher quality lenses, and saving me money on the memory card, the bottom line was 1229, and with free shipping it would be 1299. Hind sight being 20/20 I should have smell the bull. The shipping was quick, in the camera case there was a battery and a charger, I did not find a 5 hour battery, the lenses were not Sanon lenses, but Sigma lenses. I the accessories I felt were cheap quality, the tripod, cheap, the bag cheap. I started checking on-line to do a price comparison, I was not happy. the memory card less than $10, the two Sigma lenses, less than $250, the tripod less than $15, the two u/v filters less than $15. I could have bought the camera in a store for $895, and then had money left over to purchase higher quality accessories. Now my problem, I could still return the camera, but I looked at the return policy and I have opened the memory card case, and have used the cleaning kit. Restocking fee and then making me pay for memory card at their prices I would lose money. What can I do so I not lose money. Or, do I chaulk up it up for experience and take my loss. Any advise would be appreciated.

It's called BAIT AND SWITCH. On top of that they don't have the products in stock to sell. "Out of stock" is what the email says that they send you after you waste you time. They are rude on the phone to their customers. They told me that Nikon only includes a "disposable" battery with their $2000 camera, a lie. I called back and the same guy (Scott, and I read that name in other bad reviews of these guys) told me that I must have talked to someone else and basically everything I knew was wrong according to him. Whew, how can some people sleep at night. The internet used to be a great place for vendors to sell at lower prices because of the lack of overhead. Now it is a place for unscrupulous liars to hide. STAY AWAY from 1WAYPHOTO.

I was looking for a camera at a good price, that's how i ran into this website. A Panasonic dvx100b for only $1299.00. Sounds great, except that is not true. when i called to order the camera, they told me that it came without the lens (body only)They than convinced me the buy a different camera that just happened to be on sale at $2,100.00 (Sony hvrhd1000) (normally $2.999.00 that their website, I later found out it only sells for $1,599.00 at honest websites.) claiming that it was a much better camera. To make a long story short. The next day i did some research and realized that i had been lied to everything that i was told, turned out to be false. MY Advice, don't do business with these crooks, they're going to rip you off big time. by the way i found this other website called pricing depot.com, looks like the same people behind the website, be careful, like the saying goes if it sounds too good to be true.

Pretty much the same story. Ordered camera package Friday for my wife for a graduation present. Got an email Monday asking me to call to confirm my order. When I called a guy with a bad New York accent asked me if I wanted to purchase a "special 5 hr. battery" for $199. I stated that the item description said that it came with a battery and he said it was "just a battery to set up the date and time on the camera". I looked up how much a "real" battery would cost--$15-$45, so i said no thanks to his offer. He just hung up the phone. I then found this site and got nervous. Luckily yesterday they sent me an email cancelling my order due to the item not being in stock. Out of curiousity I called, asked if my order was officially cancelled, he said yes, and I said "Thats too bad, I was going to order that special battery." He then said hold on. He came back and said he just found one and if I gave him my security code he would process my order. I said no thanks, I know your game and will be alerting the authorities. He then yelled some expletives and hung up. Scam artists, and not even very good ones. Good scam artists are charming, not a**wipes like these jerks.

As others have said before me, I wish I had found this review site earlier.I placed an order with these people and they called me back about an hour later to "verify my credit card". I gave them the 3 digit code on the back. about 30 minutes later I received an e-mail with an additional $500 worth of charges. I called to complain and their response was that I approved the upgrade otherwise they would not have had my 3 digit security code from the back of the card. Now I have to file a dispute with my credit card company. If anyone else who ripped off wants to file a complaint with the NY attorney general the link is http://www.oag.state.ny.us/complaints/pdfs/cns001web_consumer.pdf or for spanish form http://www.oag.state.ny.us/complaints/pdfs/cns001web_consumer_spanish.pdf

If you ever made purchase, and now you are reading it, be very hurry!! take your action to get out of there, otherwise you will feel like
an greatest idiot in the world.
Don't waste your time with these scammers to try to fix the problem.
just call the bank, and file disputed claim,
that's what I did after I was hung up many times, and fooled by lies and lies,
I got sick and tired to deal with them, and I hope you don't need to go through that yourself. You really don't need to be nice to those people because the more you treat them nicely, they will try to fool you and use you.

I will skip my story because it is just same as others story here. But one thing, when I was
so desperate with this scam, I came here and read all these stories and I got couraged to take my action and I got my money back and returned the stuffs. I learned about BBB from here so I filed the repoert, filed disputed claim with my bank, and they helped me. So if you have same situation, talking to your bank would be the best way. Fight for your right.
