I placed my order for a knife sharpener on 1/18/09. After two weeks of waiting for delivery, I emailed iKitchen to inquire about delivery. iKitchen propmtly responded with the claim that the item was backordered and they would rush my order to me when it becomes available in "another approximately 1-2 weeks or so".
I was irritated that they sold me an item that they don't even have in stock. I was more irritated that they didn't even bother to notify me of the "backordered" status until I inquired two weeks after the order was placed. The price for the sharpener was lower than I'd seen elsewhere and I was already on the hook for two weeks so I took them at their word and waited.
And now, after a month of waiting, I receive an email cancelling my order because the item is no longer available. It only took them a month to figure this out. Out of curiosity, I checked their website today and THIS "BACKORDERED/UNAVAILABLE" ITEM IS STILL LISTED FOR SALE!
But, as a consolation, I did receive a %10 discount code. Now I can buy another "backordered" item and wait a month for it not to be delivered. No thanks. I will not be placing any more orders with iKitchen. But at least I still have their SPAM emails to remember them by. This review was modified by its author, thatsmytwo, on

I ordered a Cuisinart MCP44-24 from iKitchen. After no sign of the item 10 days later, I was told that the item was on backorder and that it would ship within 1-2 weeks. That was a month ago. I paid by credit card which at least has not been charged yet.
I am going to cancel my order. Stay away from iKitchen.

This is the worst outfit I've ever done business with on the net...and I've done business with hundreds. No info on status, no replies to queries until threats are made, no ready admission that the item cannot be obtained and, finally, no refund even though "Tiffany" from customer support declared I was to get one...What a bunch! My plan now is to organize a more coherent and effective web broadcast to protect consumers...starting with ikitchens. In these times, such a b ad business has no reason to survive.

I ordered two Cuisinart Waffle Makers on December 12, expecting the shipping to take 5 - 9 days as described. They immediately took the money from my PayPal account, and sent me an email order confirmation. On Christmas Eve, I emailed to ask for an order status because I had not received any communication from them and no waffle maker. Two days later I received an email saying that the items were on backorder and a reminder that the "fine print" says it may be backordered. Fine - was told to expect the item within two weeks. The third week in January I had not heard anything from them regarding the order so I emailed them. (They supposedly have a phone number that will be back online when they are through having "technical problems." BULL - they didn't have any technical problems taking my money from Paypal. To this day there is still not a number there.) They never returned my second email and no waffle maker yet and we are 6 weeks from the $90 order. Today I filed a complaint with PayPal to get my money back. This seller is not reliable and not worthy of any of their "credentials" at the bottom of their site. Horrible experience.

I ordered the Shark Cordless Hand Vac with Motorized Brush and Twister Technology from iKitchen.com on December 22nd, 2008. I did not hear anything regarding my order until I emailed them 3 times after the 1st week in January. I received a reply email that was impersonnal and obviously a copied draft that is used regularly. This email informed me that my order was on "back-order" and would be shipped in 1-2 weeks. It has now been 16 days and I have not received any updated information. I emailed them 2 days ago and I have not received any response.
Neither iKitchen.com nor Metro Market (the owner of iKitchen.com) provides a customer service phone number. I went to paypal to file a claim and fortunately there is a phone number listed under the "transaction details" page. If you have issues with either of these companies or their affiliates their customer service number info is:

I called the customer service number and demanded that they cancel the order and refund the money. If I have not seen the money returned to my Paypal account within 3 days, I will be filing a claim against the company.

Will never do business with this company again! I ordered a Christmas gift on 12/12/2008 that I still have not received. Was not notified item was on backorder until 12/24, when I was told it would be another 1-2 weeks. Nearly six weeks since I placed the order, still no product and no response from the company.

I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN! I purchased a tea kettle for my mom for Christmas. I paid extra for shipping so it would make it on time. Not only did the tea kettle not make it for Christmas, it never came at all. I emailed customer service and 3 weeks later have still heard nothing. BUYERS BEWARE!

I just cancelled an order that has not shipped as of 1/9/09. I had not heard anything from the company since the original email confirmation of receiving the request. After waiting 3 weeks, I sent an email request 1/6/09. On 1/9/09 they answered me that the item was backordered for 1-2 weeks. I was feeling very frustrated. I needed this item weeks ago. Most companies I have dealt with notify me right away when something is out of stock and give me the option of waiting or cancelling. I have just sent them a cancellation request. After reading all these bad reviews I am anxious that they will charge me and ignore the cancellation. We'll see how it goes.

On December 10th, I ordered a Homedics Shiatsu Massage Pillow from ikitchen.com. I paid with paypal and the site says it would be shipped to me within 3 days. On December 27th (AFTER Christmas so my dad had no gift) I went online to check the status of my order. There was no status, no tracking number, nothing. I contacted ikitchen and asked where my package was. Then I started getting suspicious. I googled ikitchen metromarket scam and hundreds of hits came up!
I quickly contacted them again asking to refund my money or else I would contact the BBB and paypal for a dispute. I looked at this website and saw some other reviews of how you get the fake e-mails from ikitchen saying your item has been backordered, etc, and that they take forever to respond and are pretty much scamming you. I decided not to put off contacting the BBB or paypal.
I contacted both, and I threatened ikitchen. On December 31st, I received a full refund. Don't let this guy get away with scamming any of us!! If you were done wrong, contact the BBB. Let them investigate. Do everything you can. It pays off in the end and you won't feel like a sucker for getting your money back!
On BBB, I looked up homebrands.com because that is the main website. The sales rep is David Balassiano. Give them all the information you can. If all of us contact BBB on this man, hopefully we can stop him from screwing any more consumers.

ordered 3 items. they delivered 1 item 3 weeks later and charged me almost complete shipping for all 3 items ordered. A month later and the other items still didnt ship. This merchant does not stock merchandise, how they are still in business after doing this for years apparently is beyond my understanding. Word to the wise. STAY AWAY!

Ordered a coffee pot Dec 13th and should have known it would be trouble. The price was only 60 to 70% what others were selling it for. Never got it and emailed them 6 days ago because you can't call them, no answer so I sent another email canceling the order and I ordered elsewhere. Should have done more searching for reviews. Darn

I ordered five things on two orders from this store. The most expensive items have not shipped although I received a UPS shipment number that turned out to be bogus. UPS said they have not picked up the merchandise for delivery and the due date is now a week old. I received two items that were the least expensive, one of which was old. After reading the reviews on Resellerratings.com, I contacted my credit card company to intervene but they said I had to follow protocol and if after my efforts, there was no resolution, they would step in. However, the problem with that is iKitchen has already taken my money and based on the other reviews, I don't expect to see my products or my money. I suppose I'm expecting the worst given what other reviewers have had to say. I noticed that today, iKitchen is selling the Nintendo Wii for $299 while every other retailer including all the major chains are out. They say delivery is in two weeks; just enough time to get your money before your credit card company can stop payment. This is a typical scam to get your money. I will never buy from this site again.

Thank goodness for re-sellerratings.com. I was all set, mentaly and e-commercially, to order a deLonghi Pro Deep Fat Fryer, at the cost of $89.99 (their much reduced price).
I have known and been an active user of resellerratings.com for more than a year now. Re-SellerRatings.com has just SAVED me from making an $89.99 MISTAKE!!

Unfortunately my story is not different from any of the other reviews. I ordered a $250.00 product on 10/26 and my account was charged on 10/29, as of 12/2/2008 I have not recieved my order. This is the worst company on the net. Do not order anything from this website it is a FRAUD. If you are lucky enough to talk to someone they try to tell you that your product is already shipped and they cannot refund your purchase yet. I am still in the process of trying to get my money back. I repeat, do not order anything from this company they are a FRAUD.

Like the others, I placed an order with these thieves without checking their history. The immediate response indicated my order would be shipped in five days. One month later I asked questions and was informed that the product was placed on backorder. The company no longer bothers to even reply. I am out $67.07 for some Quisnart pans. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY; THEY WILL ONLY STEAL YOUR MONEY.
