I ordered a $16 light fixture on Feb 24, which was about $8 less than anywhere else on the 'net. I received a confirmation email immediately. After a week of waiting with no update to the order status at the iKitchen web site, I got a little nervous. Searched the web and found this site. Boy did I feel dumb. I wrote the email address in the confirmation email, received no response. Next I called the phone number in the confirmation email, which is 718-989-9318; it basically plays a little music then goes dead. So I contacted Yahoo shopping support. That shook a response out of the iKitchen company! Exactly as other reviewers have posted here: Tiffany wrote me to say the item is "backordered, with no estimated time of arrival." These email addresses seem to work if anyone else would like to try them: tiffany@ikitchen.com and SHeller@ikitchen.com. Anyhow I requested that they cancel the order and refund the money, which (again, I was dumb) was paid via Paypal. No response to those requests. At this point I filed a claim with Paypal, but I am not optimistic I will get a positive outcome.
Two lessons here, people, which I'm going to try to remember myself. First, search a little on the web before placing an order if the price is seems a little too good. Second, pay with a credit card ALWAYS. Paypal is not your friend when things go wrong. And finally a bit shout out to Yahoo: you know how Amazon allows user reviews of merchants on their site? Well it's about bloody time you did the same.

On December 10th, I ordered a Homedics Shiatsu Massage Pillow from ikitchen.com. I paid with paypal and the site says it would be shipped to me within 3 days. On December 27th (AFTER Christmas so my dad had no gift) I went online to check the status of my order. There was no status, no tracking number, nothing. I contacted ikitchen and asked where my package was. Then I started getting suspicious. I googled ikitchen metromarket scam and hundreds of hits came up!
I quickly contacted them again asking to refund my money or else I would contact the BBB and paypal for a dispute. I looked at this website and saw some other reviews of how you get the fake e-mails from ikitchen saying your item has been backordered, etc, and that they take forever to respond and are pretty much scamming you. I decided not to put off contacting the BBB or paypal.
I contacted both, and I threatened ikitchen. On December 31st, I received a full refund. Don't let this guy get away with scamming any of us!! If you were done wrong, contact the BBB. Let them investigate. Do everything you can. It pays off in the end and you won't feel like a sucker for getting your money back!
On BBB, I looked up homebrands.com because that is the main website. The sales rep is David Balassiano. Give them all the information you can. If all of us contact BBB on this man, hopefully we can stop him from screwing any more consumers.

These people are professional rip-off artists. You can't get a straight answer out of them.
I had received an e-mail stating that UPS had received billing information and the package would be received on July 24.
Here's the follow-up. After numerous e-mails which were never answered, I finally was able to contact them by phone (although their website says that their phones aren't working! Ha!)
I asked that my order be cancelled and asked for a refund. I was told that my card would be credited in a couple of days and that the credit would show up on my bank statement. I did get an e-mail stating that the order had been cancelled but my card was never credited.
I got through by phone again and demanded that they issue a refund. Again, I received an e-mail stating that they had issued a credit. I'll check with my bank to see if this is true. If not I'll take further action. It's against the law to take money for merchandise under false pretenses.
They continue to send me their e-mails advertising their outstanding deals. I also requested that they take my name off their e-mail list as I would have to be crazy to ever try to buy anything from them again.
Never heard another word. The package was never sent to UPS and I have tried to contact IKitchen numerous times -- their mailbox is full, they just don't reply, etc. etc. ad nauseum. I finally got through to a real live person and got the royal runaround.
I'm going to report them to the FTC and see if that will help.
More Update ==
Checked with my bank and although iKitchen senet an e-mail saying my account was credited and the customer rep assuring me that it was, they still haven't refunded my money.
They are avoiding phone calls -- out of order, disconnected, mail box full etc. etc -- won't respond t e-mails.
I had also asked them to take my name off their e-mail list and their rep had assured me that it was -- I'm still getting their phony ads. How can a company like this stay in business? This review was modified by its author, sammyjane, on

Ordered this item "In Stock" on April 24th. Was billed right away, even got a pre-shipment notice, but never got this item. According to iKitchen.com, this item is now back-ordered, even though it shows as in-stock still on their website. After promises from their customer service for a month that they would ship me something, I decided to cancel the order.
Two weeks and 3 emails later, I'm still waiting for the refund that they've told me twice now they've refunded.
AVOID THIS WEBSITE AT ALL COST.

Do not buy from them! I placed order and 48 days later I finally received it. Two emails after the order, I sent them an email asking if it was shipped and no reply. After a month I sent them another email telling them to refund me or I would do a charge back. A couple days later I received an email from them with the tracking # (of course it was shipped after I threaten them) and they said that when I received the package to refuse it and I would be refunded minus shipping costs or I could keep it.
Opened it up and it was refurbished with only a 90 day warranty.
I wish I found this site before I ordered.

Similar experience with others.
Bad business, looked as if has a good price so was received as result from search,
but goods was never shipped.
Detail:
Ordered on 1/5/2008, checked with them on 1/20/2008 (after 10 business days), received canned email to expect delivery in 15 business days, received email from Fedex on 1/22/2008, credit card charged on 1/24/2008, but today, 2/6/2008, still no activities in the Fedex tracking number. I sent another email to the company today.

Very unsatisfactory experience. This company sends information to the shipping company right away, but then doesn't send the package. So it looks like it's coming, but it never does. No communication about a delay. My inquiries generated "canned" e-mail responses. When I finally pried a package from them (a month late), they sent me the wrong product. Had to return it, and then the same process started over. I finally did get the correct product, but it was two months late. Definitely not worth the hassle.

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! Or at least hide your wallet. Ordered a cheese slicer for my son to give my wife for Christmas. Store does not answer e-mails. I can't believe Paypal is associated with this scam!

I ordered two cuisinart CSB77 blenders on 11/22/07 and received quick notification that they would ship out by UPS very soon. About 12/10 I wrote ikitchen and they responded that the blenders were arriving soon and UPS would notify me. I waited a day or so and I did get a note from UPS so I waited another week. UPS tracking says they have not even picked up the order...as of 12/24/07 I have not seen the order so I wrote them another notes cancelling the order. Of course they have already charged my card so I need to write a letter to VISA etc. What a pain...never again. Ikitchen is giving on-line sales a bad reputation.

Ordered product claimed to be "in stock" from these folks and waited two weeks. Never got email or anything else with tracking number etc. Sent email from their web site on Oct 8 requesting shipping status and tracking number. Never heard back from them. Called them on 10/10/07 (they have no 800#), gave them order number and asked status. They finally told me it was back-ordered and they might have it in a week and then 7+ days to ship. I canceled the order, asked for and, within 10 minutes, received an email saying the order was canceled and no charges. Bought from another supplier with an 800# and had the product in stock. Bottom line - iKitchen does not seem to have their act together although they don't seem to be scamming (unless I end up with a charge on my Visa)! Still, they say it is in stock when it is not, they never let you know unless you follow-up yourself, they don't seem to respond to emails in a timely fashion and they have no 800# to call. Recommend shopping elsewhere.

Placed order - billed immediately. Watched their on-line order status page for three weeks. Order status stayed blank, as did tracking number and of course I received neither package nor further communication.
I too believe that this company is scamming.
I wish I had read the reviews here before I ordered.

This company has very limited contact information. In my experience they do not respond to general inquiries nor do they follow their own policies regarding order placement. The link they provide to track shipment of an order placed is bogus and amounts to nothing more that confirmation of the order placement. This seems to be a very shoddy and somewhat disreputable company. Do not expect orders to be shipped in a timely manner, inquiries acknowledged in a timely manner, nor assistance with order cancellation. This process has taken 21 days for me.

My second and last order from Ikitchen.com, they advertise what they don't have in stock. Do I need to teach them how to use computers and show what you have and what you don't in stock?
I waited 9 days to receive an email about "not in stock". Even ebay sellers, individuals are more trustful than this store.
Because of U$1-2 dollares less shop somewhere else.
See you never more !!!

I will not use this merchant again, and I wish I had not done so even once. I should have read the other comments on this website first. I ordered an item and kept checking the "order status" link provided in the order confirmation email, to no avail. I called after two weeks and was told the item was back-ordered but would ship in two more weeks. After three weeks, I called again and was told there was no estimated ship date. I was then told that the item was refurbished, not new, at which point I cancelled the order. I checked the merchant's website and found disclosures regarding refurbished items in small print at the bottom of the page. However, neither the main body of the product information presented nor the order confirmation email indicated that the product was not new. The merchant did submit an authorization to my credit card company, but it expired without payment, so I am not out any money. The old saying "caveat emptor" is applicable here.

Like the previous reviewer: company lists item as in stock. When we order it goes silent for weeks. No response to multiple emails. Finally a response to a flaming email: they will send by then end of next week. That is now 2 weeks ago.
It is too late now to get another item at a similar price in time for Father's Day and this bunch of NY electronics store scum deserves no ones business.
Belly up and go go.
