I recently purchased a Nikon D60 from 1 way photo. After many years of online purchasing I have been ripped off. After placing my online order I was asked to call back to confirm my CC information. When I called back I was told that the battery that came with the camera only lasted 30 minutes and that I should buy a HP battery and charger. At first I said no thank you to the $200 add-on. I was also told that if I didn't buy a high capacity SD card that the camera would lag. Again I said no thank you. Now I should know better but was doing 3 things at the time so when I was offered a better kit that included these items along with the UV filters I was considering for what I thought was a reasonable price I agreed. Now I have received the camera which is what I expected it to be. The add-ons though are where I got ripped off. A SD card that doesn't work, and the only battery and charger are the standard Nikon equipment. Of course when I called to report this to the company for a resolution I was told that the customer service department didn't open until 11 am and to call back then. When I tried to call the salesman back his extension no longer works. Imagine that. I figure I'm out about $100 given what I spent and what I received. I started researching this company when I saw what I had gotten, something I know I should have done before ordering. All things considered I came out well from what I've read from other people. If you are considering doing business with 1 way photo I would suggest you don't. That great deal really is too good to be true, and your money will definitely go 1 way.

Just like all the others state: "Bait and Switch".
They lured me in with the lowest price on a Digital Rebel XTi and called me to confirm the order and told me that only a disposable battery came with the camera and I had two choices: $250 2 hour battery or a $350 5 hour battery.... Long story short, I fell for it, paid too much, tried to cancel my order 4 hours later and was told it had already shipped. Argued that they were overcharging me and Scott finally offered me a $125 credit as long as I accepted the package when it arrived and called back to say so. We'll see how that fairs. It's funny though, the box that the camera came in lists a rechargeable battery & charger on the side as "items included".
I guess on the bright side I got new in original box USA items instead of grey market. I was able to register the camera on canon.com.
UPDATE
Turns out that he "didn't tell me that price, and to call back between 11:00am - 5:00pm so he can go through the phone recordings" and prove it to me. So much for that. This review was modified by its author, dublea, on

Order of 'Nikon D80 W/ Advanced Package' @ $609.99 USD (+ Tax)
They ask to confirm by phone (1-800-728-9461) & try to sell upgrades/accessory parts. I denied & promptly received mail "Dear Valued Customer ... product it is currently out of stock ... apologize for the inconvenience" - SWINDLER !

I had the same experience.
What can we do to let the world know about these scammers? This review was modified by its author, momochan73, on

Tried to order a camera. Like other customers have mentioned, it's a bait-and-switch store. They tried to sell me overpriced batteries and charger, told me that I should use a different lens, and when I wanted to go with the original order, they cancelled it.

As with nearly every other customer on this website, I am extremely dissatisfied with 1 Way Photo and their bait-and-switch tactics. I attempted to purchase a camera there, and was informed that I had purchased the Japanese model. For $xxx more, I could get the American version and a lens that would actually work with my camera, rather than the one that came in their "package". Do not do business with this company. It is a scam.

One call, and 1WayPhoto said there would be no problem cancelling my order. The staff was very couteous and professional. Although I've read all of the negative reviews, I am tempted to make a small purchase to see how that goes. They are still in business, after all. The base price of their cameras is very reasonable, although I see a mark-up on the smaller items...shop wisely and save. This review was modified by its author, Still in Juarez, on

This has been the most horrible experience I ever had with online ordering.
I ordered a Nikon D300 and discovered the staff is trying to manipulate various packages and trying to sell me things I don't need.
I called back on the phone the day after the phone order and the Sales person John claimed he did not talk to me the day before. I got to talk to Steve and wanted to talk to his supervisor which he claimed he's the top person there and has no supervisor.
I sent them a cancel request the day of the order by email and was told the next day that in order to cancel, I need to pay 7% cancellation fee even though on the email they sent me, it stated the order is being still processed.
The sales manager, Steve, forces me to send him an email accepting to pay the cancellation fee before I can get out of the deal.
I believe the package was not even shipped and he threatened me to charge the full restocking fee if I don't pay the cancellation fee.
He stated that he is trying to do me a big favor by saving me a lot of headache later.
Do not deal with these people because they are the most UNETHICAL SCAMMERS that I even came across.
They try to sell me battery chargers and batteries at 3 to 4 times what I would pay for elsewhere.
They sell Nikon cameras that do not include chargers, that you would have to buy separately.
They tell me all kinds of lies about different lenses and that they have the best deals. Don't be fooled by these scammers.
They will try to substitute products to make "packages" for you to get.
If you don't accept their shipment, they will charge you refusal fees! If you return the equipment, you will be charged restocking fees.
Even if you cancel out the same day of the order, you will pay the cancellation fee!
This was my greatest mistake I would like you all to learn from. Don't deal with these people.
By the way Steve told me on the phone he is the most decent and nice Customer Service Agent, which I completely disagree. From the scale of 1 to 10, I would give this outfit a ZERO.
The lesson I learned after all this is PLEASE DON'T BE TRAPPED by their advertisement on their website. You will regret it dearly.

Warning: Don’t buy from, One Way Photo, and scammers like them. I wished I knew about http://www.resellerratings.com before I found One Way Photo website and purchased from them. I GOT BAIT AND SWITCHED! So I did some research to help fellow consumers.
Don’t Buy from these scams outfits so we can put them out of business:
1. One Way Photo (AKA Lenses N More)
2. FotoConnection (AKA TVsDepot, TheWizStore.com, ePhotoClub, 1stopcamera.com, Inoax.com, TheNewConnection, Rite Buys)
3. Broadway Photo / A&M Photo World, (AKA Regal Camera, Prestige Camera, Preferred Photo, Royal Camera)
4. Camera Addict
If you find a price for an item that is significantly lower than other places, beware of the “bait and switch” scam. There are many similar camera outfits in New York area that will rob you blind.
My experience: I saw One Way Photo website and their prices look very appealing. So I decide to order a Canon 5D body and Canon Speedlite 580 EX II through their website. They sent me an email and asked I called back to confirm my order. (Make sure you don’t give them the pin number on the back of your credit card until you get the items you ordered for the price you ordered!!!)
I called them back about 1 hour after I ordered online. They told me I ordered the “Japanese model” for the 5D. The battery will only work for 20 minutes, etc… I told them I did not want that. I was lucky to be able to cancel the 5D. Then they told me I order the 580 EX II but it was not for the digital SLR. They said I needed the “digital” version which cost me $60.00 more. I wanted to cancel the flash also, but he got pissed and said there was a 10% cancellation fee. So I had to bite the loss and kept the flash for $60 more than what other stores were charging for the 580 EX II.
I went back to their website and saw that they only had a 20% return fee but no 10% cancellation fee. And the low price they had for the Canon 5D, they put “Japanese model” in small print which was hard to notice. I am not sure if a Japanese model exist.

Terrible Merchant. Stay away. lies, lies, lies.
Same BAIT AND SWITCH scheme as with everyone else. Offers low prices, then tries to sell adds on and "recommends" other cameras, then they tell you they are "out of stock" on the original item.

Those guys are professional thieves, is incredible the way they post a price for a product, when you call about it, they say this is a Chinese version, the best one is the other one (higher price) if you respond you don't care, you want the Chinese, the say it's sold out, classical bait and switch. This order is fictitious, I didn't have the chance to order.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS OUTFIT!! All of the other reviewers outline this very well. THE PRICES AREN'T REAL!!! They tried the same bait and switch tactics with me that they did with all of the reviewers below. I ordered a Canon EOS 40D package with 2 Canon lenses. When I had to call to confirm the order (beware any internet outfit that requires this), they tried to sell me the Sigma Lenses, same as everyone else. This was all after I was hung up on 4 times trying to make this call. They also tried to sell me $200 lens filters that I knew cost $15 and the battery wasn't included (which is clearly included in the Canon package for the camera body only at nearly all other outlets - it's the standard). The battery + charger cost $30 and they tried to charge me $300. They were extremely rude through this entire process. What a SCAM!! I called the next morning, told them I wasn't interested in their option and wanted my original order. Needless to say, I haven't seen anything (not even a response to my e-mails), so I cancelled my order. Looking at the ratings below, THE RATINGS ARE STILL TOO HIGH, THEY SHOULD BE 0.0000000. I'm one of the lucky ones, I do have documented proof of the entire ordeal and was able to cancel my order, but I'm probably lucky in this respect. Do yourself a favor and buy at a higher price and from another store - THE PRICES HERE AREN'T REAL SO DON'T BE FOOLED. I think the only positive review here was written by Satan - check it out on the 1st page, it's actually kind of humorous if you haven't already been scammed by this outfit. This is the 1ST REVIEW I'VE EVER WRITTEN IN AN ATTEMPT TO SAVE ANYONE WHO MAY BE THINKING THEY HAVE A GOOD DEAL HERE - this is a SCAM and more than likely you'll end up paying in the end. I've ordered from hundreds of online companies and never had an experience as poor as this.

1 Way Photo is an unscruplous outfit whose business practices border on fraud. Under no circumstances even consider dealing with this outfit.
The outfit advertises very low prices for brand name goods. I contacted the outfit to purchase some Nihon camera equipment. I was promptly called back by a salesman who gave me a pitch which went like this: "well you know there is an improved model out now and you will surely want it". "Do you realize that a battery is not included, you will definitely want the heavy duty battery for this camera "? "And of course the memory card is not included in this package, which you will need"? "In fact we have a specially discounted package that includes all these items plus many more specially discounted items which are thrown in; this is all described in our catalog".
As it turned out the salesman caught me at an especially bad time as I was conducting a lot of other business at the time. I agreed with him without checking the truth of anything he said. Most of what he told me was nothing more than lies, but it was too late. They quickly charged my credit card and shipped the merchandise and I was stuck.
On the web site there is a lot of fine print conditions of sale. One of the conditions was that specially discounted packages were not returnable and I had been sold a specially discounted package. On the web site one is led to believe that the shipping of package deals is free. I was charged $100 dollars to have the merchandise shipped UPS ground!
This was the worst ever mail order purchase I have ever made. I have tried to explain some of the tricks that happened to me in the hope that others will not be taken in by this fraudulent outfit. When the other writers described this outfit as SHADEY, I think they were being generous. Be warned and stay away from 1 Way Photo!

Stay away from this site!!!
These guys are totally crooked and dishonest. I picked a Canon 40D package at a very attractive price and spoke to the salesman who did initially con me into ordering many extras (totally unnecessary). After reading their reviews I panicked and called them back 45 min later to cancel. (I should have listened to my 6th sense while placing the order which was telling me something was wrong; but the greed of an amazing price did me in.) Well, he refused to cancel and said the "the order has already been processed". B.S.! Then he tried to force me by using a number of tactics. 1)just try it; I'll waive the shippping and restocking fee.2)if I put the charge on dispute with the C.C. company, he'll report me to the credit bureau. Currently I'm in DISPUTE.
