Long story short - very satisfied. On 11 July 2004, Ordered 2 copies of a video card. Site indicated they were were instock and for a good price. Aside from the need to establish an account and the fact that the site pushed to all lower case the password I established, the transaction went very smoothly.
Checked order status on their web-site near 6:00PM EDT. Still showed pending. I called them to find out if there was a problem. I'm told no problem, infact it has already shipped. I asked for and got a UPS tracking number. Hung up.
With the tracking number in hand, checked the UPS web site. They had no record of the shipment. Now, I'm thinking the worst!
Here's the really good part. Tuesday morning, I e-mailed customer service, describing the above and asking for verification. No more than 2 hours later - I received a clear, concise, and complete description of the situation. It turns out the CS Rep was refering to her screen. The computer showed the order shipped, but UPS had not, at that time, picked it up and entered it in their system.
Order was received the afternoon of 14 July 2004 in perfect condition. Installed the first card in one computer that was in the process of being built and it worked perfectly!!
I am very happy with their customer service. Less happy with the timeliness (or lack there of) of their ordering system updates. If the system had been kept a little more current, I would not have been concerned and never have felt the need to test their customer service e-mail response. well i have ordered from these guys several times
i dont have much to complain about except for the out of stock thing, taking a few days to ship items, and not wanting to ship during week of thanks giving
but i like the low price for their motherboards and the good price on hard drives and video cards
i have already built four computers within the past two years using their site for parts, not a single computer has had a problem yet
i just wish the would come down a bit more on their cpu prices

THis is quite possible one the best online stores. I purchased a Radeon 9600 Pro and a Biostar motherboard from them on monday evening and it arrived on wendsday evenening. Both components were professionally packaged and I will make my next purchase from them.

i have ordered from FTI 5 or 6 times with no real complaints,except the whole out of stock problem but after a quick phonecall it was taken care of,there was a small price difference so the guy said he would just toss in some extra stuff to compensate and i was pleased with the order, i have always gotten what i have ordered the rma prosess was not too horrible,did take a week to test the cd-rw, hell it stopped working(think it is just MSI)but got the replacement a few days later they pay for shipping back to you even trade WILL BUY FROM AGAIN, and to the guy who said something about LD charges, not smart enough to use the 800 number they have?????

I ordered a PowerColor Radeon 9800 Pro retail on the 18th of November. FTI had the cheapest price after shipping for a retail 9800 pro. Also it saved me 25 bucks ordering out of state in sales tax. I live in California, it didnt ship until the 22rd of November four days later. To me this is unacceptable, I emailed the second day(19th) and got a reply on the 22nd stating it would be shipped that day. I recieved the card on dec 2nd. So it took 14 days from order to recieve... Card arrived in perfect condition and works great.

I ordered a Gigabyte Radeon 9800 Pro on 10/21. The website clearly labeled the product as “In Stock”. 2 days later I checked the progress of my order. My order was listed as “Pending”, and the product was listed as “Back Ordered”.
On 10/28, after a full week of waiting, the order was still “Pending”. On a hunch, I checked my credit card and found it had been charged on 10/23 for the full price of the “back ordered” item.
I sent an email requesting an update. The next day I received an email stating FTI Computer would not be renewing it’s stock of the video card and my order would be canceled. The next day, my credit card still has not had the $328.95 charge reversed.
While responding to my email within 1 day is excellent, everything else I have experienced from this company has been very poor.
1) The website incorrectly listed a product as In Stock
2) They changed the status of my order WITHOUT notifying me
3) They charged my credit card immediately, even without having the product in stock
4) They didn’t promptly credit the charge back to my card once the order was canceled.
I will not place any further orders with this company.
*****UPDATE*****
2 weeks after my credit card was charged, I still have not received my refund for the product that was never shipped. Without immediate action from this company, I will have to have my credit card company forcibly reverse the charges. This review was modified by its author, cfbboyce, on

Well I know many people would be compelled to post reviews only when they had an axe to grind, myself included, so I thought I'd give credit where due: FTIcomputer is outstanding among discount computer e-tailers.
In my years of Pricewatch searching I've become more interested in finding reliable sellers than the absolute lowest price, for the simple fact that it's not worth the money: get a bad customer service on a defective item and you'll get screwed (read: compubuzz.com, axiontech.com), but I said I wouldn't grind the axe....
I've ordered from FTIComputer four times, three for parts used in my freelance computer consulting work. They've never let me down with delayed shipments or defective products. Their prices are great. They have many good items, if not everything bleeding edge, everything you need. They ship from the East coast so it's faster getting stuff ground to my Southern address than the Californian shops.
FTIComputer has been in business for over 10 years. Need I say more? Just giving credit where due. - WLG

I ordered a radeon 9800 and they shipped it that day. When I couldn't stop the bluescreens in direct 3d games (with either kt400 or nvidia2 motherboards) I called for an RMA and had no on-hold wait and no hassle. Within a few days of returning the card my account was credited the full price. I'll definitely shop here again.

I called on June 3rd at 1:30 to see how my order was doing, because I saw that it had not been shipped yet. The lady told me that the item was not in stock and that she didn't know when the next shipment would be. I told her to cancel my order, she said that she would, and that she would credit my account the full amount. Well, I was skeptical and I kept looking at my account and it still said it was processing until about 6:30 that night and then to my horror/surprise it had been shipped. I received my package yesterday and decided to keep it because my card is already charged and I don't want to go through the hassel of returning it at my expense and dealing with their horrible customer service trying to explain my situation, knowing that I will get screwed some other way based on the other reviews I have read about. The card works fine and it was brand new, but don't expect me to buy from this place again.
