I called them to give an order on the phone for a digital camera and made my order. I was said it will be arrived next day but it didn't come. When I checked the order number I saw that they canceled my order without a reason. It was on of the worst shopping experience.

I purchased a HP laptop from Staples with XP media edition and a 3 year maintenance agreement.
The laptop broke down and Staples repaired the it 3 times then decided they couldn’t fix it, “Central Service Depot is their useless repair center they tried to steel my original XP media Cds”, so they sent it into HP for repair. HP replaced the main board and about everything else in the laptop, which was find but now the laptop can only run XP home edition.
I complained everyday for about a month so HP replaced the laptop with a new one with Vista Home edition.
The laptop is fine but Vista Home Edition is a bigger piece of junk than XP home edition was. Now I am stuck with an operating system that was built for people that don’t do anything but internet, what a piece of JUNK”. I will never buy anything from Staples again. !!!!!!!!

The Dell XPS M1330 laptop is going on sales at the Chicagoland area from Aug 17. Contacted one of the store to make sure it is in-stock. They told me there are 2 in-stocks but when I arrived, they can't find anything in their storage. I visited another store the other day. Same thing. I contact Staples Customer Service to verify the stores' stock level. CS told me the laptop is still in-stock in the stores. Then I tried to explain what is going on at the stores. And he told me that there is nothing he can do about what the stores have in their systems.
The laptop was put on-sales but never has it in-stock. It is a waste of my time.
DO NOT believe any Sales Ad from Staples. Just like a car dealer, just try to bring you to the store and sell you something else.

Ordered a 2GB Sandisk SD memory card from Staples.com at a Black Friday sale price of $17.
They sent me the wrong card (a compact flash card). The packing slip correctly indicated what I ordered.
I emailed customer support and they stated they would send out the correct product to me AT NO CHARGE.
They then charged my credit card the non-sale price of $34 and stated they wouldn't refund it until they received the original product back.
The main problem isn't making a wrong shipment. It's the flat out lying done by someone who said they'd correct their mistake AT NO CHARGE then turn around and charge the card. My card was charged before I received the replacement product.

The USB drive I ordered, which was in stock, took two weeks to arrive. That is very unacceptable. It also arrived in a plastic bag mailer, with no packing materials to protect it during shipment. Also, the customer service representative promised to manually apply my Staples gift certificate to the order, as the website was having difficulties in accepting gift certificate codes. After the item finally arrived, Staples refused to apply the gift certificate. After doing a run-around through customer service representatives and faxing a copy of the certificate in, Staples still refused to honor their gift certificate. I ended up sending the item back, which resulted in my credit card being charged a second time before all charges were finally refunded. The Staples website seems to be full of glitches, and their customer service will not effectively remedy the problem when a glitch occurs. I will not order from them again, and cannot recommend them!

Ordered a bookcase (unconstructed), and it came with two left hand panels. I exchanged it for another. Second one came on Friday--this one had no holes drilled in one of the shelves, so also impossible to put together. Needless to say, I will be returning it, and will avoid purchasing furniture from Staples in the future. QC seems pretty questionable.

I blame DEALNEWS.com and staples for advertising great deals AFTER REBATE and then not honoring them. After doing some searching around I have came to the conclusion that Staples hardly EVER honors rebates. So instead of boring you with details I am just going to give them worst review of the year. THAT WAS EASY!

Staples claims 1 business day delivery, don't believe them. I waited all day for delivery, at 8pm I figured they were not coming. I checked my order online and it said it was not delivered and being rescheduled. No phone call no explanation why, just no delivery. As a small business owner I look for companies to do business with that are reliable, when I find them I give them all my business. Staples is not one of those companies. I tried to cancel the order but they said no, I have to refuse the order when it,if it, shows up. I also ordered 4 items, all were listed as in stock, but only 3 are listed in my order, again no explanation, just not there. I will not use Staples again.

Bought HP Pavillion DV5020 as a gift for my girfriend. Since I bought it in advance, when we unpacked it and found out it does not boot - it was already past the 14 days during which Staples accepts returns. At the store we had to wait for half an hour (with lots of employees wandering around with nothing to do) before someone found few minutes to tell us that do not care if they sold us broken computer. No returns, no replacements, no nothing.
Will never, ever do any business with Staples.

Ordered an internal 200gb hard drive on 3/13 with a promised delivery on 3/16. Didn't hear back till 3/22. So called up and found out the item is not available at the offered price (The sales rep said something about the item being scratched!). Offered to check for item at a higher price. Also, sales rep said they tried to contact me. Load of BS! I didn't find in voicemails. Cancelled the order.

They did not fulfill their end of teh bargain. After an initially good experience with customer service, they canceled my order due to insufficient product and did not offer any alternatives or promises for the same deal when in stock again. To me it appears to be unethical business practice to go as far as they did in the order process then just back out. I will not shop there in the future.

Staples sucks!! Here are my reasons:
I brought a TV from them,
day 1: reasearching order
day 2: Now
Day 3: shipped from ware house
It had a box number and everything. I called staples customer service, they said the item was out of stock! I was about to kill them!! i sent 4 days at staples.com and 5 hours at staples customer number. All useless. They said the order was scratched off!! How does a order scratched off if i had placed an order. It wasnt fair.
I give this 0 star. This is all a scam from staples! Out of stock after you buy it? I've never heard of that. I am so angry!!!!

I am profoundly disappointed with Staples Rebates. I purchased DVDs from them, and the rebate provider rejected my rebate for no reason. Maybe they figure for $6, most will not fight it. All I know is, Staples chose the rebate company to deal with, and they should be responsible for this fraud.

With a new store recently opening just 2 miles from my house, I thought I would give their dot com store a try. It was the experience from hell.
First and foremost I am not unfamiliar w/ online shopping (have been using computers for 22 years …. on daily basis, been on line for about 9 years, and shopping on line for about 7+ years), having made tens of thousands in sales and purchases – I personally buy more on line than I do from b&m stores.
On Nov 25th at 6:02 AM ET I began ATTEMPTING to make some purchases, but THEIR system would not generate the online coupons. I placed the order anyways, with the plan of calling and having the coupons added later in the day. After logging off, I logged back on and tried again, only to discover that their system was in comatose state hardly responding. I checked out w/ just 2 more items. This time I cleared the cache, deleted all cookies, and started fresh. Placed a 3rd order, this time all was going fine!!!!!! I have made screen prints indicating THEIR system declaring ALL items being “AVAILABLE” on the 3rd order, so logic dictates that IF they were to handle the orders on “1st come 1st serve” basis, all 3 orders SHOULD have been filled. A call to Customer Service took care of the missing coupons, as well as confirming that they were having system problems w/ coupons being issued.
All in all, between all 3 order we are talking about $2,300.
Fast forward 2 days, and I began receiving emails that the most important items on the list were not being shipped and no rain checks were being issued!!!!! Phone calls to their C.S. were an added waste of my time, and when faced w/ the logical question “IF ON ORDER #3, WHICH I HAVE PRINTED PROOF OF YOUR SYSTEM CLEARLY INDICATING THE ITEMS AS AVAILABLE, HOW CAN YOU INSIST THAT NONE WERE AVAILABLE FOR DELIVERY, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE 1ST ORDER WAS PLACED 2 MINUTES AFTER THE STARTING DEADLINE????” The response received was much that you would get if you were to put a printed sheet in front of an educated baboon, or, from a recording (clearly dealing w/ someone who, while courteous, is either powerless, or unwilling, to do squat for you/me). Considering the considerable savings, I called & spoke w/ the General Manager of the local store, BUT … while both, apologetic and sympathetic, he was unable to help, giving me a phone # to “corporate”, which in turn took me right back to the very same aforementioned bozos, so I just hung up.
Being one to vote w/ my wallet, I did not bother calling to cancell the orders. Once the delivery truck arrived ….. at 8:45 PM, I simply and kindly advised the driver where to return and place, the boxes containing the remains of my orders (no, not his, he was just the messenger and a kind man), in hopes that it will require a surgical procedure to have them removed.
As for the odds of ANY future business, from me, to Staples, is FAR LOWER than that of my winning the Lottery (which I don’t play).
I am uncertain of Staple’s cost of acquiring a customer, however, I am willing to bet that they would have been way ahead of the ballgame, under the circumstances, would they have offered a rain check for all BO items, and/or some kind of voucher, since I informed them that the I could have waited till the holiday madness was over with.
My alternatives to shopping at Stamples …….. other than endless choices over the net, Costco is 300 feet from the near-by store, Office Depot AND OfficeMax are ½ east, as are Best Buy & Circuit City, along w/ countless others, ALL within LESS than a one mile radius.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & Happy Holidays to all reading this (……unless you are a Staples “executive/suit” or a Customer (dis)Service Rep, in which case, (polite) words cannot eloquently describe how I feel about, my 4+ hours wasted on this “shopping experience”, as well as about my getting ripped off).
Lastly, if you are among the unhappy ones, and judging form their 5.81 Lifetime score we are the norm rather than the exception) next time you see an on-line ad for Staples, make sure to click on it ……again and again and again (deleting your cookies in between would help) so to cost this “merchant” some added expenses.
Adios Staples.
