KEH has fantastic phone support/service and offers an incredible range of products at very competitive prices. True industry experience and product knowledge set KEH apart from their competitors.
They understand how important customer relations and phone support are and they excel. When I ordered a Canon 20D and battery grip, which UPS lost, KEH replaced the ordered before UPS had a resolution so I would have my equipment for a shoot that I had scheduled.
KEH is a great place to do business with and I will continue to do business with them in the future. This review was modified by its author, mdunmore, on

These people are still operating with the quaint idea that they should exceed their customers' expectations. They are also famous for underrating their used gear. Stuff they rate as "bargain" grade would rate an "excellent" in most other places - which really does make it a bargain.
My latest order was a used lens which is very hard to find. They had it in great condition for a price which was 2/3 or less of what I could find it on ebay - if I could find it.
I placed an order after the cutoff time for next-day shipping. It shipped the next day anyway. Paid for ground delivery, it was shipped via 2-day. Instead of receiving my lens in 10 days, I'm getting it in two. I love this place. This review was modified by its author, santi, on

I've been dealing with KEH for decades. They probably have the largest stock of used equipment on the planet -- I don't know of another dealer that has a more comprehensive catalog. They strive to be honest and fair in a their dealings. This is a reflection of the integrity of King Grant who owns the business.
Descriptions of gear are usually accurate though they don't seem to check things as thoroughly as they did in the past so I've had to return a higher percentage of items in recent years. Returns are generally handled well even if the credit to an account takes a while.
Their ordertakers are usually quite friendly when contacted by phone but be forewarned that most of them are not good with follow-up and follow-through. Also, inquiries sent to their general email address seem to go down a black hole so if you have questions, call them directly. This is unfortunate for potential buyers outside of the U.S. as it forces them to pay for a phone call when an email should suffice.
All in all, one of the best sources in the world for used and new camera equipment. Just don't expect the ordertakers to know much about the equipment.

My first purchase from this vendor has been a good experience. The item was fairly graded, well packaged and delivered quickly.
At the same time I was buying I was also selling. KEH offered a fair price and accurate grading of the equipment I sent in. Hope to do more business with KEH in the future.

Over the years I have spent many gold coins at KEH. They are very knowledgable, depending on the salesperson you get. Their stock is graded fairly for quality. Their prices are at the top-end of "used" equipment, but I have always found their gear workable. The few times I have had to return items, there have been no big hassles.
They are honest, and comport themselves with integrity. This is a tough business we're in...and trying to stay viable, and provide good service takes committment on the part of both staff and management.
Sure, things can and do go wrong. But buyer attitude will help seller attitude, in most cases. Be reasonable. Be specific. And be firm. They are human, and will respond professionally.
I have sold them gear, too. Prices are at the low end of what independent selling might bring. BUT...you don't have the toils of ads and calls, or table fees at swaps. I've done all that...sigh.
High-end....low-end...the gear has been represented fairly, and I've used it profitably. And creatively, too!
That's what counts in my book!

They're are professional. I've order an expensive used lens for a camera and the lens I received was in a very good state, corresponding to its description on their on-line shop. Customer service is accurate. Prices quite high, but they're in line with the service and products offered. I would buy again from them. Giuseppe

I purchased Minolta A1 camera. It was rated in excellent condition on KEH site. The price was reasonable for me 339$. Delivery charges were 30$ to Canada- FedEx International Express Delivery. Once received, camera looks great to me; I would say it is in more than excellent condition- no scratches on the body or on the lenses, all dials are in perfect condition. So far it works fine. The ordering process was very easy and completely done online. No phone calls, no pressure from their side. It took 5 working days to fulfill the whole process. I would definitely recommend KEH to all buyers. I personally have intention to purchase some manual or rangefinder camera from KEH soon.

I purchased a used 'Excellent Plus' lens from KEH for use with my Pentax *istDS. This AF lens would not auto-focus on the DS. I replaced the camera batteries with a fresh set to ensure the lens was getting adequate power and I cleaned the contacts on both the lens and the camera. Nothing brought the lens to life. I called KEH and was told to return the lens for a full refund and also that they would cover the cost of postage to return the lens. US Postal Service tracking confirmed the lens was delivered to KEH in Atlanta on 10/11/2005. On the 20th I called KEH to ensure they had the lens and that they were processing the refund. I was told they had the lens and were processing the credit to my card. The support person stated they were behind but that my credit should be processed by Friday the 21st.
As of today, 10/27/2005, the credit still does not appear on my credit account when checked on-line. I am disappointed with the service I've had with KEH and will not do business with them again.
Incidentally, they did not have another lens that could be sent to replace the defective lens.

KEH is awesome! I purchased a mamiya 645 pro TL system from them - camera body, film backs, prism, lenses - and exerything was much better than I expected. And when I found that the spacing of frames on the film back was uneven, they swapped it out. No problem!

I bought a nikon f5 camera that was rated in "excellent" condition from KEH about three weeks ago. The transaction was smooth and I was notified about the shipping information right away. I got the shipment as promised, but was surprised by the fact that the camera did not work when I put all 8 AA batteries. Luckily, I had a co-worker who had F5 with him and got to try his battery pack to see if the camera powers up and it did! The problem was the battery pack, so I went to B&H and bought a new battery pack.
Although the customer support representative was very friendly and apologized for the problem, and also promised to replace it quickly, I was somewhat disappointed by KEH that it did not really test the equipment before selling it. I am sure this was a mistake by KEH, but have to say i was somewhat disappointed.

I purchased a used Sigma 28-80mm zoom from KEH and was so pleased at the quick service that I went back for more. I just purchased a used Sigma 170-500mm Autofocus zoom.
The sales person was concerned that the lens might not work on the Nikon D70s I own, so he wrote it up as a sale to be held and protected it from being sold out from under me. This had happened with another piece I wanted... waited too long. He then called Sigma to confirm the compatability and called my home the next day to tell me the lens would function fine.
When I called back to talk to him, he was on the phone so his boss picked up the line and completed the sale under the salesperson's number (they are commissioned and earn it). The Boss then supplied me with some suggested filters and hoods for existing lenses at a substantially discounted price. When he found out the original lens I had purchased had no front or rear cap, he included them at no charge immediately.
KEH ships quickly and wraps securely and I will continue to use them. Their website navigates easily and is updated about every two hours. Feel safe with them.

I hanve been buying used and new products from KEH for 8 years or more and have never been dissapointed. I only had to return one item and that was hassle free. I would not hesitate to buy from them again.
