total rip off. paid 8 months ago and never received magazine. phone number is 702-563-5988. doesn't respond to voicemail or email. can't believe they are allowed to operate. theplanet.com is their web server and they have been asked on a number of occasions to delete this criminals account. Shame on the web hosting company for facilitating this felon.
Add me to the list of people that never received their order. I placed and paid for my order last November 9th, 2008.
I've sent numerous emails, but never hear from them.
Something needs to be done to stop them from stealing from anyone else.
Joel Simkhai why not provide a valid telephone to talk to a REAL person?? I have sent multiple emails in regards to my orders & have NOT received a response back. All I want is my magazines! OR my money back!
i made 2 orders without knowing magsforless and almostfreemags were the same company. 1st order was back in 2006. next one in early 2008. nothing at all. no response. what can we do? we need to get together and take this company down. how can we get the address and phone numbers?
Halfpricedmags.com is a COMPLETE scam of a Web site. I had placed a few successful orders before I decided to order a "bridal package" of 3 wedding magazines for a friend, none of which she ever received. They replied and said they'd resubmit the order, but it was too late for her to use the magazines at that point. I then placed an order for Us Magazine over a year ago and have NEVER received it. I've e-mailed the company several times with nothing but an automated response. I am now forced to take my matter to small claims court, over a measly $36.59. Just send me my DAMN MAGAZINE!!!!!
Crooks. Never got magazines. Got a reply to first email saying they would resubmit. Still no mags. Now they wont answer ANY emails. Stay away from these crooks.
Same story as everyone else... I ordered 12 subscriptions back in July, I should have known better, and I so wish I had seen this website before I ordered. I have not seen one magazine, and no one will answer my emails. I have gotten to where I send one everyday, and not even a peep, even to tell me to f*ck off. THIS GUY IS A FRAUD AND SCAM!!!!!! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS (ALL OF) WEBSITES!!!!!
I should have read here first. They charged my card the day I placed the magazine order, but no magazine to date (December 2007!!)Same story as other shoppers: delayed too long to file claim thru credit card. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Should have known better from the terrible website. It's very hard to navigate. Some log-ins don't work at all. I have two different log-in names which have to be used in different spots. But what good is that when nobody responds. How can these people be shut down??? Uggghhh ----
I also go ripped off by this store. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE. THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU. Something for people to think about is call your bank . There is a department for false charges and they will fight for you. I got my money from the bank and now they are going after Half Priced Mags. Even though it had been 5 months after the fact.
Count me among the people that were bilked by Half Price Magazine.
I ordered Reader Digest for two years for $12. Should have known it's too good to be true. I've contact the company to no avail. And trying to use their "ticket" process doesn't work. I created user name/password but now when I try to use it it doesn't work. Said login invalid. Then tried my email name and got same error. In other words, the web site just puts me in a loop.
I called AMEX to dispute the charge, but they can't do anything after 60 days. Hmm, guess Half Price Mag knows this, that is why they said it will take 8 to 10 weeks. Too late to dispute the charge.
Like everyone else on this site, I ordered and never received my magazine from halfpricedmags.com This is the first time I ever had a bad experience ordering online. I've emailed and emailed, opened "tickets" on their customer support page, all to no avail. I filed a complaint with the BBB today. Also, emailed the owner, if indeed that is his email that is posted on this page. We'll see what happens.
I ordered a 2 year subscription to W Magazine for my wife in mid-May 2007. I have sent them 4 emails at this point, complaining of not having received the first issue yet. After the first email I received an auto response and then a message appearing to be written by a cust service lady (likely not the case) that offered me a refund or a fixed problem and putting a "rush" on the order. I chose the rush even though it had been about 3 months already. All my follow up emails have only gotten an automatic reply, if anything. The say on the site the max time to receive the first issue is 12 weeks (3 months). It has now been 5 months and I have lost all hope of receiving the subscription i ordered and paid about $14 for. Enough said...
You get what you pay for. If it looks too good to be true, then it is! I fell for it. I ordered $50 worth of magazines at unbelievable prices. And I shouldn't have believed it! Something told me to research the company AFTER I placed my order and I ran into this site. I immediately called my credit card company and cancelled my order. For fun however I decided to keep trying to "work" with half priced magazines to see what would have happened? Take my advice. You will never get a magazine. This guy is flying under radar and I don't know how he does it but he does. Hes found a loop hole...buyer beware. Cancel your order immediately, you will NEVER receive a magazine from any of his companies!! None of the magazines knew anything about him when I wrote their subscription departments. None of them!
My husband and I ordered a magazine subscription from Half Priced Mags. They charged our credit card $135, but the magazines never came. We now know this is a scam after reading about it on this website and calling the magazine, Us Weekly, who told us we have no subscription and this seller is not an authorized agent. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at this website: www.ftc.gov/ftc/cmplanding.shtm, and hopefully it will do some good. Though the FTC does not resolve individual complaints, it can act when it sees a pattern. These people are nothing but thieves and need to pay back the people they have robbed.
On the 2.August 2007,I ordered two magazine subscriptions on "halfpricedmags.com" for the amount of $75.60.I trusted the website and paid with my card. There was no phone number for this website,so I wrote an e-mail twice. The first one to ask when the first issues arrive and the second one that I'm waiting for the answer of the first one and that I would like to get a phone number to contact them(in both mails!)Both times an automated e-mail came back(a copy of my original e-mail) and I started to think that this is very strange.I was thinking about a rip-off and searched in google(where I also got the website from!) for this company.AND I was right!!!The stories of other customers were very similar to mines. The different was they all had to wait for months to get their money back, cause they found out very late about the rip-off.Some of them never got their money back.
And I also found the person's name who runs the website. This is how it works. This person(Joel Simkhai)runs his bussines under other names like magsforless.com (Mags For Less),my1mag.com (My1 Mag),snappymags.com (Snappy Mags),411.com (Mags 411) beside halfpricedmags.
People pay for those magazine subscriptions and wait. For months. When they try to contact this person, the e-mails stay unanswered. There is also a phone number.BUT this phone numbers will tell you(answering machine)that you should not call and write instead. The phone numbers are 888-720-6298 and 800-435-1064.They are answered by the same voice on an answering machine. It is very obvious that this is a SCAM!!!PLEASE DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING from this site(s)!!!!I had a charge back from my bank after I wrote them about the situation.Cause I never received anything from bbb, when I first made a complaint.
AGAIN:DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING!!!!!!!!
