Absolutely the worst experience with an internet merchant in all of my years of buying electronics. I wish I had checked this site before I ordered from them. First I ordered a receiver that was quoted at $965. I got an email to call them to complete the purchase. At that time I was told that the product quoted was direct ship from Japan and would not carry a U.S. warantee. There was no mention of this on their ad copy or during the order process. I was offered the U.S. product for $250 more. Sinced this was relativelt close to other quotes I told them to ship me the U.S. product. Total charge dhould have been a little over $1200. That included tax and shipping. I checked with my credit card company and found I was charges a little over $1300. I still have no explanation of what the other $100 was for. Checking their web site their terms do not allow return after shipment of electronics.
This is the type of merchant that people warn you about. I recommend that no one use them for any pruchase even if it is substantially less than other quotes. It appears there is no way to determine if what they advertise is new, used, foreign manufacture, with or without warantee. It also appears that they use the age old bait and switch sales technique. There are far more honest merchants that sell the same goods on the net and anyone considering this merchant should, in my opinion, buy from someone else even if it costs more. The sooner they go out of business the better off we will all be!

the worst..should be shut down
ordered a just released GPS which they were selling with outdated maps. Told me if I wanted 2008 maps(which is what the unit comes with from the manufacturer) I would have to pay extra.
I canceled the order, and sent letters of complaint to the BBO, NYC consumer affairs and GArmin

I felt compelled to share my (almost) online purchase story with you:
Dealer: Camera Addict
Website: http://www.cameraaddict.com/
Product attempting to purchase: http://www.cameraaddict.com/viewproduct.aspx?id=3710502
I ordered a Canon PowerShot G9 for $283 online and was emailed to contact them to complete my order.
The rep tried to sell me a battery & charger all of which were WAY OVER PRICED and should have been included, but not from this dealer. I declined stating I would use my accessories from my G7 knowing I could get them at a more reasonable price locally. The rep then proceeded to tell me this camera was a Japanese version and the display was in Japanese and would this be an issue? NO WHERE WAS THIS STATED IN THE AD. He then proceeded to tell me the American version was $175 more @ $459. I told him to put the order on hold. I then called the store acting like a new customer and spoke to sales; the rep told me there were 2 versions the Japanese version and the US version. The US version was $116 more at $399 ok you got me. I called the original number back and told him the sales rep I would take it for what the sales rep quoted me $399 he said no it was $459. I canceled the order and will be contacting the state of NY regarding “bait and switch” as well as Canon and Consumer Protection.

I placed order totaling $1,688 - 2 lenses and flashlight. I found a message and email asking to call "800-927-2354 Extension 277, in order for us to proceed and process your order". After I called i found out that the total is $2,180.18. Difference of $492.18. When I asked why the difference they said the priceing is for Japanese lenses which they can not deliver.
Camera Addict is a ripoff.

Don't buy from this site,
I bought a camera but when I call for the confirmation they try to sell me extra stuff like a battery pack because the one that came with it only holds 20 minutes when I refused to get it, they ask why I was buying a camera that can only be use in Japan!!! What????
And if I want it for US it cost 120 dlls more!!!
Come on, nowhere on the site or camera description says that!!!
Horrible selling site

I had the worst experience with this company. First, I ordered two lens that together should have cost $1,800. I received an email to call them to finish the process. I ended up talking with a sales representitive who proceeded to hussle me into buying more than I bargained for and the end balance ended up being $2400!! I asked for a receipt email with detailed prices of the two lenses, filters, and warrenty. The total price didn't seem right. He proceeded to tell me he would send a confirmation email and tracking # after the purchase had been made and product sent. A 800 # later called asking for a fax of my id AND the front/back of my credit card. I questioned this and they said ANY order over a certain amount always needs to be id'd for insurance reasons. I reluctantly sent in the info, later to regret sending over such sensitive information...I later called my credit card company and they said the payment was already pending. So why would they need this information again? They called again asking for me to refax this information again so it was a little clearer for them to read!! I tried to cancel and the abrasive representative said 'Just refax that information and we will expedite the product for no additional cost'. That prompted me to call B&H photo to see if there policy is similar and it wasn't even close, on top of that I was over charged by $400! I currently am disputing this purchase with my credit card company. DO NOT BUY FROM CAMERAADDICT!!!!

my experience is similar to the others on this site. I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 770 at the advertised price of $499. I then got this message to call an 800 number about the order. They told me that the GPS didn't include maps (A lie) and that I needed to order the maps, etc. By the time I was through the cost was $767.94 . They said that I would have map updates until 2015 for the $79 that I paid, and yet there is no documentation with the shipment.
They are shady characters that I would never deal with again. Monday I'm going to call the credit card company to stop payment.
PS It is a boiler shop operation with an answering service putting the 'hit' on you.

Bait and Switch scam artists.
Online I ordered a Garmin Zumo 550 GPS receiver from CameraAddict.com made specifically for motorcycles. The price was $549, significantly lower than the typical $650+ prices from other online vendors. After placing the online order I recieved an email saying I needed to call their 800 number to confirm the order, which I did. The salesperson asked if I needed a car dash mount for the GPS - no thanks. They asked if I was intending to use this on a motorcycle - I said yes. He said this package was for cars only and the motorcycle package was $638. I said I was looking at their website advertisement as we spoke and it said nothing about the unit offered being anything different from what is offered by Garmin for this GPS unit - it said nothing about being just for cars. He said he didn't know what the website showed but the unit was only for automobiles. I knew where the conversation was headed and I didn't want to deal with a dishonest, cheating scam operation that this obviously was, so at that point I asked him to cancel my order, which he agreed to do. I received an email about an hour later indicating my order had been cancelled.
fyi The Zumo 550 is made specifically for motorcycles. It happens to also have a windshield mount included just in case you want to use it in your car. Garmin has only one packaging configuration for this item. These guys were blatantly lying about the 'motorcycle' version being an additional charge.

I to almost was taken by this company. I placed an order for a Samsung 46" TV. Received a email to call them to proceed with my order. Once I called the person on the other end told me that it does not come with a stand and for just 199.00 bucks I could buy one. I told him that was crazy and the MFG ships the base with the TV. He told me no, none of them come with a base. All I could do was laugh at him. Then he went on to ask me if I wanted a warranty with it. I said no thanks the one year warranty will be just fine. Nope...it does not come with one he tells me. At that time I asked to talk to the manger or person in charge. He told me it was a call center and there was none there.
I had called the day before and asked all these question about stand and warranty. The sales person told me "Well of course they come with the stand and 1 year warranty" Now this guy I'm on the phone with is telling me the first guy was wrong. Needless to say I cancelled my order. I would never deal with this company again and I will go to every "review" site I can find and post my dealings with them. This review was modified by its author, dpgraves, on

I placed the order for a GPS 478 on 5/13/2008 purchase price was $691.00.
The salesman explained that there were additional items required to make the item functional: First he told me I needed shipping insurance for $50. I refused.
He then forcefully sold me the following items for an additional $168.99
• Recharable battery pack
• 1 GB memory chip
• Screen protectors
• Year product replacement warranty
I continually asked if the above items were compatible with the GPS 478 and he assured me they were.
On Friday May 16, 2008 I received the package and I received:
• GPS 478
• Screen protectors
• Mini SD 1 GB memory chip
and a sales receipt saying 1 year warranty
The memory chip sells for about $10 and was incompatible with the GPS 478
Screen protectors sell for $5
Warranty is useless
I received nothing for the additional $168.99

Placed an order online for a Fuji F50fd camera on 5/18/08. On 5/20/08 received an email requesting that I contact them in order for them to process the order. This was just an attempt for an up-sell. They claimed the battery I was getting was only going to last me 10 minutes. I told them no.
Asked them when the camera was going to be shipped. They said it was on backorder and wouldn't ship for 2 weeks. Went back to their website a couple of days later and it still indicated that it was in stock and ready to ship.
3-1/2 weeks later still no camera. Called and emailed but received no replies.
Don't even consider buying from this outfit. Not even if the price is 1 cent. It is just not worth the aggravation.

Ordered Samsung 37" TV (LN37A550)...they had best price! When they called to "confirm" got standard accessory offers. Did not need any. THEN they had the nerve to tell me I had to pay an extra $129 for the base mount that comes with the set. They even show it in their picture. Their argument was "we are so low priced we cannot give you what is packaged like other stores!" The HELL with them...that kind of crap is a NO-GO for me. There are too many honest sites around-who needs them?

This scammer is AKA Broadway Photo. Ordered a Samsung TV May 6th. Was told unit was backordered. Spent 5 weeks of mostly ignored E-Mails and phone calls trying to get even an estimated ship date. Was finally forced to cancel my order and the credit card I had used, as I believe they are identity-theft scammers. STAY AWAY!!!
