I didn't do any background checking before placing my order and found this site after the fact and became concerned. However, after just receiving my second order from the blade shop I wanted to take a minute and write a review since my experience was different from most others on this site. I received both my orders (one around $30 and the other close to $400) in a reasonable amount of time and the items arrived as described. I believe I was charged a fair price. The only thing I would caution if you use the free shipping option do not expect next day delivery. I used free shipping and it took about 8 business days to get my order which is what I expect from snail mail. My experience was a pleasant one and I will shop there again. I'm kinda an impulse buyer not too keen on shopping around and what not so anyways i ordered a knife from the blade shop on 10/29/09. The very next day im checking my bank statements online only to find i have been charged twice.(which over drafted the account its an expensive damn knife)I then called the bank they refused to take the one charge off unless contacted by the company
so i call the blade shop the lady said she could see where it showed up twice but one was declined(my fault there i typed in the wrong # on the back of the card) but that they were not charging me twice and it shouldent have shown up at the bank. she called the bank and attempted to fix it with no luck. fast forward 11/02/09 the blade shop emailed me saying my order had shipped and gave me the ups tracking number 11/3/09 Finally everything that was pending on my account cleared and guess what only got charged one time. also later that day i received my knife from ups. It was exactly what i ordered. after reading all the reviews of this company i had to write my own review i feel they did an excellent job on my order and even went out of there way to attempt to fix an error made by my bank. (its chase for now anyways)I plan to order from them again and would recommend them them to a friend

This was my first order from The Blade Shop.com, I ordered my knife on Friday Sept 25th It was shipped on Mon Sept 28th. I recieved my knife as described on Thurs Oct 1st. Thats some of the fastest service I have ever had. Apparently this company had some issues at the begining of the year but maybe they are fixing their problems. I am 100% satisfied with this transaction and will probably use this company again. This review was modified by its author, Airman135, on

I respectfully would like to add my comments to this forum. On April 4, I placed an
order with the Blade Shop for a knife. I used a credit card that I reserve for internet use only because it is easier to track purchases and the card organization has, in the past, been helpful in resolving disputes. On April 5, I received conformation of the order and received an order number. I received an e-mail that the order would be filled and shipped from their warehouse in 1 to 2 days. I read the sender of the e-mail and found it was from another company, JEL Enterprises. Last night, April 8, I read the comments on this forum and got worried that I might be dealing with a less than honest company. I was further worried when yesterday I read a memo on the Blade Shop website stating that the site was temporarily closed for maintenance and gave a phone number to call for assistance. This morning I called that number and talked to an operator, who gave her name, and told me that the purchase had been shipped and would arrive today April 9th. I wrote down the tracking number and checked with UPS.com and found the information correct. I received the purchase today , in good condition , 5 days (on the 4th working day) after I placed the order. I have no beef with this company and would do business with them again.

I placed my order for a Kershaw Blur on March 1st then on March 2nd I get a email informing me that all the Kershaw’s are on back order ,so I call the next day and they say it will be in on the 8th and sent to me .. And on the 10th my Blur arrived so I have to say all in all not as bad as thought so the Blade Shop gets a passing grade

ordered with the blade shop on may 12. after a half dozen calls to customer service to confirm a delivery date, i had been told it had shipped on the 13 but received no tracking #. called on june 1 to check again and was told it was scheduled to ship that day priority mail and i should receive it that week. well 2 days later it did indeed arrive in good condition and as advertised. i dont know why it took 3 weeks to ship as i was never once told it was on back order. oh well got the product for a good price in about 3 weeks. i probably would be hesitant to order from them again just based on the fact that they were a little uninformative but nice enough.

This guys are the worse lot of sorry slime I have had the disgrace to deal with. I would rather wade chest deep through a river of human excrement and rotten rats than deal with them again. To make a long story short. I ordered, they charged me. I never saw the items, I asked about it and they told me to copulate with myself. Oh and I put the order using Amazon who basically treated me in the same rough way.

Same as the rest of you this shop is a joke. i purchased a microtech from them waited three weeks and then i called as i had heard nothing. they said it was backordered and the website said it was in stock and ready to ship. so i changed models for one that was in stock. two weeks later i a get a knife that is totaly not what i asked for. I sent it back within a couple of days it took them a month to process my refund. When they did they took a $75 restocking fee. I callled them they said it was a misteake and that they wouyld refund it. months go by, all the while they come up with a new excuse. Then i decide that i'll use the credit and get it over with. I am shoked when they tell me that they don't owe me anything beacause i took to long to use kit. These people are THIEVES. Do not even think for one minuter these scumbags will be fair or take care of you, don't buy anything from them. they do not care about customer services and i as far as i am concerned i hope they go out of buissness.

The first sign that it's a bogus vendor is their "price match guarantee". I called to tell them that I'd found lower prices, and the person said he'd check into it and call me back. He never did. I placed an order anyway a few days later. The order was processed, then I received an email saying everything I ordered was on backorder. There was no indication of this on the website (unlike many vendors who tell you up front that something's not in stock). I called to cancel one of the items and get a refund. After 5 telephone calls ("You'll see the refund in 10-15 days", which is in itself ridiculous) over several weeks, no refund, and no clear indication of when the other items would be back in stock, I finally canceled the order and asked for a complete refund. I didn't receive the refund until I got my bank's representative to call them and tell them I was going to initiate a dispute. In short, a deceitful company and a pain in the ass. I also had to get a new credit card because I didn't want them to have my cc number!

Avoid this reselle, you order, they'll charge your card, and then the item will not be in stock, they will not credit your card back. Check online for many many more complaints filed. This review was modified by its author, valvestem125, on

I ordered two spyderco knives from the blade shop on 2/11/10. Their prices were the best . Unfortunately , I did not check them out before ordering . The knives have not arrived , today is 2/21, no emails from them . Today , I tried to access the website and got a blank page . I called my credit card company , and lo and behold , the knives are on backorder untill mid march . The credit card company got the Blade Shop manager on the line and I am supposed to get a credit card refund for my 176.00$ , within 10 days . The problem with the website was " fixed 5 minutes ago , must have been the server ." It was mighty convenient , because I could not contact them .Apparently , my experience is typical of doing business with the Blade Shop . We shall see !! The credit card company assured me they will get my money . This review was modified by its author, dogmom76, on

Same story, I didn't read reviews first. Charged my card, knife on backorder, can't get a refund from them. Mastercard is supposedly going to credit the charge. DON'T BUY FROM THEM!

Same story as most of you. I ordered three items (over $300, total) and got the whole items-on-backorder routine.
No, I didn't research them first. Lesson Learned.
At 85 days from order to nondelivery, I contested it with American Express. (They have a 90-day limit.)
THAT seemed to do the trick. They couldn't fill the order so they refunded the money. Still can't figure out what their business is, but it wouldn't surprise me if all they do is take credit card numbers and see if they can get folks to get tired of the hassle and wander off without offering any acutal services or merchandise.
Not the smartest thing to do to folks who are ordering sharp-edged implements of destruction.

After placing an order for an instock item my cc account was charged immediately. Nothing arrived for two months. After calling several times I received an email response that the item was back ordered and was expected in days and would ship out immediately. After another month I contacted the Blade Shop by phone and asked them to cancel the order and credit back the money which they said they would do. They did not do it. One month later it had not been done so I disputed the charge with AMEX who investigated and credited back the entire amount. The upshot of all this is that I would be very careful about this vendor, their communication was poor to nil, their delivery was zero and their followup was non-existant. I would not come back or recommend them.

DO NOT BUY from this dealer!!!! They are the absolute WORST internet dealer I have EVER dealt with!!!!
You Don't charge a card immediately for a knife thats on backordered and then play with my money for weeks before refunding the amount (which still hasn't happened)
They're policies stink and are not even realistic. Who treats their customers like that and expects to stay in business? They actually seem pleased with themselves on the phone.
Avoid these losers they're out to rip you off.
After checking around I found that their prices aren't good anyway. I made a claim with my card company today and will update this review when I have the final outcome.
It would be nice to see these dishonest, unprofessional guys closed for good. They're in business for the wrong reasons.
