:mad:STAY AWAY FROM THIS Site.
To good to be true. I'm only going to state the facts, you make the call.
I ordered a garmin GPS from them.
I recieved an email that they needed to talk to me.
I called them to see what's up.
They said I didn't order a SD card with my GPS and I needed one.
I told them I have several already, I don't want one. (there price was way high.)
I didn't hear anything from them for a week and I called them to see what's up.
They told me It was now on back order and it would be at least 2 months till I get it.
I told them it said in stock and ship right away when I ordered it and they said it was a mistake.
I cancelled the order and I sent an email stating this.
I emailed them several times to remove my account information from their site and called them to do this also.
This started on DEC 18 or so. It is still in their computer today 1/20/09
My card security # is also shown.
ON 1/12/09 MY CREDIT CARD was compromised. I used this card for years and never a problem.
You be the judge...!!!
MY opinion STAY AWAY.

I feel like my recent experience with TechonDigital.com was a con-job. My dealing with them leads me to believe they are operating something similar to a switch and bait scheme.
I ordered the Garmin Nuvi-760 last week. The price was much lower than the market price, but their rating on EveryPrice.com was more than acceptable, so I didn’t think I was taking much of a chance to deal with them. After placing my online order, I received an email to call them in order to confirm the order. When I called I received a solicitation for many items that I did not want.
Two days after saying "no" to the long list of items on their sales pitch, I received an Email that stated:
“We thank you for your order and appreciate you shopping with us . Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We regret to inform you that the order is canceled due to the product being on backorder. when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding .” [I copied this exactly from the email, including the grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and sentence structure errors]
I have since checked their website many times since receiving the above notification, and the unit has constantly shown as in-stock. They have even lowered the price by $20.00 since I placed my order. They have yet to Email me indicating the unit is again available.
Finally today, I called in. When I first asked if the unit was in stock, the sales rep said yes. Then he told me that “the only thing it needs is a memory card”. When I told him no, he changed to saying the unit would not be available for 6 to 8 weeks. When I asked why the website shows it in stock, he simply hung up on me.
I don’t know if they have ever truly had the unit in stock, but the way they handled the sales pitch for the add-ons, I can only draw an assumumption that they have had the unit available this whole time. I don't think they will sell the unit at their advertised price unless I purchase more products that enhance their profits. If this is the case, it is very deceiving.
I’ll be forwarding this letter to both the California and New York State Attorney General’s offices, as well as to Support@techondigital.com.

My first bad experience also using e-commerce. This group is clearly a problem and should be avoided.
I placed an order for a Garmin nuvi 260W Wide-Screen Automotive GPS System camera for about 209.00 on their website. They called immediately to "confirm" my order, then they attempt to sell you expensive "accessories". When I refused they became argumentative and offered deep discounts on the accessories. After waiting a few days for confirmation that my order had I e-mailed them to find out the status. I was informed my order had been canceled due to a 6-8 week back order. When I checked their web site the GPS was now $225 and still in-stock.
Clearly these guys are classic bait and switch advertising low prices that they have no intention of honoring.
Stay away, they are trouble.

Found this purchase very shady. I was called immediately and "pressured" to purchase additional accessories. I did! (what a mistake that was)
I doubled the price of the camera I bought by accessories that were WAY over priced.
I learned my lesson.

I had same experience as others. Should have checked them out first. When I wouldn't buy their high priced accessories, the price they quoted to me for a "US market" camera was over MSRP! Sales reps were unprofessional.

Same problem as the rest of you had. It's a bait and switch scam. Stay away from 86th Street, too. Same company, using different name and website. Same jerk with a Jersey accent working both customer service lines.

I thought I was going to save $110 on a $500 Sony camcorder, by ordering from techondigital.com. I noticed their prices were very low on their cameras & camcorders, but very high on the accessories (like tripods, batteries, cases).
Afte placing the order, an email said to call customer service, I assumed just to verify credit card. No, they wanted to sell me a battery (the one that comes with the camera is only good for 15 min.), an extended warranty (a lot of returns on these camcorders), a tripod, and an SD card. When I said no, they were friendly no longer - "I hope you enjoy your camcorder", and hung up. A day later, I get an email "item not in stock, won't be for 6-8 weeks". I checked some review sites, and this place has horrible reviews. I've checked my credit card for fraud, but they don't seem to be involved in credit card fraud, just "bait and switch". Of course, their webiste shows this same camcorder as "Available" (as it has every day).
There are reputable companies that offer low prices, but this place ain't one of them.

Techon Digital was prompt and accurate on their low price. They did what they said they would and when it was a day late arriving they make it right. I highly recommend this company. I love the camera and they didn't oversell the attachements. I am very satisfied.

Order ID: 832569
Order Date: Sun Nov 18 08:29:23 2007
I had a dealing with techondigital.com and I concur that they are scam artists.
I ordered a Canon G9, received a order confirmation with a note to call their 877-425-993, went thru their high pressure sales and did not buy any accessories, and a week later when I was expecting the product, I received a order cancellation notice due to being out of stock!!!
Interestingly enough when I check their web site they currently do have the G9 camera!!!
They only want to sell, if they can make up for their low-ball price on selling you the accessories.
Do not deal with these guys. They are driving themselves out of business anyway, as the everyprice.com has already banned them from their site as of this writing. Hopefully we can catch all their aliases and link them.
I ended up buying the camera from Amazon.com.

Earlier this evening I placed an on-line order with TECHNODigital for a Nikon S51c camera. After the order process was completed, I received an email providing a phone # to call to confirm the order. I called the number and got a recording with thier hours. Shortly afterwards I received a call from TECHNODigital asking that I confirm the order. I did. This person then started a hard sell to upgrade the battery for the camera. I decided not to accept his offer. He continued, insulting me becuase I wanted to accept a poor battery that ships with the camera. I told him that I was not interested in any additional accessories and if he wouldn't sell the camera as advertised I would cancel the order. He said since I just told him to cancel the order he was going to cancel it and hung up. Shortly thereafter I received a second email stating the order was cancelled. I'm now concerned that I provided my Credit Card info. I would not recommend anyone do business with this company or any of its clones (e.g. DigitalNerds, Stargate Photo, etc.)

This store tries to bait you and then do a hard sell over the phone to purchase overpriced options. After declining the hard sell, they say either you item is out of stock for 6-8 weeks or the low price is only good on the Japanese version that must be serviced in Japan. AVOID THIS STORE. THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND. Simply cancel your order as I did and deal with someone who is honest about their prices. This review was modified by its author, jem110953, on

Ordered Nikon S51c - was called twice to try to sell me extremely overpriced extras ... when I declined - the next day received an email canceling the order, as it was suddenly "out of stock" for 6 - 8 weeks. Avoid this store at all costs. extreme hard upsell - and if you do not buy - they cancel the order.

I called to find out if the Sony DSC-H9 was new or refurbished based on some of the comments here and I was told it was refurbished. I asked where is it noted on the website and the customer service rep was RUDE!!! He said why am I questioning his answer. I asked to talk to a supervisor and he said that I could when I turned 21. Umm..I'm well over 21. I told him that I wanted to talk to a supervisor because of his rudeness. He said that I was talking to the owner.
I would not do business with these guys no matter what price they gave

The seller sent an email asking me to call to confirm the order. When I did so, he wanted me to buy a memory card and a battery. I declined. Two weeks later I still had not received the camera. I contacted the dealer and he stated they were out of stock but were expecting them in two weeks.. On June 5, 2007 I again contacted the dealer. He stated the order had been cancelled. I asked who had cancelled the order. He stated it was out of stock so it had been cancelled. I stated that for the past week, their website had that they had it in stock. He repeated that it was out of stock. I repeated that their website stated it was in stock. He then hung up on me. The dealer was extremely rude during every conversation. When I tried to call customer service, I got a message that to leave a message. This was followed by a message that I could not leave a message and the call was disconnected.

This place is a total scam! I placed an order and they would not ship the camera to me unless I purchased an overpriced extra battery.
