Textbook "bait and switch" operation. Could not finalize e-mail purchase without contacting salesperson. Very long waits. Salesperson insisted on purchase of numerous extras at inflated prices to finalize purchase or the order would be cancelled. I had same experience with "sister/alias" outlet Prestige Camera.

Camera Addict will fool you!!! I was looking for the Fuji s100fs.
Camera addict will never answer the phone...they will call you. Camera addict told me (after telling them I used to own one of these, therefore no need for all the extras) that this camera came by itself,i said what do u mean? Camera addict said: yep (very unprofessional) just the camera...no battery,no charger,no usb cables... I said are u kidding me? camera addict said nope!.
So camera addict proceeded to offer a "package" with all the accesories included for $69us. So I went from $505 to $734... ????? wtf!? not only they scam you,if you try to cancel the order after is placed camera addict will hang up on u! I have been buying online since 2000 and this is the first time i feel unsafe giving my info to a company. My advice:DO NOT BUY FROM THE THIEVES AT CAMERA ADDICT !!! spend 50 or 60 bucks more and be satisfied with your items from a reputable seller.

While the price was attractive ($193 for a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500), things quickly turned disappointing with CameraAddict.com
First, nothing comes with the camera — no battery, no charger, no cables — nothing that would regularly come with the camera as sold by everyone else. Okay, so some of the savings goes to the extras. Camera Addict wants a premium price for these items. Big surprise! So I opted to order a battery charger, batteries (with much higher capacity by the way), memory cards and stuff elsewhere.
I phoned first to verify the item was in stock. I was assured it was. My order went through the website without a hitch. The next day I get an e-mail requesting I call. I thought there was a problem with my credit card. Nope, they wanted to know why I didn't order a battery, charger, and so forth. Told them I didn't want them and was assured my order would be going out the next day.
The next day I receive another e-mail stating that the item was backordered (no further details, just backordered). I inquired and was told that it would be 4-6 weeks. Odd for an "in stock" item. I called and was told it would be 2-3 weeks "would I like to cancel?"
Caveat emptor! Clearly they didn't want to sell me "just" the camera. Hey, they set the price and policy. I'm going to have my friend Tony Cuomo look into this. You will also find that they also have a couple of other web-fronts. That is, they do business under different names.
Take your business elsewhere. After adding up the bottom line — and lack of service — you can do much better elsewhere. I did!

They had the lowest price but thats because the digital camera was going to come without a battery. The shipping was free but the handling was about 10% (about $30). I cancelled my order because the price of the camera was going to be about twice what they were advertising it for. No wonder it was so cheap at first.

I had read many reviews here but the price was so good I tried anyway. (This is for Garmin Nuvi 760) Everything you read on these reviews is true. I placed order on 27th. It took 3 days for them to contact me. Then they tried to sell me the AC adapter. I said I was all set, had one. Then they tried to sell me "updated 2008 maps".I told them Garmin has all 2008 maps on their products per their web site. They said no I said thats okay Im all set. Then he said, here it comes wait for it..."would you like the American GPS??" I said cancel my order. He said do you know this sells at Best But for 699.? (for the record Walmart has it now for 378.54 no shipping charge if you do site to store option. So that was just another bogus inflation. I said I dont care what it sells for. Then he got a little rude. I asked him to stop interupting. Explained that I would personally not spend 699 on a GPS. The only reason I was getting the 760 is due to their price. He said they would issue a credit. I immediately called my CC co. and filed a complaint. They then told me the charge had never been made or applied by them. However it still may be since I had authorized it. I will be notified if it is charged though. This Co. is fraudgilent. I printed the whole ad and order pages. NOWHERE does it state you are buying A Japanese model. I dont believe they have a Japanese model. They simply have no intention of selling the American product at the advertised price. Therefore if they cannot get you to puff the price with add ons they are not going to sell it to you. Can you say SCAM??? Very dishonest. Amazing they are in buisness. Camera Addict is the worst online retailer that I have ever dealt with and I strongly suggest the no one ever buys from this location.
Here is why:
I was searching the internet for a GPS device and I found a great price on a Tom Tom Go 730 so I did an online order with Camera Addict. After placing the order, Camera Addict emailed me back to confirm the order before they will ship so I called back the next morning to confirm I and even requested overnight shipping. When I spoke to the first sales guy he talked about warranty and HE said the unit only had a 90 day warranty (Lie #1 - There is a 1 Year Parts and Labor Warranty on this Tom Tom Go product). I wanted to make sure that they could service the device so I asked if they were an Authorized Retailer of Tom Tom products and he said they were (Lie #2 - I just checked the Authorized Retailer list on the Tom Tom site and they are not on it). I said to go ahead and give me a 2 Year for $39.99 since I was unaware of the above info at the time of order. He then tried to upsell me on the maps stating that it just had the 2007 USA maps and the only way to get 2008 was to pay for their upgrade (Lie #3). I should have known at this point to cancel my order since Tom Tom Go has map share which allows for FREE upgrades but since they had so many good grades listed under their name from happy customers, I decided to move forward. At this point, I really believe that those are all falsified ratings reports by their sales people. Back to business on my experience. After declining the map upgrade, I was given a total which was $30 more than I agreed to spend. After receiving the total I asked for the person to explain and he said that the warranty was an additional $30 to cover lost and stolen products. He never said a word that the warranty changed from $40 to $70 in 30 seconds and tried to slip it by me. I said to go ahead and cancel the warranty and just overnight the Tom Tom Go. Before finalizing the deal, he promised that the product would be sent overnight and I would get it tomorrow (Lie #4 - All on one phone call). When it got to early evening and I did not get a confirmation email on my shipment, I decided to call in and check on the order. I finally got through to someone and that new person (who sounded like my original sales person) said that it did not ship because I ordered the wrong unit. I asked what he meant and he said that I ordered the device that had European Maps and not the device that had US Maps. He said that I needed to spend an additional $50 or I would get the wrong unit. I looked on their site 10 times and there is only 1 unit listed for the Tom Tom Go 730 and nothing in the description says that it is European Maps. This is called Bait & Switch, plain and simple and it is the the absolute worst way to do business. I immediately asked them to cancel my order and for the person to get me a manager so I could complain. The person I spoke with sent me to a Voice Mail for the person that I spoke to in the morning. I thought I would let it rest but I did want to speak to one of their managers so I called back in this morning and requested to speak to a manager again. The first person I spoke to (he sounded like the sales person from yesterday evening) said he was a manager and asked how he could help. I told him the issues and he flatly denied any wrong doing and said that he could not help me. He then transferred me to another Voice Mail.
Unless you are looking for a bad experience, do not do business with Camera Addicts.

I went ShopCartUSA.com, which is a shopping price search engine. Camera Addict was listed with all these rave reviews. They are all BOGUS!!! After ordering I got a guy that told me everything was in order, except would I like a battery? Okay... add that on for $79, then it only comes with a 90 day warranty. Well, the ShopCartUSA website states:
• Lowest Legitimate Price!
• New w/1 yr USA Warranty!
The above was cut and pasted directly from that site. The salesman at ext. 262 then called my brother that is the main card holder on the account, (I am an authorized user with my own card, with my name on it), he called him and asked him about the order. I told the guy I talked with my brother but it was actually my brothers wife and she didn't want it now... It was to be a present. So the salesman ruined that. So this is a company not honest. The reviews on ShopCartUSA are bogus, the info on that website for the warranty are bogus, and Camera Addict was not being honest about their reviews listed on other shopping sites. The price is actually MORE than if you shop at recognized sites like Newegg, BuyDig, Twister, Buy.com, TheNerds.net, zipzoomfly.com, Amazon, etc. Also the salesman was VERY VERY RUDE!!! Warn everyone about these people, Camera Addict. This review was modified by its author, sirluke, on

STAY AWAY!! I ordered an Olympus E-510 DSLR camera. Cameraaddict.com listed it for $200.00 less than amazon so I decided to give them a shot. But then when I called to confirm my order, a very pushy and rude guy informed me that I had actually purchased the JAPANESE version of the camera and if I wanted the American version, it would cost $200 more. I told him to cancel my order. He refused. I repeated my request. He continued three more times to get me to change my mind. Now, I respect the hard-sell. This was WAY over the top. Not only was there NO mention of the Japanese vs. American option on the website (I rechecked), but this was just blatant false advertising. Since the guy just hung up on me (no cancellation order number), I called my bank immediately and put a hold on my account and cancelled my debit card. Further, I filled out an online complaint with my State Attorney General's Office detailing my interaction.

I'm not going spend a lot of space writing what everyone wrote below. But it's all true and all happened to me. The same "15 minute" battery and bait and switch. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

DO NOT EVEN TRY...... This company violates so many business laws, its unbelievable. Why hasn't a class action lawsuit been filed against these people? I am concerned that these Con artists now have my Credit card info. They are true shysters... (Any positive reviews HAD to be written by the company itself.)

Searched online for a camcorder--Panasonic HDC-HS9, I found the order price was $679.00 at Cameraaddict.com for one. So I ordered one. I received an e-mail for verification next day. When I called, the guy told me I had to pay more $170.00 for a US battery, because the battery in the box can just work for 30 minutes. I asked him to cancel my order, but the guy stoutly refused me. He said I had only two choice, either got 25min-30min battery or got a US battery after paid more $170.00. He recommended repeatedly me to choice the second one because it lasts at least 4 hours. When I got the camcorder, the battery was still the primary one from the Panasonic Company. When I charged the battery at the first time, it just lasted 5 minutes, I guessed it had been charged. It's a second-hand battery. So I thought I was misleaded by the guy. It's a fraud!!! This review was modified by its author, y66h88den, on

Searched the "lowest price" on a Garmin Zumo 550. Every authorized reseller had them for $635 or more. Camera Addict and Brodway Photo had them at $515. I ordered, had to call to confirm, declined all the other parts they offered, and then the scam- Did I want this to work in the US? I had to buy the US maps for $119. I said the price and description (cut and paste from Garmin's page) said the US maps were loaded. Bottom line, Avoid Camera Addict. I cancelled my order and went to NavGuys. You can repeat the above conversation with Brodway photo as I tried them as well. Also- forget the reviews at "Everyprice.com" as they are bogus. I tried to post a bad review and it never showed! ShopCartUsa.com showed these guys as the lowest price for the camera I wanted. I called to and spoke to a salesperson to confirm if the camera was indeed in stock and if so I'd like to place the order over the phone. The guy confirms that the camera is in stock but that I can only place the order over the web. So I did and like many others, I receivd an email to call confirm my order and "expedite processing." I called and it turns out to be the same upselling I got from BroadwayPhoto.com. I went through the whole process of turning everything down and finalized the order. I asked and was told that my order will arrive in 7-10 days. Two days later I get another e-mail saying that the camera is on backorder. This is the same things that happened to me at BroadwayPhoto. These guys are all the same since the e-mails generated to me were exactly the same. What at bunch of losers! Needless to say, I cancelled my orders.

The "find-the-best-price" web sites gave this place good reviews. Didn't know about ResellerRatings.com. I, of course, had the same experience as all the other reviewers. However, I actually got my item (Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS) at the listed price ($351), $25-$50 less than other sites. After turning down all their "offers" to upsell me, the salesman said, "of course there is a $39.95 shipping insurance charge". So I told him to cancel the order and if he doesn't want to sell it to me that's okay by me. He then said he would give it to me at the original price. It arrived within a week with everything intact. Don't take their bait-and-switch tactics personally, I was more amused than anything. Pretend it's a game.

i placed an order for a sony bravia xbr kdl-52xbr4 hd 52'' lcd tv on 4-25-08. on 4-28-08 i answered an e-mail to confirm the order. after waiting on the phone for at least 20 min.,i finally had ''jonathan'' try to upsell me a wall mount which he explained i would need to mount the tv. i told him i would just use the one that came with the tv. jonathan said that at the price i paid, the pedestal mount that i thought came with the tv would be only another $149.00. we argued back and forth and i was told by jonathan that i could take it or cancel the order. needless to say,i cancelled the order. jonathan also said the store camera addict was a wholesale outlet and at those prices, all you get is a tv. i asked to talk to someone up the ladder, but jonathan told me he was it. all in all, a very rude and unnerrving experience. incidentally, i bought the same tv on another web site from an authorized sony dealer within 11 dollars of what i had originally agreed to at camera addict. no extra charge for the pedestal base. it comes in the factory sealed box. i would not recommend camera addict to anyone.
