I am amazed by the HP customer support. My computer is out of the warranty and a virus destroyed the recovery partition of HD drive. HP is sending me now a set of recovery CDs with one day shipping for free. Incerdible!

I ordered a dv9000t with the works, and with a 15% coupon, taking $300 off the order. The order went right thru. The laptop shipped 7 days later...the component holding up the shipment was the Core2duo 2.0ghz processor, which I think must have been in low supply at the time...who knows.
Because it was a CTO unit (customized order) it was build and shipped from Shanghai, China. The order reached me, from China, in 3 days or so.
The website gave me an estimated ship date of October 31 but the unit came in around October 25, shipped via FedEx.
The laptop was great, except the touchpad was defective. I had a very nice e-mail correspondence with an HP rep. Responses were quick and informative. Finally, the rep determined it was hardware related and that I needed to phone tech support and get an RMA since I was well within the 21 day return time (day 2 of 21).
I phoned HP, got my RMA, and sent it back. They informed me that because it was a CTO unit I would have to return it and repurchase it. Shipping was completely covered by HP, 2-day air via FedEx. It was received and refunded very quickly.
After receiving indication of the return, I phoned HP and went through the process of repurchasing the unit. They told me I would first have to buy it at full price, then receive the 15% discount from the previous coupon in 10-12 business days. Nothing happened after 12 days so I had to go through the process of phoning in to get the refund. I kept receiving someone who failed to do the coupon properly. They had said that they would not mind reapplying the coupon, even though it was expired, since I did originally use it and all I was requesting to do with the unit was RMA it (as opposed to returning it). I finally got someone who knew what they were doing and they gave me the credit rather instantly. I was refunded the money for the coupon.
The second order was placed on November 12, 2006. The unit's expected ship date was late November. The unit came in sooner than expected, right before Thanksgiving. I was very happy. The new unit was flawless. I am a happy camper. I will buy from HP again in the future. This review was modified by its author, cableguytk, on

I placed a small order for about two-something dollars with HP -- The cheapest price I could find. My order was promptly processed within two days despite the fact that it was backordered.
The shipping, even for this small purchase, was free and HP contacted me through e-mail with a tracking number as soon as they could toward the the end.
I'm happy that HP takes me as a customer responsibly and proves to me that they do business with their customers in a timely manner. This review was modified by its author, Austin_K, on

Bought a Pavilion ZT3000 laptop. Ordering experience was great. Shipping was good. Not having any problems with my laptop.
Built well, runs smooth. Great features.
A note to anyone who buys a computer from any company:
Computers tend to screw up when applications, programs, hardware or other things are installed in them. They can screw up when you remove a program.
The best way I've found to keep a computer running good is to buy a decent utilities program and use every so often. I use Norton Systemworks - it isn't the absolute best but it keeps my PCs faultless. It'll scan the computer for Windows problems and fix them. It'll keep the HD in good condition, too. I never have a failure. Before I got wise to Windows fixers I've had problems of the computer freezing, shutting down, running snail slow, crasing and various other problems.
Since installing a decent utilities program using my computers is a reliable and consistently routine and trouble-free daily experience.
There are a lot of decent computer makers that, I believe, get bad ratings because computers tend to screw-up no matter how well they're made or who makes them.
Granted, there are issues of hardware quality, stay away from such computer makers because a utilities program won't help such a situation.
My first PC is an Emachines. Paid a whopping $400 for it. About 2 years ago - I've had it for more than 3 years - I installed Norton. It still run and work great. Utility programs won't cure everything but they do keep the day-to-day operation of a PC trouble free.

Bought a great HP ze4315us notebook computer at Best Buy for the unbelievable net price of $750. Great AMD Athlon 1800+ processor, ATI graphics, 256 Meg Ram, 30 GB HDD, with Win XP and a DVD/CDR-W, and a bright 15" display and 4+ hours of battery life. I love it, and have had no problems at all in the 9 months I've had it. It even came with a coupon for a free USB floppy drive if you ordered it from the HP web site, which I received promptly.
The mail-in rebates are a pain, but they all arrived promptly, and since I bought it with no cash down and no interest for 12 mo. for a while I had extra ready cash. Paid it off already with no problem.
Last Spring I believe HP decided to be really competitive against Dell, and is the reason for my great deal. It's far better than anything comparable I've seen from Dell and a much better price. Before you buy over the phone, check out Best Buy.
PS - My next computer will be an AMD64, so I'll be able to handle Win'64 and the power gaming software coming out this year. Don't buy an obsolete 32-bit Athlon or Pentium 4.

Smoke the computer I built myself, has dvd burner, 120gb harddrive,512 ram, great sound, sadly does have integrated geforce 4 mx graphics but it's not that bad at all. I got this on da cheap only $700+ tax at circuit city a very goooood deal.

I have been purchasing HP Products Exclusively since Oct. 1999 when I got my first HP Printer... a few months later a Pavilion... then lots more, a couple Cameras, more and more printers, another Pavilion, scanners, and of course lots of CDRWs internal and external.
I only own HP Products, and haven't had any trouble with any of them, except for my own doings, but they get fixed.
The ONLY downside is not having a toll free support number, however, this must save them Millions, but if you ever need them, which is RARE if you are familiar with PCs, then its your phone bill... however they pick up QUICKLY and don't keep you long.
HP recently received my order for a HP 720 Photosmart Camera, HP 7350 Photosmart Printer, and HP 3500C Scanner. All work GREAT!

Very reliable seller and product, however, ordering off the website is somewhat inconvenient.
