VERY SATISFIED. These guys are GREAT.
I ordered a battery for my son's Sony Handycam I was giving him for Christmas. The order arrived on time but the battery would not work in the HandyCam even after a full charge.
I called and was told the battery was defective, so I ordered another one and put it on my credit card, deciding to deal with the return after the holidays--well, the second battery arrived and it too would not work in the HandyCam--so now I'm getting upset as Christmas is coming up quick. I call again and get "Roger", the bookkeeper - I explain my frustration and he says he'll make good on my problems...Roger took the bull by the horns and arranged for a real Sony battery to be overnited to me from one of their distributors. He also credited my card back so the Sony battery cost me nothing. He also followed up and called me while he was traveling for Christmas!!
I had read good reviews about this company when I was shopping for batteries for my Canon 20D.
It turned out that the SterlingTEK batteries were not defective but rather Sony had changed the specs so only REAL Sony batteries could be used in the DCR-HC21.
So my problem alerted them to a change they needed to make in the battery and I was treated so well I will reccommend this company every chance I get!!

VERY pleased. On December 9th, ordered two camera batteries from this company off ebay (where their sales price was slightly cheaper than their web site). Order processed the same day and received the batteries on December 12th. Now I call that FAST. Batteries were as described and work fine in my camera. Will do business with this company again.

Very dissatisfied. Sent wrong merchandise. Refused to issue pick up or to credit shipping. Customerservice hung up phone. Had to dispute purchase with credit card company. Never again would I order from them. Will post my experience on all photo websites.

This transaction was superb. I ordered 2 batteries around 4PM on 11/29/05 with 2 day fedex shipping. I received items the next day 11/30/05. Everything was well packaged & batteries work great. Sterlingtek's pricing was the best I could find on the Web for high power 1100mAh replacement batteries.

We happily purchased a battery for our new digital camera on the SterlingTek site. The price was good, and it came in a timely manner.
This is where our shopping experience, however takes a turn for the worst. Their boast of excellent service is a misnomer.
SterlingTek inadverdently shipped two items to us, the battery ordered, and another order that should have gone to a gentleman in Puerto Rico. His invoice and item were shipped to us. Being 'good people' I contacted the people at SterlingTek to inform them of THEIR mix up, I'd hate for the gentleman in Puerto Rico not to get his merchandise. I was informed that I would have to send the item back to them, and then they would credit my account for the shipping. I am 3 days home from major surgery, and a trip to the store for an envelope and the post office to purchase postage is totally out of the question [no driving for 3 weeks]. I explain that, and ask them to please send me a return postage mailer, as I did not order this item, don't want it...but cannot get out to do their job. I have never dealt with a company that could or would not do this if it was their error. I was told this is 'AGAINST OUR POLICY' and that I must send it back to them on my own time, my own dime, and then they would credit my account.
Synopsis: We got our item in good time, and at a good price. THEY, in error sent me someone else's order as well, but since my time is worth virtually nothing, and theirs is, I must go to the store purchase an envelope, and then to the post office for postage to return something THEY sent in error. Does this sound like good customoer service OR good policy? Family owned, by the way...means nothing.
Never again will we purchase from this company, and will make sure that our friends in camera clubs we belong to, will not either. If they treat customers in this manner, after THEIR error...then imagine what they would do if the customer was in error!

My first experience with Sterlingtek was in early June. I needed a charger & batteries for a Canon Digital Rebel 300D.
1st off, they list cheaper prices on Pricegrabber than they do their own online store, but have higher shipping rates on Pricegrabber. They would not match the Pricegrabber price for me, unless they also pricematch the higher shipping rates, which would have been more expensive a purchase.
I still decided to order from them, since they had such good reviews here & ok prices.
I placed my order online, got a confirmation email. Nothing arrived after a few days and so I called for a tracking number. The male who answered the phone tried to tell me I didn't get a tracking number because I ordered through another site, but I ordered through Sterlingtek.com directly. After clearing that up, he confirmed my order and said everything would arrive for my upcoming vacation.
Few days later, still no batteries/charger. I called again - I was told the charger was out of stock. If I hadn't called, they wouldn't have told me and my order would've just died away - what happened to the batteries, since they were in stock? So I chose another charger, the female apologized, and I was told everything would arrive in time for my vacation.
The charger finally arrived, with no batteries! I called again, spoke to the same female and was told they missed the note with the complete order on it. So I had to wait for the rest of my order.
Throughout this, I was never offered next-day shipping. I asked a few times, but was only given it the last time, when the batteries were missing from the package. I couldn't understand why they would not offer it straight away, especially with all the good reviews that say they did.
The batteries arrived and worked well, though not quite in time for my vacation, due to all the delays.
Second order was for a Canon SD300. I figured, maybe I was just unlucky the first time around and the batteries worked, so I'd try again.
Order went much better, battery arrived, and I took it on another trip. Problem was, the battery fits, but gets stuck everytime - the only way to remove it is with tweezers. I believe the "compatible" battery is too heavy for the spring in the camera to pop it up.
I didn't call to complain, since I don't think it would do any good. The battery was pretty cheap ~$12 and sending it back would just cost me more money.
All in all, I would order their batteries as a workable, cheapy replacement, but expect such. Customer service doesn't bend over backwards to help you, but at least the female who answered most of my calls was very pleasant.

I ordered two camera batteries from this company, through the Yahoo storefront linked from their home page. They shipped them to the wrong address (their error) and called me when the package came back to them. They wanted *another* $6.99 (on $22.99 in batteries!) to ship them to my correct address. Then, they were only willing to credit $22.99 to my card, so I had to dispute the transaction for the difference with the credit card company.
I sent E-mail saying that it would be OK to just mail them to me, or send them some other way, to help them save money, but they were unwilling. This inflexibility is just unacceptable customer service. I won't order from them again, and recommend the same -- especially if $6.99 to fix their own error is somehow going to break the company... :(

This was my first purchase from SterlingTek, and they did marvelously. I ordered 2 BP511 replacement batteries on 7/31/05, and received them on 8/4/05 using USPS first class mail. No hassles whatsoever.

very, very satisfied
I read the reviews on this website so finally decided to order from sterlingtek. The order was received less than 24 hours after I placed it and all was in good order. I'm in California and they're in New Mexico! The sales lady was very courteous and no hard sell. I was shocked to get my order as fast as I did and will definitly use this vendor in the future and highly recommend it to anyone needing batteries or charging equipment. Also no charge for shipping for order of 60 dollars or more which is very fair.

I have place the order on 06/17/05(friday), none of the items i ordered state it was backorder and all i got is the email confirmation back. So the next week I waited, figure it would be ship out. And a week pass by, no package. So, I called on Monday 06/27/05, and I was told Canon BP-511 is back order. (i'm pissed, why can't anyone in the company let me know about this last week, no e-mail, or phone) But she said they will split shipping the items. By Friday, I got (2)D-Cell NiMH. And I ordered 4, plus 3 other items. Now, WT? Three and a HALF of my items are backordered? Another phone call was place on next Monday 07/04/05. I thought they understand what's going on and will send out the rest of the package. And i asked her to e-mail me the tracking, and she told me it take 7-10 days. The traking I got is for the first package. So, I thought she send me wrong tracking, and just wait anyway. No company can screw up that bad, and I thought wrong. still no package. Now, i'm VERY PISSED. Another call was made on 07/15/05 (10 days after), after everything is told, and verify twice. she told me it will ship out that day or Monday. I'm even more pissed. Monday? Okay, i have to waited a month b4 they will ship the package and wait another 7-10 days? No package again till Wednesday, 07/20/05. After verify it that night. the (2) D-cell NiMH that was ship earlier was not the same as the (2) later. After the close inspection, the newer one is rated 10000mAH and the first batch is 3000mAH, and I ordered 7000mAH. So another call is made 07/21/05. Believe it or not. They would not just send the correct one out. And I have to go through the RMA. and send the two that are wrong back. and they said they will Refund the money. WT. I waited a month, so I can get half of my money back(minus the shipping cost) after a long talk, they said they will ship out the 10000 mAH instead, cuz they no longer carry 7000mAH. What a fraud? They actually advertising stuff they don't have. So, I'll have to goto Post Office today to mail it back. There will be no business w/ me again after this. So, avoid them at all cost. Ordered two batteries and a charger on 7/12,received them on 7/14! Most internet companies take that long just to process the order. SterlingTEK shipped the order within hours of receiving. Ordered 2 camera batteries at a reasonable price. Very prompt shipping and good customer service. They sent an e-mail when the item was shipped. Items were received in 2 days and in good condition.
However, if you order through PriceGrabber, you can save a lot (18% in my case) compared to their own website. I did not realize this until after I had ordered directly from their website.
