Briefly, I purchased a "Vornado Heater" for $87.92 from "homebrands.com".
On October 19, $87.92 was deducted from my PayPal account by a "Metro Market Sales".
On October 31, I received a UPS notification that a "Gary Benson" entered a shipping bill for an 8 lb. item.
As of November 11, the item has not shipped yet, as the UPS tracking indicates.
I have previously emailed the customer service address (mailto:admin@homebrands.com) for an explanation of the long wait, as well as requesting a refund.
I have not had any response whatsoever from "homebrands.com", and I'm currently in dispute with PayPal to get a refund.
Here's where it gets interesting (I did my own online investigating)....
The address of "homebrands.com" and "MetroMarketSales" is: 1204 Avenue U #1087, Brooklyn, NY 11229 which, thanks to Google Street View, is a Mail Drop address. Their 'Customer Service' phone number (their website states is 'down') is: 718-989-9318, which is a recording. Feeling immediately uneasy, I check the Better Business Bureau online. Well, it seems "homebrands.com" also does business as: dotcom project, giant savings, homebrands.com, ikitchen.com, kitchenhomegadgets.com, hcg logistics, metromarket.com, and many more, according to the BBB listing, along with their warning not to do business with them.
Visiting "metromarket.com", one finds a similar merchant website, and when clicking "about us", one finds a photoshopped "Metro Market Stores" storefront supposedly at the same Avenue U address with a "Please visit our store when in the neighborhood". Yeah, sure.
Upon furthur investigating online, it appears that there are HUNDREDS of complaints against this company by other customers getting charged for their purchases, and not receiving their items, not only from "homebrands.com", but "ikitchen.com" and other related webstores.
"HomeBrands.com" are apprently run by a "Dave Balas" (real name: David Balassiano), also listed at 256 W36 St NY, NY. It also seems "HomeBrands.com" Corporation is listed at 2439 South 11th Street, Niles, MI 49120 and phone number: 616-683-7080, also a recording "Lines are Temporarily Busy".
"aboutus.org" lists "HomeBrands.com" contact as: FurnitureFind Corporation 616-687-8653, also a recording "Lines are Temporarily Busy".
You see where this is going.
A search on "my3cents.com" of "ikitchen" gives one a plethora of customer complaints.
I can go on with more information I've discovered, more supposed company addresses, etc., including finding that the domain, "homebrands.com", is 'privately listed' with WhoIs.
So, one can see this company does a fine job of presenting themselves as legitimate online, but in reality, they are accepting lots of orders, but not shipping product, hence, a fraud.
I'd like to make sure others don't get taken by this now-obvious scam.

I've ordered several small item before this one no problem, they were all under $20 items. Then I figured things would be fine so I did the big order, two items, through paypal, to the tune of over $600 dollars. I was charged against my bank account for one item ($252.91) two days later. The larger item wasn't charged to my bank from Paypal for some reason? I did receive confirmation from iKitchen, and or course paypal, but after two weeks nothing about shipping confirmation? I emailed and received a form letter two days later stating it was being drop shipped directly from manufacturer and they didn't have any additional information? Waited another week and requested a phone contact by email, 3 days later I had a number. I called and was told the same thing as the original email reply and they could give me no time estimate and we're unwilling to contact the manufacturer directly. So like a fool I wait another week or so--nothing! Tried calling the phone number over a week period, now the number doesn't go through. Tried a few more emails as well--no replies. At this point I filed a dispute with Paypal but since 45 days elapsed I didn't meet their criteria. Thank goodness I checked resellerratings, I read the comments from the person who found them through BBB and what their actual names are. Now at least I feel I have some recourse. I just filed a complaint with BBB and hope to have resolution soon? This company commits fraud and should not be allowed to steal from unsuspecting consumers!!!

My advice: 1. Don't buy from them. 2. If you do, keep a log, document everything, and be persistent. I think they count on keeping the money of those who give up or can't be bothered.
I ordered a Braun Plaque Remover model D6011 on May 9, 2008 from iKithen.com after an Internet search suggested their price was quite good. I got an email confirmation promptly (and also started receiving a couple of email advertisements a day). In May 15 I got a UPS electronic shipment initiation notice. However the first actual scan on the UPS log was when the package departed Brooklyn on May 22. On arrival at the end of May, the external package was beat up in a way suggesting that it had already made several roundtrips. The contents appeared fresh and undamaged in original shelf packaging, but it was the wrong toothbrush. (Oral-B Vitality “Dual Clean” D12513P). The wrong toothbrush was not what I wanted, and listed (along with the right one) on their website at that time at a lower price.
June 4 I used their prescribed web site interface at: http://www.ikitchen.com/info.html#contactus to complain, demanding that they cancel their order and refund my money, and offering to return the wrong product at their expense. On June 8 I received an email in apparent response, which provided the means for me to print a prepaid UPS shipping label for the return (this step is the only step in the whole process that went well).
June 9 I shipped the product back, with all documentation including the RMA number on the package outside. UPS reported the product arrived on June 16.
On July 8, having received no communication nor a refund to my card, I emailed again demanding order cancellation, confirmation of receipt of the returned goods, and refund.
July 10 I got an email reply, asserting it might take as long as 60 days for my refund.
October 20--still no communication, no refund to my account. I sent another email specifically threatening to refer the matter to account services at my credit card company.
October 27 I received a response, acknowledging they had received my return, and asserting they had that day refunded in full.
October 29 the refund actually appeared in the online logs for my card, with the merchant name given as "METRO MARKET SALES, I - 917-533-5729 NY".

As with everyone else who posted reviews, I did not do my homework before ordering from this company. I assumed Yahoo Shopping would only list reputable merchants....Finding it odd that the only confirmation I received was from Pay Pal for the payment, and no correspondence whatsoever from iKitchen/homebrands.com/metromarket.com (all one and the same), I began to investigate. Each review was a nightmare. Just as stated, their websites have no contact number or mailing address. Only email links that are, for the most part, not legitimate. One week after placing, and paying for, my order, I went to the Better Business Bureau's website. Once I was there, metromarket.com and iKitchen both proved futile, however I hit the jackpot when I typed in "homebrands.com". They are located in Niles, MI and the case was handled by the Western MI BBB in Grand Rapids. I filed with the BBB on Oct. 27 and received an email today (Oct. 30) from Michele Adams of iKitchen (email addy is madams@ikitchen.com), apologizing for the fact that they "would not be able to provide the item I ordered" and that the full price would be refunded. Sure enough, I also had an email from Pay Pal, showing the refund. Whatever you do, file a complain with the BBB!!!! They will immediately contact the merchant and that seems to do the trick.

Well I guess I should have used this site before buying. After waiting for a month for my iron I finally sent numerous emails before I got a response that it was on backorder and they didn't know when they'd get any. I've asked them to cancel my order and ordered the same item from Amazon on Monday...got it today with free shipping. I got drawn in to iKitchen as they were slightly cheaper. After reading the reviews about used items I'm glad it didn't arrive. Why do I even bother with sites other than Amazon? Hopefully I won't have too much trouble with cancelling the order from them...

I ordered a waffle maker from iKitchens and had a difficult time getting any information about them related to a long delay in shipping. Now, two years later, the product has stopped working and I JUST DISCOVERED that it's refurbished -- a fact that was not made at all clear on the website (although I just found the fine print, 2 years later.) Well, that explains the great price!! I'm not a fan of this store.

I had ordered 2 items. A Roma strsainer #07-0801 and a set of strainers #07-858. The strainer arrived but no strainers. After months of haggling iKitchen did refund my money for the set. Without the set the strainer itself was worthless to me. I sent the sttrainer back, according to their rules, but here it is a year later and I still did not receive my refund.

These people are professional rip-off artists. You can't get a straight answer out of them.
I had received an e-mail stating that UPS had received billing information and the package would be received on July 24.
Here's the follow-up. After numerous e-mails which were never answered, I finally was able to contact them by phone (although their website says that their phones aren't working! Ha!)
I asked that my order be cancelled and asked for a refund. I was told that my card would be credited in a couple of days and that the credit would show up on my bank statement. I did get an e-mail stating that the order had been cancelled but my card was never credited.
I got through by phone again and demanded that they issue a refund. Again, I received an e-mail stating that they had issued a credit. I'll check with my bank to see if this is true. If not I'll take further action. It's against the law to take money for merchandise under false pretenses.
They continue to send me their e-mails advertising their outstanding deals. I also requested that they take my name off their e-mail list as I would have to be crazy to ever try to buy anything from them again.
Never heard another word. The package was never sent to UPS and I have tried to contact IKitchen numerous times -- their mailbox is full, they just don't reply, etc. etc. ad nauseum. I finally got through to a real live person and got the royal runaround.
I'm going to report them to the FTC and see if that will help.
More Update ==
Checked with my bank and although iKitchen senet an e-mail saying my account was credited and the customer rep assuring me that it was, they still haven't refunded my money.
They are avoiding phone calls -- out of order, disconnected, mail box full etc. etc -- won't respond t e-mails.
I had also asked them to take my name off their e-mail list and their rep had assured me that it was -- I'm still getting their phony ads. How can a company like this stay in business? This review was modified by its author, sammyjane, on

I should have done a search before getting tied up with this
vendor. I placed an order on July 26th and got a confirmation of
the order. Thereafter, I inquired about the shipping status
and like so many others, received nothing in the way of
information. All attempts to contact the vendor have
been futile. I am in the process of charging back the
order and will never deal with this vendor again. Beware!
Just to show you the sort of crooks these people are, I received
an email Aug 8th, after much prodding, stating that the item had "fallen out of stock" and would shipping would be delayed and at the same time they were advertising the same book as "Overbought Emergency Clearance" on their website. I can not
stress this enough! Do Not Deal With These People! This review was modified by its author, ToolMaven, on

Wow - unbelievable that they are still in business. They are Non responsive, have taken my money and still have not shipped the product 30 days later. Shame on me, I should have searched for online reviews prior to ordering.

BUYERS BEWARE!!! A friend from work recommended this site. She ordered something and got it right away. So I ordered 2 cordless vacuums for $19.99 each on 7/3. On 7/7, I got a UPS email from MM Logistics saying billing information received. On 7/10, I got another UPS email from K & CG Sales saying billing information received. I googled both companies and cannot find anything about them or how to contact them. I sent an email on 7/14 to ikitchen to find out which email was correct and which one I should use for tracking. I got a generic response back on 7/16 saying "we will attempt to trace this order" and "we appreciate you as a customer". Nothing helpful. So I decided to wait 15 business days, and my order did arrive on time. But both vacuum boxes had been opened and re-taped. All the attachments were loose in the bottom of the box, and there were bags that were once sealed, ripped open and then just shoved back in the box. I have no manual or any paperwork on this vacuum. I have a spare part that is not even part of this vacuum. One vacuum had been used, and had HUMAN HAIR inside the vacuum and wrapped around the brush. I am completely disgusted with this website and my vacuum. I'm afraid to even open the other vacuum. I'm not listening to my friend anymore.

HomeBrands.com and iKitchen.com etc all are same, they have so many names to cheat us. Unfortunately I got into trap of cheap price. The product was available for $25 on Amazon and this site price was $20.
Now I am realizing my mistake. This company will not respond to emails. I started sending emails after waiting 14 days.
Their email response is JUNK that is nothing to do with order. They dont have phone number to call.
I recommend others NOT to use this for online shopping. I was thinking to file compliant with my Credit Card Company.
This was my bad experience ever.

Ordered this item "In Stock" on April 24th. Was billed right away, even got a pre-shipment notice, but never got this item. According to iKitchen.com, this item is now back-ordered, even though it shows as in-stock still on their website. After promises from their customer service for a month that they would ship me something, I decided to cancel the order.
Two weeks and 3 emails later, I'm still waiting for the refund that they've told me twice now they've refunded.
AVOID THIS WEBSITE AT ALL COST.
btw, one month after this review I finally got my refund. AFTER calling the BBB on this company. This review was modified by its author, eDaddyo, on

Do not buy from iKitchen aka ekitchengadgets.
Taking one persons money and not delivering could be a mistake.
Taking 100's is FRAUD. This company is likely to be a part of a class action lawsuit soon. Don't make the same mistake I did of falling for the lowest price.

Dont buy from this store. They charge your credit card and dont deliver. An 'in stock' item now becomes 'out of stock'. No customer service. You can only inquire after 21 days via email. Then they give you the runaround. Requested to cancel order, but no response until called my credit card to dispute the charge. Only then they said they will "try" to cancel the order.
This company is a joke. Avoid it like the plague.
They will just take your money and don't deliver.
I learned my lesson. I should have read the reviews first. There are thousands of very negative reviews. They should be reported to the BBB. Maybe this will stop them from ripping people off.
