ordered a Luxio 64 GB flash drive on Feb 23.rd for 139.98 USD + 15 USD shipping to Hong Kong.
On Mar 4.th I contacted MemoryTen because the order was still being 'verified' (obviously the product was not in stock).
A same day reply apologized the delay with it was an international order (!!!!) but assured me that it was ready to be shipped same day.
Some days later, the product was actually shipped.
I received the shipment on Mar 23.rd, but inside the box was a Transcend flash drive in stead of the ordered Super Talent drive.

The product page on MemoryTen web site is quite good and comprehensive - lots of information:

- A picture of the drive
- Super Talents product number.
- The dimensions
- Available Colors
- Manufacturer information
- Tech information
- Compatibility
- Note on a supplied leather case

all very specific to the Super Talent Luxio drive (only).

But as MemoryTen didn't have the Super Talent drive in stock, they updated the product page by adding :

'or Transcend depends on the stock availability' - (partly hidden between al the other information which still is 100 % Super Talent specific).

And so they shipped the Transcend.

The Transcend drive is a 'value' product (Transcend's own words), where as The Super Talent product is a high end product, so I was not happy with the replacement. And Transcend I can buy a lot cheaper here in Hong Kong, where as the Super Talent drive is not available here.

I contacted MemoryTen Customer Support a few times, but all they offered me was to return the product at my cost. Then they would refund the 139.98 USD but not the shipping cost. But been cheated once already, I decided not to take the risk of being cheated again. I will try to sell the Transcend product myself.

We mailed back and forth a few times, but without any luck. And when MemoryTen assigned a new person to handle the case, and I had to repeat everything again, I gave up.

IMHO: No doubt, I have been scammed by MemoryTen. My advise: DON’T USE THEM - THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

Regards
Palle Thorstensen

I can assure you that we are certainly not in the business of scamming anyone. If there is a possibility that we would send a different brand other than what is pictured, we make sure to note it on our web pages. Below I have pasted the link to the page that you had made your order via.

If you open the link you can see where the note on the different brands clearly stated. In addition, we also note the dates on which each web page has been updated. The most recent update for the page you ordered on was 2/09/09. Since you placed your order on the above page on 2/23/09, you can be certain nothing was updated thereafter.

WeLoveMacs finally comes clean and removes the BBB logo from their webssite!

I have been trying for almost two years to resolve a problem with WeLoveMacs (this started in 2006).

I bought and was invoiced for a new power adapter for a PowerBook. They sent a scratched-up used/reconditioned unit.

I chose not to make a fuss, but when it failed within the first two months, WeLoveMacs refused a refund because the order was more than 14 days old.

They refused to acknowledge that it was not new, even though it shipped with some funky twoprong cable instead of the stock white Apple cable.

They also refused to acknowledge that Apple sells new gear with a one year warranty.

And they refused to refund my money.

Last week I succeeded in getting the BBB to demand that WeLoveMacs remove the BBB logo from their website. WeLoveMacs has been displaying it for years without ever being accredited or affiliated.

Yahoo! SHopping is finally getting into the act, and I have reached out to Consumer Affairs in California.

All I wanted was a refund for a bait-and-switch move. Now WeLoveMacs is in a heap of trouble.

Crime never pays.

They sent wrong shipment two times. I had ordered 2x1GB ECC PC3200 for my dell poweredge 1800 server. The servers were scheduled to be upgraded and i wanted them to bring them up ASAP. I ordered the RAM and the shipment was for wrong part I got PC4200. Poor customer support routed me to the technical support to whom i cannot talk; just mail. They told me to ship the part back at my cost and then they will send the replacement to me. I told them to charge the card again and send me the advance replacement along with shipping label for returning the earlier wrong part. They charged the card; i again got the shipment which was again for the wrong part i got PC4200 instead of PC3200 also i did not get the shipping label which they were supposed to send. So really a bad experience and would not suggest anyone to use them.

I would strong not suggest doing business with this company. I received an incorrect order and it has been one bad experience trying to get back my refund. Please shy away from doing business with them. They were very professional in collecting my money and selling me the product but completely the opposite in honoring their money back guarantee. It was a wrong product in addition that was sent to me.

I should've checked resellerrating.com before I made purchase from memoryx.com
Nice informative website is doing his job. luring people who are trying to upgrade their computers. I found and ordered extra memory for old Toshiba A10 laptop. The item has arrived but it was WRONG chip. not kingston PC2100 but some noname elpida PC2700. Surprised, I sent them e-mail. the respond was fast but helpless- "try it". stupid, it supposed to be complementary to the already installed memory. I wouldn't dare to mix different kind of chips in my laptop. that's said: Guys are total rip off, they should go out of bussines, 0, avoid and read resellerrating.com before your buy from someone over the internet.

We do not normally sell Kingston Memory. Elpida is the main Japanese manufacturer of DRAM and modules. Kingston is a third party manufacturer which actually purchases chips from Elpida. Elpida is considered higher quality than Kingston memory. We have very high ratings in Bizrate 5000+ and Yahoo Shopping 10, 000+.

Buyer Beware!!! This company will use competing higher quality products to bait you into buying cheap-inexpensive-inferior products that should cost less. I ordered $1200 worth of what I thought were Kingston memory modules and now I've got dozens of Infineon/Micron/TwinMos pieces of junk. If I would have ordered these "off-brand" pieces, many other companies would have been significantly less expensive. Just watch yourself and read the product descriptions carefully.

We do not normally sell Kingston Memory. Micron is the main USA manufacturer of DRAM and modules and supplies memory to Crucial. Infineon is the main European manufacturer of DRAM and module (formal known as Siemens). Kingston is a third party manufacturer which actually purchases chips from Micron and Infineon. Both Micron and Infineon are considered higher quality than Kingston memory. We have very high ratings in Bizrate 5000+ and Yahoo Shopping 10, 000+.

I thought that this was a good company to deal with. Ordered two printer memory cards and one was bad, so we sent it back for a replacement. But instead of a replacement they credited the credit card. I called to order a new one and they said that I would get an email to which I needed to send back to them to complete the process. I asked, "why would I need to do that, you have me on the phone now, lets just order the memory now.” The customer service guy hesitated for a few seconds, said nothing and then put me on hold…music plays for minute...then the line went dead. No return phone call or anything. Lousy customer service!!!

Just an absolutely terrible buying experience, and I am convinced MemoryX is some kind of Ponzi Scheme where they continue to either not ship, or ship incorrect items, and then offer to send "replacement items" to you at vastly inflated shipping costs.

I ordered some memory for an older laptop, was advised it was shipped, and then proceeded to wait 3+ weeks with no receipt of this mysterious "phantom memory".

Since it was insured, I inquired and was greeted with a "please give us authorization to ship the product again at a cost of $22.05 on October 4th" It's September 2, but I'm supposed to wait another month to get the memory that was *supposedly* (cough) sent on August 10, AND get bent over for an extra $22 in shipping charges?

I can't believe this company is still in business, and doesn't have a 0 rating on all vendor sites. I have bought from dozens of online hardware sites, and if something is lost or the wrong item sent, the quality companies work hard to make it up to the customer. Not so for MemoryX, they just stick their hand out, looking for more money.

Unbelievable and appalling, all at the same time.

Just a terrible little operation, and I feel sorry for anyone who deals with them in the future. I wouldn't buy from MemoryX if they were giving stuff away for free - I might find a BIG charge on my CC anyway.

4 of 8 products were DOA. Took 3 hours of hold time to get to customer care professional. Who then said they couldn't overnight(I pay for it) my return product until it was in the system. I emailed tracking number next day only for them to tell me they had already shipped it ground although it wasn't in the system. I have used them in the past but will never purchase router memory or any other product. They told me all memory was tested and thats just bull. I had failures in two types of memory. It should not take half of my day to talk to customer NO support. It's not worth the savings. defective products and very, very bad customer service. Paul

Ordered 128MB Rambus Memory on 11/30/04. Got bad memory chip (system will not boot with it). Opted for replacement, the replacement was bad too (system was crashing, ran tests, found bad modules on the chip).

Call tag for the bad chips was NOT offered, despite their policy (meanwhile their policy got changed and they removed the call-tag part). Shipping charges refund was not offered or applied. The only credit I got was for the memory chip itself.

Paid shipping THREE times - total of almost $30 – needed the chip fast so I sent it back 2nd day air, only to wait almost a week before the replacement chip is send (also bad). Missed my deadline as well. Finally got my refund minus shipping on 01/13/05. I will look elsewhere.

I used the MemoryX web site to determine the right memory for my handheld pc, and clicked the link to buy the part it offered. When it arrived, the SODIMM turned out to be the wrong part. (It physically would not fit in the device MemoryX claimed it was for, as sure as a square peg will not fit a round hole.)

I explained the situation to MemoryX via email. My first message got a reply claiming that I was simply wrong about the part being incorrect. My followup messages were ignored.

I called them on the phone during business hours, and was routed to a voice mail system. I left a voice message describing the details of the problem, and giving my contact information. That message was ignored.

I called again several days later, and finally reached someone. Their customer service representative, Nicola, was argumentative and accusatory, claiming that I hadn't contacted them within the return period (which I had) and that the part was correct for the device. After about 30 minutes of discussion, and resending my copies of their email as proof of my claims, she agreed to to refund the entire charge to my credit card.

I returned the SODIMM, and was credited only a portion of the credit card charge.

In short, MemoryX ripped me off, and made no attempt to right the situation. I am very tempted to initiate a charge back through my credit card issuer. I will never do business with MemoryX again.

I placed an order for a Twinmos 1GB SD Card because of it's high transfer rate, paid by credit card and USPS Priority mail. The price was 99.98 + 8.00 ship + 8.25 Tax. What arrivied was a Lexar 1GB SD Card with very standard transfer speeds. Also, the Lexar card was readily available on other sites for under $70.00. Since no one called or emailed, and the Lexar SD Card was not even listed on their website as an item for sale, I feel MemoryX committed fraud. The SD Card they sent me without comment was lesser quality and unacceptable. They have provided me with a RMA for a credit refund, however now I have had to pay a higher total cost to receive a replacement card in two days due to a trip. Plus the additional cost of the return shipping.
Very poor business conduct. Philip, Palm Springs

I'm really amazed at all the positive reviews I see of this company. Their customer service has been terrible. I think you are rolling the dice buying from this company.

I ordered 2 modules of 256MB EDO ECC DIMM RAM for an old server that our office still has in production (a Compaq Proliant 2500). MemoryX's website advertised the RAM as exactly that (even said it was rated at 50ns, which was a nice extra), claimed it was especially for the Proliant 2500, and even gave it a Compaq part number. At $99 a piece, that seemed like a great solution.

I emailed them to make sure it was in stock. Plenty in stock, they assured me.

There was no email confirmation of shipping, and no way to know from their website whether it shipped or to get a tracking number, but the package arrived in good time. Great, I thought. Happily, I opened it and prepared to install the RAM, but realized they had sent me two modules of FPM (fast-page) 60ns RAM. For those of you who don't remember, EDO replaced FPM back in the nineties. EDO motherboards are sometimes compatible with FPM, but not always, and it's certainly not a good idea to mix FPM memory with EDO (I already had 512MB of EDO installed).

Thinking anyone can make a mistake in packing, I emailed their customer support and told them what I had received, and what I had ordered, and provided a link to their catalog page describing the EDO memory. I asked for a call tag to ship back the wrongly-sent product, which I had not opened so they could have stocked it again.

Two days later, I received an email from them saying "actually we did send you the right item." No explanation of how this could be the case, of how EDO=FPM, or how 50ns=60ns. Over the next 4 days (they wait a full 24 hours before responding to even the simplest of emails), he told me to install it in the machine by itself, having taken out my installed memory.

Obviously, I didn't want to do this, but at his insistence, I opened the packaging and installed the memory. It didn't work with my memory. It didn't work by itself either. It didn't work trying one module at a time. It didn't work no matter which slots I installed it in. No matter what, the system did not recognize the 256MB modules (it saw them as 64MB). I realized at this point that the RAM didn't even say ECC on it (as the website claimed, and which the 2500 requires). This was clearly the wrong item.

I emailed them again. Again they waited 24 hours to tell me, "I find that very surprising. Please try it again." Amazing. This was now over a week after I had received the wrong product, and they were still playing these stalling games with me, never once even addressing my repeated statements that what they sent was not what they advertised and what I had ordered. Calls to their telephone number got an answering machine and they have never called me back.

It was only when I threatened to call the credit card company and have them do a chargeback, that they issued an RMA, but they have so far refused to pay to ship it back. This was clearly their mistake; I should not have to pay to ship it back. Now they are no longer returning my emails.

How these people could get such stellar ratings, here and on another online merchant ratings site, is beyond me.

First purchase, February (to March): 2 x 32 MB of Apple LaserWriter memory, received 2 x 16 MB, tried to phone two times more than 10 minutes, wrote e-mails, had to wait 2 weeks for an answer, had to resend chips to receive correct ones (I live in Europe and shipping back costed more than 10 US$).

Second purchase, July (to August): 1 x 256 MB memory for VAIO SR1K, as stated on their site; but it occured that put a 256 MB chip in a SR1K doesn't work; had to write 2 times to have a final confirmation (10 days to have an answer each time, on the first, they said "of course it should work", on the second, they said: "afraid it's not compatible"). They proposed me to buy 2 x 128 MB (2 x 78 US$) instead of 1 x 256 MB (1 x 86 US$), refused. Had to ship back (costed 15-20 US$ because of oversized parcel) and lost custom taxes (lost 10 US$ more). They finally corrected their web page 1 month later... (regarding the tracking: I received one e-mail to confirm the command and nothing else until the FedEx guy rang at my door...)

Don't order from these guys. They sent me the wrong part multiple times. First, the part(memory for my laptop) did not work. So, they charged my card to ship an advanced replacement and they sent me a memory card for a camera WTF. Called, they had me ship that back to them and they sent a replacement (which again didn't work) and they said that they were going to also send a label for the shipping back to them (they did not) Finally, one of their techs sends me another memory module (this one in a compaq box) and it finally works. I pay (again) to send back the bad memory and the camera memory stick and after about 8 weeks, they finally issue a refund. Here's the kicker, not only did they not refund me either of the two shipping fees that were charged to my card (the original memory and the camera memory) but since I waited for a shipping label(which their person on the phone told me to do) they went ahead and put on a 15% restocking fee. MOTHER F*CKERS. In the end, my memory upgrade that was supposed to cost me $31 plus shipping ended up costing $25 more than expected! Needless to say, I'll never buy from them again and I recommend everyone else to not buy from them either. Instead try newegg.com or compgeeks.com I've only had good transactions with them.

Steve, I am sorry for the problems you are having. I am sure it is just a communication problem between you and the customer service representative. It is not our policy to charge restocking fee in any replacement situation. We also pay for shipping both ways on advanced replacements for any merchandise that is defective. You may call 1-866-memoryx and ask for customer service and explain your situation and they will correct your problem. Thank you.
