Well, given the previous reviews mine will come as no surprise to anyone. These guys are indeed crooks: they carry no inventory and charge you up-front. They give you no follow-up to your order saying they cannot fill it right away, and they never answer your e-mails. Their sister company, Taclighting, is even worse since their e-mail server does not accept incoming mails! As for their phone lines, they are busy 90% of the time.
I am surprised that in a civilized country where the rule of law is supposed to prevail some bait and switch operations like these are even allowed to exist.
I am going to file a dispute with my credit card company if I have not received a full refund within 3 days, I have already been waiting for almost 20 days.
Stay away.
Update: 12 days ago, they sent me an e-mail saying I would get a refund within 8 business days(!?), today is the ninth business day and I just sent a dispute through the online fraud division of my credit card company...
Update: I received a refund on Mar. 10th, 32 days after I placed the order and 18 days after I managed to get them to admit they could not fulfill my order because the knife did not exist.
It was a grueling process involving dozens of unanswered e-mails and phone calls to their always busy 800 number.
Please check their file with the Better Business Bureau at: http://knoxville.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=57&bbb=0533&firm=90002040

Whatever you do DON'T buy from this company. They misrepresent delivery times - lousy customer service. In my opinion they should be banned from selling on the internet

Having done a lot of business with web retailers since the internet was a "puppy", I'm a little embarrassed to report that the Blade Shop slipped past my "flake detector". My experience is much the same as many other posters, so I won't bore you with the details of my unfortunate transaction with these people. Complaining on web forums does alert others to the risks of dealing with questionable web retailers, but does nothing to solve the fundamental problem. I've filed a dispute claim with my credit card company as a first step. I suspect that The Blade Shop gets plenty of those and knows how to game the process. A reminder to all that complaints can be filed with the Consumer Affairs Division of your state's Office of the Attorney General. If you have the stomach for dealing with the federal bureaucracy, you can also file with the Consumer Protection Bureau of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. The only hope consumers have for weeding out the predators is to complain to the folks who can do something about it. This review was modified by its author, AlienWorld, on

Very, very disappointed.
I made a purchase from this store before, and had no problem with it, so went ahead with a larger order. Big mistake doing that with a popular item I suppose. Days without any communication other than order confirmation. Every single E-mail I sent were returned. When I finally called, the person at the other end told me two of the three item I ordered where in backorder.
Was told a mail was sent to me telling me of that-which of course I never received. Funny considering the order confirmations always made it to my mail box. Had no idea when the third item would be arriving, and told me second item would take two weeks to arrive. Had enough after having read through other reviews of the business conduct of this store. Seemed rather surprised when I said I would cancel all my orders-that's what happens when you do business this dishonest, wish people would learn that already. Will never do business with them again, and recommend that you do not shop for popular items in that store and call to get assurance about item availability at the very least. This company is the worst I have ever delt with! I'm just going to copy and past the email I just sent them. Place the order 2/22/09 got the refund 06/03/09 her is the email:
[Wow!! I finally have the refund. Only took two months. If you guys had a survey to fill out I would but probably it would be useless. when I ordered the knifes online it never said they were out of stock. then I was told a couple weeks. told this over and over for a couple months. So I bought the knife from cabellas for half your price and received it in 4 days. I then requested a refund from you. Told 10 business days. took almost two months and 8 emails and a couple phone calls. This was the fist time I used this company and it will be the only time I ever try. This hole experience has been a mess, problems like this can't only be a one time thing, there a serious problems with the way you guys operate. after this email I'm going to look online and find out how many other people have had problems and I'm sure it will only take less than a min.]

ordered with the blade shop on may 12. after a half dozen calls to customer service to confirm a delivery date, i had been told it had shipped on the 13 but received no tracking #. called on june 1 to check again and was told it was scheduled to ship that day priority mail and i should receive it that week. well 2 days later it did indeed arrive in good condition and as advertised. i dont know why it took 3 weeks to ship as i was never once told it was on back order. oh well got the product for a good price in about 3 weeks. i probably would be hesitant to order from them again just based on the fact that they were a little uninformative but nice enough.

I'm sorry to pile on here, but after weeks I finally have given up and decided to order from another source. I just called and was told my order was shipped by USPS priority mail a week ago. After reading their F rating with BBB I've decided to just go ahead and cancel the credit card charges. It's hard to believe a company can remain in business when it is run with either such incompetence or such dishonesty.

The blade shop is run by idiots! I placed an order and they shipped it to my po box. They never checked the order or contacted me before it shipped out to me. After not getting my order I decided to check online to see what happened to it. Only then did I find out that ups does not deliver to po boxes. ups listed it as undeliverable as addressed.I e-mail the blade shop and they told me it's not their fault, it;s all my fault. It's not their shippingt dept. fault ,It's mine i should know all the shipping rules out there in this world.I was also told it's not ups fault they never contacted me, it;s my fault too!
then they had the nerve to say that when ups deivers it back to them they won't cancel my order and they will charge me a 30% restock fee on top of it all! Thge blade shop is just a second run online out fit whose customer service motto is : It's easy to put blame on the customer" All the oter online companies tell you right away if something can't be shipped to you for whatever reason. Not the "Bladeslop"
Their lousy customer service procedures saves them time and boosts their profits too.Don't EVER buy anything from these bums!!

Hi, Out of everything that I have ever ordered online I can honestly say that doing business with this company "the blade shop" has by far, 'been my worst experience.... EVER....'. As far as customer service goes; well theres just not much there when you consider that I got the same run around as most all of you guys. I called 2 months after I ordered a blade and was informed that it was "on back order",(One would think that if a company had a product that was on backorder that they would list it as being so on their websight beforehand) My bad, I aparently should have "called" the blade shop 1st just to make sure that they had it in stock??? At least this is what I was informed as I was asking for a refund from the same folks that I spoke with the 3 or 4 previous times whome I called to check on the status of my Purchsae. well, after almost 3 months of waiting on a knife that was supposed to be a christmas present for a friend I decided that I would call again, Keep in mind that the last time I spoke with these people I was informed that they had the knife @ "their" location and that they were going to have it in the mail within 2 or 3 business days:). well after another week and a half or 2 I decided to call back today and find out the status. This lady told me the same thing again "well we have the knife here we just havent shipped it out. How do you do it guys? I mean this is america right land of the free to take advantage?!@# I mean land of the free right? At least I would have only been taken for $29.00 had I decided to just let it go or forget about it. I feel for you guys that have spent hundreds and had to deal with the same drama. I would like to know how do you do it? How dose a business aparrently handle so many orders and not have the courtesy to shoot an e mail or a phone call to their customers letting them know that there is a delay in shipping???How does one stay in business for 8 years treating folks this way? I wonder how many people just finally got tird of dealing with these guys and said "screw the money, they can keep it" $20.00 here 20 there. Now im not suggesting that these guys are total ripoffs:) I hope these reviews help. If you've read this hopefully it is before you have had to spend days on end arriving home from work expecting to find a package on the door step only to be disappointed. good luck & god bless This review was modified by its author, onemind, on

Do not buy from this shop unless you want to be charged immediately for your purchase and never receive the item. I tried them twice because they have the best prices but requested a refund after waiting 3-4 months with no knife ever delivered. EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE ON BACK ORDER!!!!

Stay as far away from this site as possible!!!!!! I wish I read these reviews before placing an order with this site's sister site www.tacticalgunarmory.com. They backordered my order and immediately charged my credit card, I have left numerous emails that have been ignored and tried calling their customer service number but noone ever answers!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rip off site, not sure I will ever get the holster I ordered and will have to get my Bank to collect payment from this fraudulent site.
Stay far away from these crooks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Spyderco Delica knife was also back-ordered for WEEKS, yet my cc was charged right away. They obviously carry Zero stock.
I telephoned for their price match "guarantee" but was given some BS excuse, and they refused to match.
Several WEEKS later my knife finally arrived but it was the WRONG model!!
STAY AWAY from this seller!
Your order will be back-ordered for Weeks, they Never honor their price match "guarantee", they have non-existent customer service, and they ship you the Wrong item to boot!
Save your money, time, and frustration. Buy from somewhere else. This review was modified by its author, tonyfour, on

I ordered a Benchmade Bali-song from The Blade Shop on 02/19/2008. I called the customer service department and they said that the knife was in stock and would be shipped the following day. On 02/22/2008 after checking the website and seeing that my order was “In Progress”, I called the CS dept. and was assured that the knife had been shipped. On 02/22/2008 when I still had not received it I made another call to the customer service department and was told that it had not shipped and was now on back order. On 02/22 I spoke with the head of the customer service dept. he apologized to me and said that it would be in the following week. It was not until I had spoke with the supervisor that the order status was updated on the web site. On 03/03/2008 I made yet another call to the CS line and was told that it was not in at that time but that it would be in by the end of the week. On 03/12/2008, after not receiving any e-mails I made another call to the CS line and was told that they still had not received the knife, but expected on one of their next few shipments. At this time I cancelled my order, and requested a refund, one month after my credit card had been charged. I will never use this company again. From the other reviews and my personal experience, it appears that they charge customer’s cards up front and use those funds to then place the orders with the manufacturers.

I ordered a knife as a Christmas present on 12/22 and payed extra for 2 day shipping in order for it to arrive. As of 12/29 I still had not received my knife. I called on 12/28 to check on the status of my order and send an email. The customer service number returned a busy signal all day. I called again on 12/29. After waiting on hold for nearly an hour and being shipped off to different people, the representative apologized for the hold time and offered to call me back later in the day with information. I still had not heard back from him nor received a response from my email by the end of closing on the 12/29. I tried again on 12/30 and was placed on hold again for nearly 15 minutes. After waiting, the representative came on the phone and said my knife was not in stock. They had never notified me, but had proceeded to charge my credit card on the day that I placed the order, knowing well that the item was not in stock. I demanded a refund and was told that the amount would appear in my account within 30 DAYS, although they had stated in their policy that my card would not have originally been charged until the item shipped. I am extremely dissatisfied with this seller, both in their product availability and their non-existent customer service. I have now been forced to order form another seller and will not be able to give the gift until well after the New Year. I will never order from them again and would not recommend anyone else do so.
