I just received from Puget Systems an i7 920 oc'ed to 3.2ghz only (to stay quiet),6gb Corsair XMP DDR3-1600 ram, Radeon 5850 1gb, CM V8 cooler, case fans upgrade in an Antec 183 case (again to stay quiet) and other routine components. I am a flight simmer (FSX and Accel) and wanted a capable but quiet system. Puget reps warned me that current hyper games would raise core temps to the point where the V8 would be heard and might require a different cooling system.
I decided to go for it as configured because my comfort level with Puget rep feedback was way high compared with other box builders I talked to. If I have to modify the system to do what I want, I am satisfied Puget is committed to and capable of the necessary follow-up work.
I loaded and ran FSX and Accel to see if I would have a noise problem and was pleased to find that the f18 jet performed smoothly without pauses or freeze framing, which was not true of my old Pentium D system. And the box remained dead quiet under load. I have yet to hear a fan. Core temps only rose from 46-50C idle to about 67C under load.
Hard core gamers may need to go for liquid cooling on a similar system to stay quiet. But for my purposes, I am totally satisfied with my system as configured and the quality of the people who advised me and built it.
An additional comment. The Antec 183 case is a quality box and looking inside I found the installation of components is clean. No snakey cables confusing and obscuring the view, etc.
This also is the first modern system I have bought without crapware to uninstall and deal with when it proves persistent. I have bought 5+ of them. That alone is worth the slight extra cost of choosing Puget Systems. My box was not going to be cheap no matter who I bought from. Given the risk of paying meaningful money for a high performance computer and finding something less than I expected (eg fan noise), I am convinced I made the right decision.

After getting burned by a previous company, I was hesitant to buy from a custom computer company for a while, but I'm glad I did. Puget has been excellent throughout the entire process. They shipped in a very short amount of time (without charging "rush" prices for it), and the computer is almost inaudible. It runs fantastically, and I would certainly recommend Puget to anyone looking for a new computer.
I did need to contact support for shipping damage; the side panel was damaged (through no fault of Puget's, the packing was great. Someone REALLY banged against the box, it teared a huge hole through two boxes). They not only sent a replacement quickly, but they upgraded my warranty just in case anything in the computer might have gotten damaged. This review was modified by its author, Queue3, on

This is the first time I have purchased a computer from Puget Custom Computers. But when the time comes to order a replacement, I already know who I'm going to order it from! From the day I first saved a quote on the Puget website in late August 2009 until the time I placed my order in October 2009, I dealt with just one person at Puget Custom Computers. Wilson stayed on top of everything from start to finish, and his quick response time to email was amazing.
I wanted a quiet computer. I expected there was no way that a computer with as many fans as my new one has could be pleasant to be around, but it is. I can't believe how much less noise it puts out versus my old Micron computer.
The exceptional workmanship shown inside the desktop computer with the wiring, the spare parts, binder, manuals and instructions shipped with the computer, and excellent packaging of the product are all first-class.
Two thumbs up for Puget Custom Computers.

I purchased a customized computer from Puget Custom Computers in 2007. I needed a silent desktop to be used for both podcasting and video/photo editing. They produced exactly what I needed at that time and I've upgraded it twice since then. At all times they have been responsive (usually within 10 minutes of receiving an email) and helpful. As I upgrade other computers, I intend to deal exclusively with Puget.

My Puget Systems laptop M510i is a huge improvement over the HP Pavilion v6000 I had been using. I use it mainly for travel, photography and film editing. Not only did they build a great machine, but they built it the same day they received the processor and I picked it up the same day. Wilson, Daniel and Dan are all great to work with and provide terrific support. No call center with a matrix book to deal with or to try to explain issues to. Everyone is helpful and extremely knowledgeable.I saved $127 using options that Wilson suggested. Daniel provided answers to a file management issue that I had been struggling with. My desktop is also from Puget Systems (puchased in 1/09) and they continue to provide outstanding support without asking "when did you purchase...." I'll never buy another PC from anyone else. Puget Systems is the best! This review was modified by its author, bodori, on

I first looged into Puget Custom Computers Internet side in August 2009, at that time I was just looking for what will be available and the approximate cost.
What a surprise I received. The Puget Site was very easy to stroll around and their estimate system allowed for one to play what if games and not needing to complete any quotes.
The amount of information that was available and the choices of all the different components that I could choice from was almost an overloading factor at first. Bit with their information screens on the options it really helped in the decision factors.
After several dummy runs, I finally placed a quote through Puget. The very next day, I had a reply on the quote where they were recommending several changes to the quote to provide the best system and at the lowest cost.
Their Rep: Williams was very helpful and I must have exchanged at least six messages on what if questions and the overall difference in several components. William was very much out to try to save me money, but in my case I was looking at overall practicality and not so much money.
In the long run, the Quote was finished for a I7 950 CPU; 12 GB Memory and 2 1/2 TB storage. Everything was a go as soon as Windows 7 became available, for I did not want to upgrade from Vista.
From the time the Quote was finished and turned into a confirmed Order, it was very interesting to be able to visit Puget's site and see the progress that taking place on building my computer.
Finally the computer was totally built and Microsoft had provided Puget with the Windows 7 software and Keys. The Computer was then prepared for shipping and Delivery to me.
Three days later, I received my shipment. Wow, I could not believe the size of that box. It took the Driver and Myself to carry it into the house.
Next came the unpacking. There you could see the care that Puget put into assuring that the computer was packaged well for travel.
Next was the true test. Connect my existing external devices and the plug the system in. Again, I was amazed at the speed of initial load and as to how straight forward it was to answer some basic questions to finally have a operational computer.
I have not dealt with a Custom Computer place on the internet before, however, I have dealt with several locals in our town.
Puget can be considered nothing but Outstanding in every aspect of the process from Building the quote, to building the machine, to preparation of shipping the computer.
Their internal work on putting the computer together just amazed me. Never before have I seen a computer where every wire had it's place and nothing was left just balled above the motherboard and near the drives.
I Salute Puget for an Outstanding job and will be recommending them to everyone I know that wants a great system.

Puget Sytems lived up to expectations. Customer service was top notch, price was competitive and the finished product was exactly what I wanted. I was tired of the off the shelf PC and wanted something configured for my individual needs. Puget provided a good starting point based off some of my basic requirements and I went from there. William reviewed my config and suggested a few minor changes. He didn't try to upsell me, he just tried to make sure I had the right components that would allow me a clear upgrade path down the road. I took every one of his suggestions and placed the order the next day. The build was quick and delivery came early. I had slight problem with the video card, but a replacment was shipped out the next day. Daniel on the tech team helped me install it and then checked back to make sure things were working fine. I love my new PC and wouldn't hesitate ordering from Pugent Systems again.

Pre-ordered a high-end Win7 build and it was shipped on the release date of Win7 and I received it a couple days later. The whole process was awesome thanks to oustanding customer support from Puget. Puget checked over a build I submitted for feedback and recommended a new graphics card which met my 3 monitor requirement and made some other changes that actually lowered the cost of the PC. Frequently updated status reports detailed the quality assurance process and benchmark testing and I even received pictures including thermal imaging right before they boxed it. My i7 920 is overclocked over 35% and runs stable and cool, you would never know you are using an overclocked processor except for the speed. Outstanding experience and PC, I wouldn't shop anywhere else for a premium, worry-free PC.

I started my own business this past summer. I put a great deal of energy and effort into researching the hardware and software that I knew was necessary. On my first assignment that required 1080i HD, I discovered that the computer that I had purchased would not upload my footage. After more than two weeks of troubleshooting with technicians from the various vendors that supplied my hardware and software it was determined that the supposed HD video card within my new computer was not functioning as advertised. I ran a system scan on the computer to discover that it had critical errors within the hardware prior to my receiving it as well. I went to ResellerRatings.com to discover that the well known vendor had a rating of 1.6. After wrangling with the vendor I received a refund and using ResellerRatings.com I contacted Puget Custom Computers. I worked with Jeff for several days and through email communication I explained the nature of my business and the software I was using. Jeff and William both made suggestions that they felt would meet my needs and, were within my budget. I received my computer one day earlier than promised and so far it has lived up to every expectation. I was able to upload 1080i HD videos with no problems. With the technical support and customer service I received I have no intentions of ever buying another assembly line computer. Because of the high quality in the product that Puget has delivered to me, I am able to deliver a high quality product to my clients.

It's been almost 40 days since delivery, and I'm still extremely happy. The cabling alone is worthy of NASA. They patiently answered every noob question I threw at them. I had returned a competitor's system, without having decided which vendor I would turn to. It was then that I looked hard. I spoke to them on the phone. I used their Web resources. So I'm picky. For that reason, I went with Puget.
My Puget system was hand-made in the USA, and scored a higher Windows Vista performance rating than the aforementioned mass-merchandised rig, at about the same price. This review was modified by its author, kevanesh, on

Excellent!! I don't know how else to express the fact that the entire experience (qoute to delivery) was exceptional. Puget was professional, knowlegeable, thorough and well organized. The documentation was clean, organized and relevant. They went above and beyond my expectations. I would definitely recommend Puget for any custom build.
