I received my new gaming computer from Puget Custom Computers yesterday, and I'm very impressed! It arrived in pristine condition and configured exactly as I had specified.

Jon and his staff were very helpful throughout the process and quick to respond to my emails. In particular, Jon helped me choose between Vista 32 bit and 64 bit (I went with 64 bit), and even offered a free RAM/Motherboard upgrade that became available after my order had been placed. I appreciated the ability to track the build process on the Puget website and view benchmarks before the computer shipped.

Overall, I'm a very satisfied customer and would not hesitate to buy from them again.

My previous computer system failed and I needed a new one quick. I've previously built my own systems over the years and I knew it would take a lot of time researching all the components I needed. I've had experience with Dell and Gateway thru friends and co-workers and wasn't impressed with the quality of parts nor their customer service. Puget Systems customer service is by far the best I've experienced. Typical responses to my email queries were about 2 hours or less even at night. Clear and concise without trying to sell me the most, just what I needed.
The computer itself was a system I would have been proud to have built myself. Custom packaging provided excellent protection. Internal cable management was a dream allowing no vibration or obstructions to air flow. They even installed my copy of XP without adding trial junk software. A 3 ring binder was included that consisted of burn-in, benchmarking and quality control sheet showing the 81 check points used. All the while they were building it I could log on their site and see exactly where they were in the check points. I wanted a system that was upgradable in the future but would still be a top notch gaming/home theater computer for today. I also wanted it to be quiet. I'm happy to say Puget delivered above my expectations in every area.

I needed a purpose built machine for editing images from a 21 megapixel camera. I wanted speed and a lot of storage along with stability and an option to upgrade. Puget Systems has provided me with that machine. There was a bit of a learning curve on my part working with the 64 bit system but everything has been worked out and the machine has exceeded my expectations. They had some suggestions for adding an extra 80 GB hard drive to use as a dedicated scratch disk for CS4 and upgrading the 1 TB hard drives to WD caviar black that made the machine even better than what I had been expecting. Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Quad-Core 2.83GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM, Blue Ray and DVD burners for making hard copy back up and an Asus GeForce 9600GT video card. All at a great price with great support. The system is very fast, very stable and very quiet. Thank you Puget Systems.

I talked to these guys like 50,000 times before the order was even submitted. They took their time and answered all my questions. They looked for ways to save me $$. They have data galore on reliability ratings of different products and they only use the best. I have NEVER, I repeat NEVER worked with a company that's been as patient and forgiving and flexible with me. I will recommend others to them and I will only buy computers from them in the future.

I received my computer quickly. There was a small defect in the hard drive (I'm very picky; most people wouldn't have even noticed it) that took a couple days for me to discover. Once I found it, I called Puget.

They talked me through a couple of possible fixes, then said they'd rather get the system back so they could go through it carefully themselves, since we were unable to resolve the issue over the phone.

They sent me a UPS label over email and I shipped the system back to them. The problem has been difficult to diagnose, but they have systematically gone through the entire system and identified the issue, informing me of their progress along the way.

The offending part could not be replaced by the same part due to some incompatibility, so they upgraded me to a significantly better part . . . without charging me extra.

"It wasn't your fault, we feel bad when this sort of thing happens, so we're going to make it right," was what they told me.

I couldn't ask for better service.

Yes, the machine had a small problem that I discovered after a few days of setting up the system, but it's a machine made up of many complex parts. While Puget tests their machines thoroughly, no amount of testing can detect every single problem. Sometimes even the best machines have small issues early on. What matters is how the seller deals with the issue.

Puget has not failed me in this regard. I will continue to recommend them to family & friends and will buy from them again in the future.

ABSOLUTELY the best technology supplier I've ever run across.

Just a bit of personal background...

I've been using the WWW since it was the ARPANET. And, I was employed for many years by an organization that measured its computing power in "acres".

The gear is great. This is the first computer that has worked 100% without issue from the very get-go (less my own glitches), both the hardware and the software functioned perfectly.

Jeff Stubbers, the Puget staff-member with who I worked, was incomparable. He went FAR above and beyond even the best norm. I had pretty much already decided on a different system from a different supplier. I was just playin' on the 'Net on the weekend. He answered my emails even though PCC doe not work weekends. (He even answered my support question emails the next weekend when I screwed-the-pooch and his input helped me find my oversight.) I'd ordered my system on because of Jeff. He deserves a pay raise!

I received my system about 3 days ahead of schedule, and that was after I'd made a last minute hardware change!

The gear, and especially the staff, have me hooked. PCC is gonna' cost me some $$$ no doubt!

Puget Custom Computers = Peace of Mind!!!

my original open the box opinion of my machine was a bit negative. The case had a ding in it and the cover letter inside my 3-ring binder did not have the proper "PASSED" response in the Video Card and Burnin categories. This made me feel very uncomfortable that my machine was top notch.

well, Puget responded to my concerns immediately. they are sending me corrected paper work and a new side panel for the case.

In working with me to get this build tweaked, Puget responed very fast to any and every request for information over a five week period; they were incredibly knowledgable about any and all aspects of the build and included real world recommendations to both tweak the system and keep the cost down. can't say enough about their efforts to work with me. Once purchased, i had the computer in my home 2 days before i expected it!

this is an incredible machine and lives up to all my expectations. i would say that Puget needs to leave a second link similar to their "submit feedback" link that is a "Need assistance" or some such link.

Great machine. Wow. Let's hope this machine lives up to Puget's reputation, which they certainly need to rebuild with me. So far, i'm confident it will.

I got my Puget machine yesterday and took a look inside. Truly a quality built product. Who ever put this machine together paid great attention to detail. I am anxious to see how the machine performs over time. If there is a problem, I will be back to this site and document it butt for now everything is going well.

Puget is an honest, reliable, knowledgeable, and supportive company. They're very courteous and helpful from the very onset of the shopping experience. They answered my questions regarding my new PC and over a couple of weeks we built the computer piece by piece until it had everything I wanted. The actual build process was delayed by a few out-of-stock parts, but Puget kept me in the know via e-mail so it wasn't a big deal. They even send you pictures of your PC via e-mail once they've finished building it so you can salivate while it's on its way!

Shipping was prompt from Seattle to Los Angeles, and the packaging was plentiful and very tough, ensuring the machine was totally undamaged during transit. Unpackaged the new rig, plugged her in, booted her up, and she's been running beautifully ever since! They even did some custom WinXP installations for me, and set up all my RAID arrays in the precise manner I desired, and everything was fully updated, from Windows to the BIOS to each component's firmware. The internal wireing is kept nice and tidy, the parts are all top-notch and have thus far served me well. She's quiet yet well-cooled - Puget did a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier!

I've contacted support once via e-mail, and though my reply came almost two weeks later due to an outbreak of the flu amongst the staff, they were completely helpful in resolving my issue. Puget also gives you every spare part from the components used to assemble your PC, rather than keep them for their own use around the shop. Extra hard drive brackets, case fans, screws, other parts like additional USB and Firewire ports, driver disks, documentation, even the box from the PC chassis - all included so it's exactly like you built the machine yourself. Everything left over is sent to you. There's a three-ring binder in the package that gives you all the info you could want about your PC - factory test results such as benchmarks and temperature readings, support info for the manufacturers of each part, and even a list of the serial numbers for all components (making signing up for support with companies like XFX much simpler, as they require each serial number be registered before they allow you to download drivers).

One nagging problem is that my Firewire ports seem to act funny - the front port has been non-functional for a while, but I plan on contacting Puget support in the next few days and I've all the confidence in the world that they'll be able to help me fix whatever's wrong.

The main downside with Puget is that they're very pricey, but those who have shopped with cheaper PC builders know that the first thing to go is the quality of the customer service and technical support and the reliability of the components used, and with Puget you get way more than that - which alone would be enough! Yes, you get a rock-solid machine built from the highest quality parts with the lowest failure rates. Yes, you also get unlimited helpful replies from sales and tech support whenever you need it. But you get treated like a king, like you're the only customer that matters, with the PC's full complement of technical manuals and spare parts, and a notebook full of useful information for maintaining your machine for years to come. It's worth the extra bucks, unless you just want to get the best computer for as little as possible and roll the dice with subpar components and dodgy service. I did that and I got royally screwed. Cost me a ton of money. Never again. For pro's who need machines that don't die and support personnel who will trip over themselves to get you what you need if something does go down, I can't think of anything more Puget could be doing right now to further earn my complete trust and future business.

Alert! If you are looking for the best custom built computer, excellent and knowledgeable assistance through the build and order process, excellent communication during the build process, a system that exceeds all expectations, please do yourself a favor and look no further than Puget Custom Computers!

I ordered the system early in February 2009 and received excellent and invaluable advice on choosing the best components for a silent running system able to perform well under multi-tasking duties, and within a budget of approximately $2000.

The Puget staff was friendly, courteous, and very assuring that the unit would be exactly as I wanted it to be. In addition, he made me aware of a current discount that lowered my cost significantly. The build was incredibly fast and the website kept me up to date on each detailed stage of the process. Without a doubt dealing with Puget is the best experience I have had with a custom built computer company and I am sure to buy again and will wholeheartedly recommend Puget to family, friends, and colleagues.

Upon arrival within one week of placing the order, I was first impressed with the packaging of the entire unit and the complete notebook with the configuration and all software included. I have seen that before in other computers I have purchased but I think Puget did the best job of any of the five custom built systems I have had in the past.

The system was easy to hook up and worked like a charm on first switch-on. I absolutely cannot believe how QUIET it is. I am often not even aware it was on without checking the light on the front. Silence is golden. My last computer sounded like I had a truck revving up under my desk. Your advice on all the components was spot on. The system is amazingly fast and nimble and all components first rate and perform exactly as expected.

If you are in the market for a new system I highly recommend Puget. You will not be disappointed and I am sure their excellent customer care will make you a lifelong customer.

I ordered the (mostly) prefigured model they call the Obsidian - it suited my budget (about $1,500) and my hardware needs (databases and older RPGs like BG2 and NWN). During the build process Puget not only kept up a constant dialog about my needs and wants (thanks, William), they also transferred all of the files from my old hard drives (2) to the new hard drive. The computer arrived in a box that could have doubled as a bomb shelter - needless to say, it was in perfect shape. There was good documentation, and all of the CDs (OS and drivers) were included (I like that). I popped in the ethernet card from the old PC, fired it up, and it ran perfectly. As a follow-up, Puget was more than happy to keep answering my questions after the sale. When I need a new computer in the future, I will definitely deal with Puget again.

At all times I felt I was in good hands and had a sense of security that I would end up with a great quality system and shopping experience, despite a couple of road bumps (more below) along the way. Puget Systems always tried to do the right thing.

Road bump #1: The first motherboard they installed had a problem during testing and had to be replaced. I was glad this was caught during testing at their end. Unfortunately, they were out of local stock so I hit a couple of days delay while they waited for a replacement to be shipped.

Road bump #2: After receiving the system, some games were crashing in particular areas. Experience told me there was a graphics card hardware problem. I emailed tech support and they concurred. I really appreciated is that they did not have me go through an endless list stupid to things to try out that I had already ruled out.

Their RMA ships out a replacement card before they receive the defective one. The (brand new) replacement card was not identical to my original one, but used a slightly newer and improved GPU. Shipping back the defective one was at no cost to me and hassle free, as they emailed me a prepaid shipping label.

My new PC works flawlessly now and I really couldn’t be happier. Due to the excellent way they handled the road bumps, I highly recommend Puget Systems.
