So I ordered the Panasonic HVX-205a - a P2 capable DVCProHD Camcorder. For 1,399. The cheapest price online!
They hadn't charged me by the next day so I called them. After a while, the same man kept transferring me to himself over and over again and then finally went over the order. He told me the camera didn't come with a charger, battery, viewfinder or LCD screen - it was a barebones body!
LOL. He placed the order anyway, at nearly three thousand dollars.
I called the bank and cancelled the card. I tried to call them back, but I got a message saying they were closed for the day. I told the bank not to let them charge my card.
If they attempt anything, I'm taking a train out to Brooklyn with ten of my toughest friends and we're gonna mess some people up.
They're located at:
5409 18th Avenue
in Brooklyn, New York.

Like many others I should have checked here before dealing with 1wayphoto. I ordered by phone and got the shmoosy switch. The $399 Canon XSi with lens grew to $899. The "one-time" battery needed to be upgraded for $200 and an extended warranty, case and UV filter were added by fast-talking Richard to make "the sweetest/best deal" to be found. After I contacted them 3 times to get a confirmation, I became suspicious and found the reviews on this site. Within 48 hours of ordering I called to cancel the order and was told it had been shipped less than 24 hours after I placed the order. The confirmation they finally sent gave "discounted camera package - $899" without giving the prices for the other items. Unfortunately, I was not home when the package was delivered by UPS and could not refuse it. I debated about opening the package, and I did a few days later. All the listed items were included. The camera box was unsealed and the camera was USED! The LCD WAS UNPROTECTED AND SCRATCHED. I have filed a dispute with AmEx for the purchase. AmEx has stopped payment to 1wayphoto. I'm keeping the box here until I receive return service labeling. This incident was a nasty reminder that cheap is cheap. STEER CLEAR. In the future I'll be sure to check this site for info about vendors from Brooklyn. This review was modified by its author, another1wayscam, on

1 Way Photo is not in the business of selling cameras that you want-they are in the business of selling you what they want. They play the Three-card Monte with the unsuspecting consumer and make their money by bait-and-switch, high handling and restocking fees, and grey-market equipment not intended for sale is the US. I am surprised that the law has not caught up with them and all other names they do business under.

I ordered the Sony HDR-SR11 at a great price, and on the WEB site says it is in stock.
I got an email to call for confirmation, and the guy tried selling me a charger for $150.
A charger on ebay for Car and AC is $12 including shipping ! ! !
I said I wanted the item as ordered.
After not hearing a couple of days I called and they told me the item was out of stock.
These guys should be out of business, liars, thives, crooks, and any other word you want to add.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THey will try to rip you off with add ons, like a 4G SD card for $500 (see on their WEB site), which you can buy for $12 at any electronics store.

Do not Buy from these guys they are big scam, I bought a 18-200VR lenses at advertise price 539.00 then the guy sold me the starter package which is advertise price of 589.99 and I ended paying 784.97, the up sale was to buy the VR-II for extra 50.00 and a filter kit which they call it "professional filter kit" this is BOWER 72mm which you can buy for less then 30.00 dollars also they charge me shipping insurance for 45.00, so I pay 194.98 extra.
I should bought this from AMAZON.COM

As with nearly every other customer on this website, I am extremely dissatisfied with 1 Way Photo and their bait-and-switch tactics. I attempted to purchase a camera there, and was informed that I had purchased the Japanese model. For $xxx more, I could get the American version and a lens that would actually work with my camera, rather than the one that came in their "package". Do not do business with this company. It is a scam.

Terrible Merchant. Stay away. lies, lies, lies.
Same BAIT AND SWITCH scheme as with everyone else. Offers low prices, then tries to sell adds on and "recommends" other cameras, then they tell you they are "out of stock" on the original item.

Reviews of 1 Way Photo are unfair. This is my favorite store. The workers are my most loyal subjects. The sales techniques they use I have taught them personally. They serve me very well.

Wish I would have found this site just a couple hours sooner...
I placed an order with this company online for $1299.99 total. No shipping, no tax. I had to call in to confirm my order and when I did, the guy on the phone started telling me I needed to get this and that could get me a better package deal. I went round and round with him because I didn't know what to do (I don't know the technical stuff about cameras). I asked if I could just cancel the order and talk to my husband and I was told there was a 10% cancelation fee (which I thought I had just looked over on the website b/c I had made sure I read the policies before placing the order). I finally decided to get a package he offered me which had 2 "better" lenses (or so he claims) then what I wanted. He said the lenses were a value of $1200. He told me the price would be $1549.99. I also confirmed no shipping and everything with that order also and he said yes. He told me I would get a new email showing my new order. After I hung up with him I decided to go to a (trustworthy) website and price the two lenses that he claimed where such great deals. I found they had a value of about $300 instead of the $1200 he had told me. I called my credit card company to see if I could stop the charge. I was told that he already saw a pending debit of $16xx.xx. I never got another email to see why I was charged more. I called 1 Way Photo back and told them I wanted to cancel my order. He then said " You are aware that there is a 15% cancelation fee" I told him that I wanted to see where it said that on the website and that the first guy had said it was 10%. He told me it wasn't on the website and so I told him I needed it in writing. He offered to send me an email. I told him I wanted to see if on the website (just so I can that they made customers aware of this before purchase). I asked how they can charge a fee like that if they don't have it somewhere in writing so you can be aware of it before purchase and he said "We just can". I will dispute any charge from them. Has anyone else that had this similar problem been charged anything to their credit card? This review was modified by its author, krusso, on

Do not order ANYTHING from these people!
This company's prices are fictitious. They have no intention of letting you buy the item at the stated price. If you resist their aggressive up-selling your item is now suddenly back-ordered. This will give them some time to work on selling you more accessories which should rightfully be packaged with the product. Example: I tried to order a Nikon D80 w/18-135 lens at the unbelievable price of $710.00 (I know, I know, if it sounds too good.......). After looking carefully I couldn't find the "Whats in the box" button common with most electronics retailers. Well, they don't want to say "whats in the box" because they have removed alot of it and will now attempt to sell it back to you at an OUTRAGEOUS price. After refusing to buy "accessories" my order suddenly became back-ordered. After another phone call by me (and another failed sales attempt by them)I decided I'd gone down a bad road with these people and was going to cancel. When I told the rude sales guy I was going to cancel he said "Fine, I'll send you an email".
If you don't "play ball" and buy all their over-priced accesories you will never see your item at the advertised price.
I consider myself lucky to be rid of them. There are also many other rip-off companies on the internet. BEWARE!
It would have been fairly easy to find out if this company is factory authorized by Nikon. Of course they are not.
I ended up buying my camera from Abe's of Maine https://www.abesofmaine.com/welcome.do;jsessionid=433102E3B6A05D498BFC533BD0012813
Needless to say I ended up spending more than $710.00 but my experience with them so far has been great. And I will actually get all the things Nikon wanted me to receive w/my camera. A good clue for me was when I was told no batteries and/or charger came with my camera from 1way. They (and a few other key things) must be purchased through them at an OUTRAGEOUS price.
DON'T DO IT!

Do NOT do business with these cheats. They advertise low prices, take your order, then call you to "verify" your order. During the call they tell you lies about how the product will perform poorlyu unless you upgrade the memory card, add a lens, buy the filter, etc. - and then they give you prices for these "additions" that are 4-5 times what you can buy them for at any retailer. They will tell you a camera doesn't come with a battery or charger, when the manufacturer says it's included in the box. It's all about scamming you.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE. I searched for three weeks for the best price on a Canon Rebel Xti and i found it here at 1wayphoto.com. Just like the rest of the reviews, i called to confirm and they were telling me how the battery that came with the camera would only last 15 minuets. I called a local well known store and they told me that is rubbish. I was worried this was shady so i cancelled my order hours after placing it. This site/company is absolutely absurd. I am definitely interested in speaking with others and notifying the Better Business Bureau in the state in which this company operates to get them shut down. Please use the link to contact me and lets take these shady people out of business.
This is absurd and probably illegal. There is no way Canon and Nikon would allow their products to be sold by a company like this.
Do Not Buy From These People.

Liars. They swiched orders, downgraded lenses, added unauthorized charges... rude custmer service. I have filed consumer complain, credit dispute... the battles are still going. I wonder why are they still operating after all these similer stories being told. What can we do to stop them?
