Stay away from these guys.
I bought a $1500 RAID Array (X8-RAID). My IT guy
couldn't get it to work with a Linux box. Even after getting on the phone with PC-Pitstops's Tech
support. So I RMA'd it.
Eventually they refunded my money - minus 15% for
restocking. The 15% chaps my hide. I can see a restocking fee for something that works. NOT for
something that doesn't work.
I wanted to buy an internal SCSI cable that would upgrade my external SCSI-2 case to a SCSI-U160 case. Their product description was stated poorly and I sent an email suggesting that, but they have been unwilling to reword. Ordered the cables and found that one didn't include documentation for the pinouts and the other did not include the necessary screws for mounting. So they didn't really understand either product and how it would be used or else they would have demanded their suppliers fix things.
I sent several emails to these guys about the missing screws, but it took a while just to realize that they really didn't have the foggiest about what I needed to attach that cable. Then it took a couple more emails to find out that they didn't have would never have those special screws. SCSI-3 connectors have a very rare type of screw nut and it is near impossible to find anyone selling them. Even the places that THINK they sell them have the wrong kind!
PC Pitstop was good about prompt shipping and prompt email responses. They had a really hard to find cable and had a good price on it. Too bad they didn't understand it well enough to describe it clearly on their site and make sure it included all the necessary hardware!
I ordered a SCSI terminator. Tiny little thing, can't weigh more than an ounce. The price was $17. What shocked me was that the shipping on this tiny thing, which arrived in a lightweight box about 3"x3"x5", was over $8! (That was for FedEx Ground, the cheapest option available.) I don't necessarily have a problem with the price of the item itself, but I felt a little ripped off by the shipping charge.
Fast shipping and good customer service.
But beware the "white box" items.
I purchased the 3WARE Escalade 7500-4LP white box kit (http://www.pc-pitstop.com/ide_raid/) which is supposed to include:
- 7500-4LP RAID card
- four 3-position 80 conductor PVC insulated flat ribbon cables
- two Y-split power extension cables
- manual
- drivers & management software on CD
- 3-year warranty
When the package arrived, I only got the 7500-4LP RAID card. After a quick to e-mail to customer service, I got a nice apologetic e-mail response saying that the missing items will be sent Priority Mail. Well, a few days later I received the 4 Ultra ATA cables, one Y-split power cable, a burned CD-R with the software.
I also purchased the Cremax MB810-AKF which arrived just fine.

A+ Website!Prices, easy navigation, super fast shipping and technical expertise. Many thanks Paul Haley for getting me up and running quickly.Sincerely,Richard Landis
The best customer service I have experienced from an online store. Emails answered within hours and an actual phone number that a human answers. Great place to purchase your computer
needs.
We bought a NAS from PC-Pitstop and while the verdict is still out on the NAS, I would like to comment on the service we recieved. Paul did a great job of trying to find out what we needed and answering all sorts of questions. Mark went way beyond the call of duty by helping us set up the NAS and when it acted up he helped solve the issues. They might not know everything about the NAS but they will work hard to fix it, very good about answering your call and/or calling back, and very patient. The problem was time consuming but Mark put in the time to solve it. Thank you Paul and in particualar Thank you Mark.

Paul is swift, efficient and knowledgable. The website layout is easy to use and the service is personal. This has got to be one of the best buying/customer service experiences I have ever had - even better than Newegg!
Paul uses his experience to make sure you get what you need. He checks your order and makes sure you purchase a solution that will work - something very helpful if you are new to SCSI like I am.
We will definately be using PC-Pitstop for any SCSI needs we have in the future.
Great Company. Very quick turn around, and awesome customer service. I came to PC Pitstop after a really bad experience ordering a similar product from cooldrives.com which came defective. So I placed this order on PC Pitstop and boom put together, tested, and shipped the same day. Next day I was running raid6 and happy I went to PC pitstop
I ordered a SCSI 80-pin to 68-pin adapter on December 10, 2005 and the package was delivered to my door by the U.S. Postal Service three days later, December 13, 2005. Packed safely.
Thank You PC-Pitstop for the excellent service. I will, without a doubt shop from you again when needed.
I ordered a couple of scsi parts. Due to a backorder, the order did not ship until 3 days later (not bad). Fedex Ground delivered in 2 days from MO to GA. Shipping seemed a little high for Fedex Ground but since they use Fedex, I'm happy! Products are as advertised. Very good prices on some items. Somewhat limited selection. Will use again for my scsi needs.
Package was damaged, apparently in shipping. PC-Pitstop immediately sent a replacement when I informed them of the matter. They did not jerk the customer around as so many others in the past have done with RMA & the month wait in the "tech department". PC-Pitstop treated me like they would like to be treated.
reviewed previous posts about this vendor and read favorable reviews.
decided to order a external scsi terminator, external scsi 1.5FT cable, and a 9-bay hdd tower since hypermicro was selling a comparable tower for much more.
sent my specs to paul haley and he replied to all my emails within 4-12hrs and was very knowledgeable about scsi configurations to ease my mind about purchasing from his store knowing i was getting the correct items the first time.
partial order was sent from his location and a call order was sent to the hdd tower manf. to ship the tower from them. his order came came on the 3-17-04 and the tower came the next day.
website qouted one price but pricewatch showed same item $20 cheaper. paul gladly refunded the difference without question, rare person/store indeed that honors and old pricewatch listing that was dated 2 months old.
all parts worked and nothing was dented when unpacked.
customer service is 6 stars out of 5. i place his store right next to newegg. will order again from him whenever i need anything scsi related.
update:
after getting my new case, i inquired paul about the scsi id switch cables and come to find out the manf. installed the wrong cables. we sent emails back and forth for about 1 day, and paul finally understood what i was trying to explain. paul gladly shipped out the new correct cables.
