I had read many reviews here but the price was so good I tried anyway. (This is for Garmin Nuvi 760) Everything you read on these reviews is true. I placed order on 27th. It took 3 days for them to contact me. Then they tried to sell me the AC adapter. I said I was all set, had one. Then they tried to sell me "updated 2008 maps".I told them Garmin has all 2008 maps on their products per their web site. They said no I said thats okay Im all set. Then he said, here it comes wait for it..."would you like the American GPS??" I said cancel my order. He said do you know this sells at Best But for 699.? (for the record Walmart has it now for 378.54 no shipping charge if you do site to store option. So that was just another bogus inflation. I said I dont care what it sells for. Then he got a little rude. I asked him to stop interupting. Explained that I would personally not spend 699 on a GPS. The only reason I was getting the 760 is due to their price. He said they would issue a credit. I immediately called my CC co. and filed a complaint. They then told me the charge had never been made or applied by them. However it still may be since I had authorized it. I will be notified if it is charged though. This Co. is fraudgilent. I printed the whole ad and order pages. NOWHERE does it state you are buying A Japanese model. I dont believe they have a Japanese model. They simply have no intention of selling the American product at the advertised price. Therefore if they cannot get you to puff the price with add ons they are not going to sell it to you. Can you say SCAM??? Very dishonest. Amazing they are in buisness.

I wish I had read the reviews before I bought. Most of the complaints are valid. After ordering the company wouldn't ship until I spoke to a salesperson who told me the item I ordered had a very short term battery and the instructions were in Japanese. For another $80.+ pluas I could get the same camera with a better battery and English instructions! The camera actually has four instruction booklets all in different languages. The final price with an additional 3 year service contract was decent but not great. I only have to hope the service contract is valid and that servicing will be less stressful than buying!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!

Camera Addict is the worst online retailer that I have ever dealt with and I strongly suggest the no one ever buys from this location.
Here is why:
I was searching the internet for a GPS device and I found a great price on a Tom Tom Go 730 so I did an online order with Camera Addict. After placing the order, Camera Addict emailed me back to confirm the order before they will ship so I called back the next morning to confirm I and even requested overnight shipping. When I spoke to the first sales guy he talked about warranty and HE said the unit only had a 90 day warranty (Lie #1 - There is a 1 Year Parts and Labor Warranty on this Tom Tom Go product). I wanted to make sure that they could service the device so I asked if they were an Authorized Retailer of Tom Tom products and he said they were (Lie #2 - I just checked the Authorized Retailer list on the Tom Tom site and they are not on it). I said to go ahead and give me a 2 Year for $39.99 since I was unaware of the above info at the time of order. He then tried to upsell me on the maps stating that it just had the 2007 USA maps and the only way to get 2008 was to pay for their upgrade (Lie #3). I should have known at this point to cancel my order since Tom Tom Go has map share which allows for FREE upgrades but since they had so many good grades listed under their name from happy customers, I decided to move forward. At this point, I really believe that those are all falsified ratings reports by their sales people. Back to business on my experience. After declining the map upgrade, I was given a total which was $30 more than I agreed to spend. After receiving the total I asked for the person to explain and he said that the warranty was an additional $30 to cover lost and stolen products. He never said a word that the warranty changed from $40 to $70 in 30 seconds and tried to slip it by me. I said to go ahead and cancel the warranty and just overnight the Tom Tom Go. Before finalizing the deal, he promised that the product would be sent overnight and I would get it tomorrow (Lie #4 - All on one phone call). When it got to early evening and I did not get a confirmation email on my shipment, I decided to call in and check on the order. I finally got through to someone and that new person (who sounded like my original sales person) said that it did not ship because I ordered the wrong unit. I asked what he meant and he said that I ordered the device that had European Maps and not the device that had US Maps. He said that I needed to spend an additional $50 or I would get the wrong unit. I looked on their site 10 times and there is only 1 unit listed for the Tom Tom Go 730 and nothing in the description says that it is European Maps. This is called Bait & Switch, plain and simple and it is the the absolute worst way to do business. I immediately asked them to cancel my order and for the person to get me a manager so I could complain. The person I spoke with sent me to a Voice Mail for the person that I spoke to in the morning. I thought I would let it rest but I did want to speak to one of their managers so I called back in this morning and requested to speak to a manager again. The first person I spoke to (he sounded like the sales person from yesterday evening) said he was a manager and asked how he could help. I told him the issues and he flatly denied any wrong doing and said that he could not help me. He then transferred me to another Voice Mail.
Unless you are looking for a bad experience, do not do business with Camera Addicts.

After reading several of these reviews I called them to order the item I was going to get Sony Cyber Shot DSC-T70 for $154. I spoke to the sales rep and I told him about the reviews saying the advertised price is for Japanesse language cameras and he said they have both. The price for the American one is $259 and it retails at the Sony store for 269.99
Will never check with this website.

I went ShopCartUSA.com, which is a shopping price search engine. Camera Addict was listed with all these rave reviews. They are all BOGUS!!! After ordering I got a guy that told me everything was in order, except would I like a battery? Okay... add that on for $79, then it only comes with a 90 day warranty. Well, the ShopCartUSA website states:
• Lowest Legitimate Price!
• New w/1 yr USA Warranty!

The above was cut and pasted directly from that site. The salesman at ext. 262 then called my brother that is the main card holder on the account, (I am an authorized user with my own card, with my name on it), he called him and asked him about the order. I told the guy I talked with my brother but it was actually my brothers wife and she didn't want it now... It was to be a present. So the salesman ruined that. So this is a company not honest. The reviews on ShopCartUSA are bogus, the info on that website for the warranty are bogus, and Camera Addict was not being honest about their reviews listed on other shopping sites. The price is actually MORE than if you shop at recognized sites like Newegg, BuyDig, Twister, Buy.com, TheNerds.net, zipzoomfly.com, Amazon, etc. Also the salesman was VERY VERY RUDE!!! Warn everyone about these people, Camera Addict.

This outfit has no intention of ever delivering your merchandise at the advertised price unless you buy whatever they offer you, at outrageous prices, during the telephone call. If you don't buy, your order will be placed on "back order" and they will make you wait for weeks until you have no choice but to cancel.

Bait and switch!! Low price on items then they send and email telling you to call them to verify the order. When you call they try and tell you that you need other items to make it work. Wrong! When you don't buy other items at inflated prices they send you another email telling you the item is back ordered 4-6 weeks even though it was "in stock" when you ordered it on the net. Very dishonest people at Camera Addict. Do not buy unless you want the "runaround".

I purchased a Samsung 58" plasma tv. I was "sold" a "white gloves delivery" and extended warranty supposedly good at Best Buy. The delivery took nearly 3 weeks and was dropped off at my door in a box. The driver said he was the 3rd freight company to handle the tv and had no such thing as "white gloves delivery". I have called Camera Addict three times and left messages each time. I have emailed them twice. After ten days, I have had zero response. I finally called my credit card company and disputed the billing. I am very negative toward this company. Buyer beware!

STAY AWAY!! I ordered an Olympus E-510 DSLR camera. Cameraaddict.com listed it for $200.00 less than amazon so I decided to give them a shot. But then when I called to confirm my order, a very pushy and rude guy informed me that I had actually purchased the JAPANESE version of the camera and if I wanted the American version, it would cost $200 more. I told him to cancel my order. He refused. I repeated my request. He continued three more times to get me to change my mind. Now, I respect the hard-sell. This was WAY over the top. Not only was there NO mention of the Japanese vs. American option on the website (I rechecked), but this was just blatant false advertising. Since the guy just hung up on me (no cancellation order number), I called my bank immediately and put a hold on my account and cancelled my debit card. Further, I filled out an online complaint with my State Attorney General's Office detailing my interaction.

Typical bait and switch. They advertised $210.00 for the Panasonic TZ5 with USA Warranty. Two days after my order, I got one of those phony "call to verify your order" emails. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes, I was told if I wanted a camera with English instead of Japanese menus, it would cost $299. This is a disgusting sales practice and I would never shop there again.

Well I very cautiously ordered a camera from Camera Addict. I always check reviews when available before ordering anything online from hotels to games to electronics. I wanted to get a camera and I found one listed in a Best Buy flyer that had a lot of great reviews. The cost of the Nikon D40 was around $500 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8139169&st=nikon+d40&lp=5&type=product&cp=1&id=1158323379076). I searched the web to see how that price compared. I found the same camera at Camera Addict for $346 (http://www.cameraaddict.com/viewproduct.aspx?id=3616605#ps). That was quite a big difference which made me even more cautious. I read the countless negative reviews about the merchant and found a few positive ones. I inspected closely that what is included was the same and that this one wasn't refurbished (which I didn't see anywhere that said it was). So it appears we're comparing similar cameras and options. I decided to go ahead and purchase it. In the comments field, I put in a comment that said I know exactly what I want so don't bother calling me. Just process the order. Since I was saving about $150 I decided to go ahead and order the camera case, a DVD on how to use it and 1 GB memory card. I didn't order a battery from them as I could get one cheaper from www.shopxtreme.com. I ordered the camera on Sunday night and needed it by this weekend for an upcoming family trip so I paid for 2 day shipping too.

Well as everyone said would happen I received a call from them on Monday to 'confirm my order'. First they emailed me to call them but I didn't call so by afternoon they called me. They did confirm all I ordered. They did point out that I had the wrong memory card so I swapped it out with another card. It did cost about $25 more and I know nothing about these cards so I trusted he knew what he was talking about. What bothered me was that it was listed in the accessories section under that camera.

They noticed I didn't get a battery and of course tried to sell me one. I said I bought one somewhere else. They confirmed I wanted 2 day shipping and gave me an updated total. They did add 6% insurance to the total which I didn't see listed anywhere on their website. My total for the camera with the memory, case, dvd, 2 day shipping, and insurance was $526.53. If I would have purchased the camera alone at Best Buy I would have paid $500 plus sales tax of $35. So I’m very happy with the savings.

Well I received the items as promised yesterday. Everything looked good and packaged nicely. I have absolutely no problem with this company and will shop them again when I purchase a camcorder later this year (if they're the cheapest that is).

One other thought. Some complaints revolve around having to speak with a sales rep before an order is processed. I agree that does bother me since you want to be able to place an order via the web and be done with it - simply wait for it to arrive. But if I need to speak with someone in order to get a big savings on an electronics device, I'll do it especially if they really did point out I had ordered a wrong accessory for the camera. Sure they'll try to sell you accessories but that's sales and upselling. You ever go to McDonalds and get asked if you want to supersize your order? Did you ever get the soundproofing added to your new car? I work in sales and that's a normal process of a good salesman and can't fault them for trying to sell you additional accessories or maybe talk to you about the benefits of a better model. What I'd suggest is do all your research before you purchase with them or anyone and know exactly what you want and need. Then you can’t be influenced or 'bothered' into buying something else. If they're truly doing a bait and switch, then that would be of concern but I was very happy with my experience with them.

I tried ordering a GPS unit that was advertised and brand new with USA warranty; same story, they emailed me and tried selling me a USA unit, with USA maps (!) then when I refused, I received a email saying it was on back order. I have since contacted AMEX and had a new card issued. Stay away from this company, it is being run by Muslim people.

Bait and Switch time!! I placed an order for a Samsung 32" TV with Camera Addict. I received an email the next day to call them to proceed with my order. Once I called I was told the TV does not come with a stand. (Odd, I downloaded the TV Instruction PDF directly from Samsung, and the TV includes a stand). I was informed that Samsung was offering a $100 rebate on the stand, and it would cost only $129, with rebate.. Hmm. Jeesh.. I said no thanks and cancelled the order. Received an email with the cancellation, and will be sure to check for charges on the card. Hard to believe that ANY company would want to insult their customers like this. How could this seller stay in business? Wish I had found Resellers Ratings BEFORE I attempted a purchase with Camera Addict!!

BEWARE OF THIS OUTFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bait and switch going on with my order. Ordered product online in smooth transaction, but was directed to call store to confirm.

When I called, I had to endure a heavy barrage of cross-sell to products I had no need for. Then, the salesperson told me that the GPS product I had ordered (whose standard setup includes only North American maps) was a Japanese model, with only Japanese manual and instructions and outdated maps. For a mere $150 more, they would happily give me the current maps ro for $250 more an actual to-be-sold-in-the-US model.
