This is my second order with KEH, and second problem with them. The first time I ordered a new lens with overnight shipping and it arrived as expected. I later found out that I was charged more for shipping than my email confirmation showed. They credited me back in within a couple days of contacting them so no harm done. On my second order I needed a lens ASAP so ordered it with overnight shipping. One week later I haven't heard a peep from them and still don't have a lens. I sent an email a couple days ago with no response. I have heard great things about them, but think it's time for me to start purchasing things elsewhere.

For used photo equipment -- Simply the Best! Totally agree with others that KEH is very conservative in "rating" their products -- the lens I just recieved looks even better than described. If KEH has it, there's no reason to gamble with eBay (and you won't find the 60-day return warranty elsewhere)!

after dealing with those fraudulent online "businesses", KEH are a breath of fresh air. superior customer service. i purchased a used canon body. it appears to be brand new, and functions as such. very pleased with my first KEH transaction, and look forward to doing business again. very satisfied.

On April 1 I ordered a lens from this company online. It was in stock, and I ordered second day air. On April 4 I rec'd UPS tracking information, which showed that the lens didn't leave KEH until April 4. We thought it would ARRIVE April 4 !! The package then spent four days going from Atlanta GA to Louisville KY, and is expected to arrive here in CT April 8. If we're lucky. How is that second day air? I could have driven there and back in that amount of time -- eight days. I called KEH and they couldn't have been less helpful. They had no explanation, and just said they didn't know why I got their confirmation e-mail April 1, but the lens wasn't shipped til April 4. And what's with UPS driving a second day air package for five days? This lens was bought for a student who is going on a school trip to Europe, leaving April 9. If the lens doesn't arrive, he will lose the opportunity of a lifetime. Extremely disappointed in shipping and in customer service. Will never never use KEH or UPS again.

I recently bought a used Nikon 35mm 1.4 lens from KEH. This is the first time that I have ever ordered an item from this company, so I didn't know what to expect from them. I was absolutely amazed! The lens was rated E+ on their scale so I figured it would be pretty nice. It was like new! Never before have I gotten a "used" lens that looked so good! I'd swear it was new! The glass is super clean and the finish on the outside showed absolutely no signs of use. The front and rear caps even look new. I am totally satisfied! It came wrapped in bubble wrap and packed tightly in packing peanuts. The shipping box was of proper size to protect it as well... a very professional job in my opinion. If anyone asked me my opinion on weather or not to order from them, I'd say, "go for it! Have no fear!" I got what I wanted and the shipment arived when they said it would. I will definately look to them for my next used purchase.

I ordered at 4pm on friday with keh, 2day air. I was expecting to receive the shipment notification saturday like the website stated (2day air shipped next business day) no email. I called, and got rung up to a nonstop ringing phone. I called back a 2nd time, and same thing happened. I finally called back Monday. I got jerked around and nothing was resolved. I called back tuesday morning, standing outside in 5F weather without a coat on, to call them up. After wasting 5 minutes of my 15 minute break, and being transfered twice, the person said "we needed to verify your shipping adress" After veryifying it, it got shipped and arrived thursday. Keh had my telephone number and email adress. They failed to use either one and contact me on this. Worst customer service ive ever dealt with. 100% unhappy with Keh

They did a fabulous job. They paid more than fair value for my 2 film cameras. Then when I called back to order a new digital SLR took a new percent off an already great price and sent me exactly what I wanted. Brand new NIB in three days. Clearly factory fresh and USA warr. Nikon D300/18-200 outfit

I ordered a bargain lens from them, and couldn't be more impressed with the condition of the lens and the quality of their customer service. I spoke with Ken over there and he patiently explained how they work and showed me my man options. Absolutely terrific and I hope to be a customer of their's for a long time!

Good communication and delivery. Would recommend. They had the Nikon slide scanner that everyone else had on backorder. Shipment came well packed.

Ordered a like new minus lens from KEH at a good price (60% of new from anywhere respectable). They shipped promptly and received the lens 3 working days later after international shipment. Lens is in the perfect condition and in line with their ratings, all tests show it to be performing well. Satisfied and will not hesitate to consider using KEH again.

I purchased a grey market used D70 from KEH.com for cheaper than I could have gotten on eBay. It was shipped the day before they said it would, it was in better condition than I expected, AND it came with more stuff than was listed! Not only did I get the battery, charger, and camera, which is all it said I would get, I got the CR2 battery holder, a strap, and the remote. I really don't know if I could tell the difference between this and a new item, besides a bit of dust around the rubber eyepiece (try cleaning THAT off!) I am very impressed and will go to KEH.com for future online used camera purchases.

I bought a used digital SLR camera, rated Excellent, from KEH; it died within their 2 week return policy. The return process was pleasant enough (although I received conflicting instructions from two customer service people); they told me to expect that my credit card would be credited within 8 to 10 days, plus $10 for shipping. I waited longer than that and had to remind them to credit my card. The $10 wasn't credited. This was my first buying experience with KEH, and I won't do business with them again.

I bought a leica m6 in ex condition. It looked like ex but the meter was broken. I wonder whether they actually test their equipment or whether they just check it for cosmetic damage. My friend got a ziess 50mm distagon that looks perfect but the 1 second is off. Once again I wonder if they check the item or just look at its physical characteristics. Fortunately their return policy is quite nice. I sent the leica back and will receive a refund shortly.

I've found that KEH generally VERY conservative in their condition ratings. They must have a team of experts cleaning their stock because even the UG and BGN lenses that I've purchased have been cosmetically perfect.  
 
Sometimes, their UG items are really just lenses with a jammed aperture pin or something like that. I've gotten one or two that were easily fixed.  
 
Their return policy is excellent, allowing you to return items, no questions asked.  
 
I once forgot to add a $7 lens cap to a big order, so I emailed them to add it for me. The order was sent off to the warehouse before the lens cap could be added, so their shipping manager sent the cap in a separate package to me, free of charge!  
 
Overall, I've had a great experience with KEH. My only gripe is that they don't have a cheaper shipping option, but that really only matters when you want to buy a few cheap accessories.

I have had good dealings with KEH since 1999.  
They have always been completely up-front and honest. They ship extremely quickly and provide excellent email notice of progress. Since I purchase "user," not collectible, stuff I have usually ordered BGN grade gear and have been very satisfied with the results. Lately however, their quality has gone downhill. I have had to return the last two orders I have placed- in one case, a motor drive was DOA, it even had "doesn't fire" written on it as delivered from them. In several others, lenses have had serious optical problems, which in the past didn't happen. The cosmetics on BGN gear may not have been first rate, as expected, but the optics have been ok. In fairness, they are always willing to make things right, but that's my other problem. In addition to paying for shipping both ways, it takes them AT LEAST two weeks AFTER they get the order back to credit your card with the return, and in the last two cases it took a phone call each time, then several more days. I will order from KEH again, but I recommend calling and talking to a sales rep to place your order. They work on commission, and can actually have the warehouse send stuff over to them and they can describe it to you. They also have a vested interest in your happiness. If you order online, you better stick to EX or better grades, even to get useable stuff.
