I had an absolutely horrible experience with Office Depot recently. I saw the Acer x223Wbd monitor on sale on their website for 139.99 after instant savings with free shipping. Below the price, the site said "prices effective through 9/12/2009". I went to order the monitor on the evening of Sept. 11, and saw that the price had jumped to 169.99, even though the site still read "prices effective through 9/12/2009". I figured there was an error, so I called the 800 # and talked to a man named Mikey Cole. He said that he had absolutely no record of the monitor ever being priced at 139.99. Fortunately, I had printed the page before the price change, indicating the proper price. I offered to scan and email it to him, but he said he could not receive an email. So I offered to put it on an image sharing site, but he said he could not view anything but Officemax.com. Finally, I asked him if there was ANY way to prove that I was telling the truth, and - you guessed it - he said NO! I asked to speak with a supervisor, and he said that there were none on duty. Then, he started trying to bargain with me. He said he'd sell it to me for 149.99, but not the 139.99 the website had advertised. I declined. He kept trying to push me to take the 149. I asked him why he could adjust it to 149 but not to the proper 139, and he gave me a load of BS "corporate policy" stuff. He kept saying "it's a good deal" and "you should take my offer". I finally told him I would not buy from a company that runs a false advertising campaign, and that I resented their bait and switch tactics, and I hung up. NEVER BUY HERE AGAIN!

Never again. They were taking forever to ship my chair so I called to cancel it. Not only did they not cancel the order, they shipped it and charged my card AFTER I canceled the order. So far, they have refused to refund the money. I refused the chair when it came. Still no refund.
What a low life company.

I shopped at Office Depot stores before. Like their competitors, their prices were similar. I have no problem going into their store. I found a coupon code that would save me $20 so I decided this time around, I would order online, which included free shipping.
Anyways, my order was accepted and confirm with an email and an order number. The next day I received a call and was told that I needed to re-enter my credit card information over the phone. I told them that I already submitted that information over the internet and I am not going to give private information over the phone because they can't prove who they are. As far as I was concern, they can be some scammers calling me and I told them "NO".
Anyways, two days after my order. It seems I won't be getting that purchase after all. They cancelled the order. So I am assuming those people were really from Office Depot. If I had to do it again, would I have given them my information over the phone to save my purchase? NO, I still will not give private information to strangers over the phone....especially if I already gave my information over at their website.
I will never shop from them again.

I placed an order with Office Depot July 14, 2009. I received an email July 16 saying my order had been shipped, and I should receive it that same day. Office Depot charged my credit card the full amount the day they claimed it shipped.
I had still not received my order as of July 21, so I sent them an email to ask for a tracking number. Instead of providing a tracking number they informed me my order would not be delivered because of a "coupon issue." They told me to place a new order. However, the coupon I used had expired by that time, and the order would have been much more expensive.
Their email said nothing about returning my money, and as of this writing, Office Depot has not returned my money.
This is just the latest bad experience I've had with Office Depot. I've had more bad experiences with Office Depot then any other merchant I can think of. This review was modified by its author, Qubit, on

A very poor company to do business with.
Place an order on officedepot web site and got a confirmation thru e-mail.
They charge my credit card for the amount.
After a week of waiting I checked the order status on the web site and it is “shipped”.
Call the customer service and the answer I got is “we will not ship that order but we can process for you again at a higher price”
Just be careful when doing business with this company. I don’t think I will again

I ordered online and selected in-store pickup, the manager just refused my order saying now the price on our website was blah blah blah, why wouldn't he tell me the price two years ago? That's the way they did their business?

Office Depot has rather poor customer service. The floor people ignor you-- if they see you coming down aisle, and there are two or more employees standing there, they scatter like cock roaches! I always walking around the store just looking for someone to help me! that should not be.

Ordered 2 xbox bundles on Nov 20th. Delivery notice on OD website said delivery Nov 25th between 830am and 5pm. Waited home all day and finally called them at 630 and they said the item had been discontinued.
THEY HAD CHARGED MY debit card for the full amount almost 500 and held those funds up for 5 days until I called THEM.
NO update on website. NO update email. NO phone call from them.
SECOND time OD did this to me in 2 months.
No wonder their ratings are so low.
NEVER AGAIN OD, YOU ARE A HORRIBLE COMPANY.

Ordered a desk on 7/31/08. Due to the heaver weight (200lbs), it comes third party shipping. Estimated data was 8/14/08 and I was told that was probably on the long side.
Using both online live chat and the 800-GO-DEPOT number connects you to a call center in a foreign land. They could not tell me the status of my order. All I wanted to know was who the shipper was and the 'PRO' (tracking) number.
8/14/08 came and went. I was told they would submit a resolution request and someone would call me. I never got a call. After a few more calls to the call center, I finally got ahold of another support phone number for the 'business' division. At that point the lady told me the order appeared to have been lost and she would reorder it with deliver in another 2 weeks. This lady called me back later in the day saying she tracked someone down and I would receive the product on 8/20/08. I was told the driver would call either the night before or in the morning. While I did finally receive my order on 8/20, they never called. Luckily I was home.
Another thing about the call center. Before I received my product, which was nearly 3 weeks, I noticed the price went down $60. I called and asked for an adjustment since they offer a price match. I said, 'This is an easy one, your own website has lowered the price'. The incredible response was we dont price match our own prices! After I hung up and called back to speak with someone else, the next person told me sorry but they only price match for 7 days after purchase. I said that my product was not even delivered to me yet so that should not apply. Eventually I got someone who gave be back the $60 (they were too confused to refund the sales tax associated with the $60).
My lesson? Avoid officedepot.com. Their computer systems suck, their outsourced call centers are not helpful, and their delivery is poor.

I ordered a item from office Depot on 7/17/08 and the price was great and it was a price mistake. I have ordered many items at a price mistake from various merchants. Usually 1 of 2 things happen, either 1) order gets honored and shipped, or 2) order gets canceled and credit card or payment never charged.
But Office Depot has done something that has never happened to me before. After ordering the chair on 7/17/08 evening, the order status said "Status Shipped by Third Party Delivery 07/21/2008
08:30 AM - 05:00 PM". It is now 7/25/08 and I have no delivery of anything from Office Depot.
On top of that, they charged my credit card for the order without shipping anything out. I understand that merchants make price mistakes, but charging for their customers for their own price mistakes and without shipping the item out is not acceptable. Simply send me an email telling me that it's canceled and do not charge my card for the item.

Purchased a laptop and extended warranty from Office Depot. 2 years later, had to send the computer off for repair. Repair company, Cyber-Tech (or equipfix) cracked the case and neither Office Depot or Cyber-Tech will repair the computer

Horrible experience!
Purchased $200 item online on 6/14 with next day delivery. Online status was useless. Immediately said "shipped by 3rd party" delivery date 6/30 8:30am-5:00pm. Called after 5pm on 6/29 to make sure it was on track and I was told by automated service it had been delivered. Agent verified address and other info and said they couldn't do anything and no one there could help. Was told I would recieve a call in 4 "business hours" (meaning by noon the next day). Person called 6/30 and left VM saying that they had no information but would contact the manufacturer and get back to me.
Called back today 7/1 and while the agent was more helpful the result was the same. "Will recieve call with in 4 business hours". By noon tommarow I expect an answer or a refund.
Will never order online from OfficeDepot again.

Customer service is terrible! The order was cancelled without sending me an email, even though the status online said it was shipped by 3rd Party and will be delivery the next. Very Disappointed with customer service who couldn't tell me why it was cancelled. Bad Service!!!

Ordered tax software with online deal with pick-up in store. A couple of days later, when I drove to the store, they told me the IT dept. made a mistake and the deal was invalid and the order was canceled. They made no effort to contact me to tell me the order was canceled causing me to waste my time and gas for a useless trip. I sent them an email complaining of their poor service. No reply back. Obviously, they don't care about individuals who purchase from them. No problem. There is a Staples and Office Max and BestBuy, etc. in town.

Ordered a few items on Saturday. The first oddity was that the everything indicates that you will be receiving "free next business day delivery" right up until the end at which point it changes to three day delivery. That in itself seems very strange to me given that it would be very easy to code the notification to indicate that free delivery is no longer an option.
The second problem with the order is how they shipped it. For whatever reason they decided to ship it with in-person signature required...for a $50 order. This works fine if you are home when UPS decides to deliver, but if you are not, the only option is to leave work early and to drive the 15 miles each way to pick up your package. OfficeDepot.com staff were extremely unhelpful to the point of disconnecting during he middle of the conversation.
Overall, extremely dissatisfied. This review was modified by its author, Steven@Jeffery, on
