Fast shipping, great prices, customer service / knowledge is a little lacking. I order a ram upgrade - asked a few questions about compatibility and was told that everything would be fine. the ram didn't reach the desired speed because dell apparently locks their motherboard / bios speeds. I'm not a computer expert; but I'm not an idiot either and it wasn't until I talked to tech support at kingston that I got the right answer. I ended up returning the items with a 15% restocking fee (even though I was told it would work) and of course all the shipping costs (I was told I wasn't allowed to drop it off myself).
Overall - not thrilled about it. Thank goodness my purchase was under $100 otherwise I'd be really PO'ed. I'd probably do business again with them only because their prices are better than most.

It's the first time that I buy an item from DirectCanada and I think that so far you're the best, except that I didn't notice that the free shipping involved Post Canada. Looking back, I would gladly pay a shipping fee for an alternate shipper because I had two bad experiences with this company, I will be preoccupied until I receive my shipment and worry about the future state of such a delicate instrument.

Reliable, good price and free ground shipping over $300. I have been ordering from Direct Canada many items for a few year and I still love it.
Thanks very much.

Best computer parts company in Canada for sure! Shipping is very fast and cheap, prices are very competitive (if not the best) and support is amazing (called and got answered within 2 minutes)! Never received something defective in two years! This review was modified by its author, jolheureux, on

DirectCanada is still one of the Best Canadian Retailers. I bought 5 items for my new Desktop. Shipping was fast and at a very reasonable cost. Excellent packaging. Great communication by E-mail. Thank you!

Good prices and fast shipping. Good Email system to let you know how the order is being processed. However, service over the phone appears to be non-existent. Called five times during what I guessed was their normal business hours (Richmond BC = PST?) and I gave up every time after 30-45 minutes on hold. I doubt that they actually have people to answer the phone. Issue was resolved by Email

Great Service, have never had an issue with directcanada. I buy probably $5,000 worth of stuff from them a year. If i have a problem they fix it right away. And they have never ever ripped me off like other companys(newegg) for a retail product and send an open box one instead.

My ($300 free ship) order was complete, unharmed and a day earlier than promised to Southern Alberta. More often than not the price can't be beat and the email status updates were comforting for this first-time online shopper.
However, product information is often best (re)viewed elsewhere.

I'm not buying from here again unless I don't care that I might have to wait up to 3 weeks for my purchase. It has just happened for the second time in a row that some of my items took over a week before being shipped, even though they were marked on the site and in my order confirmation as being "in stock", because of a shipping delay from the manufacturer.
Here is what they said in their customer support e-mail: "our own stock was delayed in shipping to us". What?! How can your own stock be shipped to you? If it's your stock, it means it's in your warehouse. Not that it's ordered and is eventually going to be sent to you. Imagine if Future Shop said "Yes, we have it in stock!" and when you get there, and after you've paid, they say "what we really mean is it's on its way from the manufacturer and will be here some time next week."
What this company needs to do before I can feel safe buying from them again is to make a distinction, on the site, between "not in stock", "in stock", and "more coming soon". Amazon flags each item as "ships in 1-2 days" or "ships in 1-3 weeks" depending on if they actually have it in their hands or not.
(A less important thing is that it would be nice if there were more meaningful filters for items, for example, allow me to look at all motherboards that have on-board video, or all motherboards with socket 7, or show me all DDR3 ram.)
