I ordered a Sony A350 (body only) the next day I received an email saying I need to call them. I called and had to leave a message. Being anxious to get my new camera I called again 3 hours later I finally got through and they tried to sell me batteries, bags, CF cards and so on. When I declined and said I only wanted the body they took my order. Next day I received an email saying that the camera that wanted was on back order and I could cancel if I wanted. I called 2 times asking if they had them in stock once I was told they would be in next week, next time I was told they had the US models but the one I ordered for the low price was international and I would not get it for 3 to 4 weeks. I then began researching their company and realized I was being scammed and would never probably receive the camera so I did cancel my order. I reordered from Abe's of Maine and received my camera the next day. If the price sounds to good to be true it probably is. I should have checked the company out first but I am too trusting.

By the time they added all the extras that are standard with other sellers, the unit was considerably more expensive than alternatives. IT IS ABSOLUTELY A BAIT AND SWITCH OPERATION.

Worst online purchase ever. Ordered camera(60.00 cheaper than at other vendors) that was advertised to be in stock. I later received an email to call them about expediting the order, at which time they tried to sell me a 100.00 spare battery. I was told the camera would ship in a few days. In a few days, I received an email that the camera was on a two week back order. Now, three weeks later and after 45 minutes of trying to speak to someone in customer service, I am told the camera will not ship for three more weeks. Note that I called first asking if this very camera was in stock (did not tell them I had ordered one), and was told it would ship in 3-5 days. I cancelled my order and would caution anyone who decides to shop on this site.

"In Stock" means out of stock
Sales people are too busy to talk, expect long waits & rude upsales.
Each web order requires you to call to listen to a sales guy. Forget about fast, the call alone takes days. Save your time & money, go anywhere else.

Bait and Switch. I sure wish I had read these reviews before deal with this company. They called and asked me to buy all the bells and whistles for a Kodak z812. I declined to buy anything else and they pulled the old "You ordered the Japanese model and the American model will be $55 more. I cancelled my order and went online. It was on sale for 170 when I ordered. Now it's 218. DO NOT DEAL WITH CAMERA ADDICT!!!! THEY NEED TO GET FLAMED EVERYWHERE

I ordered a camcorder from Camera Addict and received the dreaded confirmation e-mail. They were trying to upsell. After being placed on hold three times, when I did not want to buy anythig extra, the salesman rudely said have a nice day and hung up. I then called back, because I wanted to know if this was in stock, (I have been trying to buy this from others and it was'nt in stock.), The salesman said that yes it was in stock, and there weren't any problems with the order.
When I asked him when it would ship, he said tomorrow providing there weren't any problems. I asked what he mean't by that, and his response was" We ship out the orders with the most profit first, the rest go on backorder. I the asked him if it was the US model and he said that it was a foreign model with the instructions in Japanese, but it had a one year us warranty, which I don't beleive was true.
Sure enough, the next day I received an e-mil from them placing my order on backorder, giving me the option of cancelling. I tried to clear my credit card info form their website, but could not. That really worries me. I wished I would have seen these reviews beforehand. BUYERS BEWARE!

I placed an order for a Canon G9 on cameraaddict.com. I received an email saying I had to call & confirm the order. That's when I was told that this camera did not have a US warranty. If I wanted that, it would be $130 more! That was after he tried to get me to buy another battery - "it will only last 15-20 minutes." I cancelled my order and notified Canon USA! Camera Addict is the worst on-line retailer I have ever dealt with.
I ordered a Canon Powershot SD750 on line for what looked like a good price. The next day I got a call from a Camera Addict sales person saying they needed to confirm the sale.
Well, this is where the bullcrap started. They guy told me the free shipping required paying 19$ in insurance charges.
Then he told me the Canon battery that comes with the camera would last only 20 minutes of actual picture taking, and told me for 39$ he would sell me a "4 hour" battery.
Then he told me I could get a parts and labor warranty for 14$ a year.
Then he said he could sell me a package deal that included the "4 hour battery" a 1GB high speed memory card, a screen protector, a camera case, and table top tripod, plus the 1 year parts and labor warranty for what seemed like a pretty good price.
So here is the truth about what Camera Addict sold me. The supposed "4 hour battery" is less powerful than the battery that comes with the camera. The 1 year parts and labor warranty only covers 90 days of labor (the same as the original Canon warranty). The screen protector is a universal laminar stick-on product that didn't even come close to fitting the camera lcd.
Overall - Camera Addict is a bunch of NYC clowns.
Don't buy anything from this company, they are lying ripoff artists.
Last but not least, they want to charge a MINIMUM of a 5% restocking fee for selling a bunch of lies.
TOTAL LIES AND A BUNCH OF CLOWNS. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM Camera Addicts.

Avoid!
They tried to sell me the extra battery, and then told me the camera was Japanese and I could get a US model for an extra $100.
These people should not be in business. What a scam.

DO NOT EVEN TRY...... This company violates so many business laws, its unbelievable. Why hasn't a class action lawsuit been filed against these people? I am concerned that these Con artists now have my Credit card info. They are true shysters... (Any positive reviews HAD to be written by the company itself.)

I had an AWFUL experience with this seller (oddly given a rating of "5-stars" according to lowpricedigital.com -- I don't see how they could have a 5-star rating given all their poor reviews I have since read on this site). I only wish I had known about ResellerRatings.com BEFORE I placed my order with Camera Addict.
Anyway, I ordered a Canon Powershot SD850 IS digital camera for $160 through the Camera Addict website yesterday, thinking this was a very good deal. I gave them my credit card and got confirmation that the order went through. Today, I got a strange e-mail from Camera Addict telling me that in order for them to "process my order", I had to phone them. I have never received an e-mail request like this before from ANY other companies I have purchased from online. So, I was puzzled. However, I called them and immediately, the guy at Camera Addict tried to sell me some extra batteries to go with the camera. I told him "no". I wanted to test out the camera first. He persisted and I still told him "no". Then, he told me that the camera I ordered is NOT a USA model, but a "grey" or European model. What? I told him that information did not appear anywhere on their web page for this product. He still insisted it did. Then, he told me I could purchase the USA model for $236. I immediately told him to just cancel my order altogether. He agreed and we ended the call.
I then went right to the Camera Addict website and checked the information on my camera again. That page still did not say anywhere that this model is NOT a USA model. I even looked under the lengthy Specifications list. Not being a USA model, however, it would, no doubt, not be under USA warranty -- not good.
In addition, I checked on the "USA" model which the Camera Addict guy said was selling for $236 and guess what? It was REFURBISHED! He never mentioned THAT! I called the guy back to ask him about this and he denied that it was refrubished. "Well, it said so right on your website: 'This Product is Refurbished'", I told him. I also told him I double checked on my model and it still says NOTHING about it being a European version. I told him that his company should change this on their website because others like me will think they are getting one thing, only to find out they are really getting another. Worse yet, they might be baited into purchasing more items or a more expensive model over the phone as this guy tried to do with me. All the guy finally said was "OK". Right.
At least I just got a confirmation e-mail from Camera Addict saying they have cancelled my order. Now, I'll just have to make sure I don't get charged anyway. You never know....
I will NEVER use Camera Addict again. I wrote to lowpricedigital.com and told them I would HIGHLY recommend that they REMOVE them from their list of 5-star dealers -- or better yet, COMPLETELY remove them from their website altogether. We will see if that website decides to heed my warning. I hope the rest of you who read this review will avoid Camera Addict. I know their low prices are tempting, but they are just bait. You will be better off paying a little more for a product from a REPUTABLE dealer or store that won't bring you a lot of headaches and time-consuming trouble in the end!

AVOID THIS SELLER! They're very dishonest and just terrible: I was suckered into ordering by their price. Then they called and tried to sell me a replacement battery claiming that the one that comes with the camera lasts for 20mins (Canon says it lasts for 210 minutes, and in fact I have another Canon camera that uses that battery and it does last for a long time.) Then they told me to buy an extended warranty saying that the camera comes with a 90 day warranty (Canon states that the warrant is for 1 year). Then they told me that I bought an imported version of the camera and that all of the interface was in Japanese and that I had to spend another $50 for an English model. At this point, I cancelled my order. This review was modified by its author, grasshopper80, on

After I placed my order, I received an e-mail to call them. I was told that the camera had a battery that lasted only 20 minutes, and I should buy a better one for extra payment. My daughter has this camera over a year, with no battery problem, so lucky me, I cancelled. I am glad I did, I will avoid places like this in the future. A well-known store reccommended this site. Caveat emptor!

These people are absolute CROOKS.
I ordered a Canon 450D/xSi DSLR camera for $799.00.
They sent a Japanese version "KISS X20" and hit my credit card for $1266.00.
The camera they sent is NOT for RESALE and NOT to be distributed in the USA according to Canon HQ.
It could not be registered, has no warranty, and can not be serviced.
Camera Addict got real @#$@#$^3 over the phone.
I finally got a partial refund by going through my credit card people.
DON'T EVEN THINK OF TRYING TO DO BUSINESS WITH "CAMERA ADDICT".
