After ordering two software items, I received an acknowledgement via email. The next day, my credit card was billed. After several days, I called and found that one item was out of stock and due in within one week. Subsequently, I received no further contact from the company.  
 
After nearly two weeks, I emailed Software Outlet and advised they had three days to process my order. Still no response.  
 
I've now emailed and called and left a message to cancel my order. I will dispute the charges if funds are not credited back to me within three business days.  
 
SoftwareOutlet.com do not communicate and think nothing of using customer or credit card companies funds for short term gain without delivering product(s).  
 
Avoid SoftwareOutlet.com.

I don't think a company should be blamed for a single product. If Nero 6 was first listed as a full copy, that is a legitimate complaint. But I see it listed as an OEM copy, which shouldn't be expected to work with all drives.  
 
Realize that this is a company that sells older software cheaply. I have purchased from them 4 times, and each time I received everything I asked for in excellent condition. I am very happy with SoftwareOutlet.com!

Bought Nero 6 software, CD only. I knew it was probably OEM but from the description from the site I believed I could burn DVDs and I would be getting Nero Burning Rom.  
 
#1 issue. I was charged immediately but did not have my software shipped until after 8 days.  
 
#2 issue. I was charged $6 UPS shipping and received $1-$2 USPS media mail.  
 
#3 issue. After the problem with not getting Nero Rom I emailed them for a refund and return and nearly one and a half months later no response as of yet.  
 
Conclusion: Bad business practices and lousy customer service. Not trustworthy and I will never buy from this company again

We ordered one Winfax Pro 10.02 on 4/25/03 from Softwareoutlets and received their email confirmation on the same day. They did not ship the version we ordered, they shipped us version 10.0. We have some problems with version 10.0 on Windows XP and emailed to them to exchange. They have not replied to our email request of exchanging to the version we ordered (Winfax Pro 10.02).

I ordered Norton Antivirus Professional and Nero6  
on Aug 23 and my credit card was charged. They would not respond to my email. I called once and they said the Nero was backordered and they were holding the Norton till Nero was in. One month later, I still had nothing. No responses  
to my email. I cancelled my order on and asked  
for a refund. Two days later the credit was posed  
to my credit card account.

took them about 20 days to send nero 6 i ordeded.never reponded to email. the oem nero 6 has big problems. would not play dvd (my xp does have directx9)worse yet, it destroyed my other dvd players. reintalling software and discovering the problem kill at least 10 hours of time. refund is not worth it. these people are the worst i have dealt with

Ordered 2 software items. Credit card was charged 2 days later. After 2 weeks, the package still hadn't arrived. Customer service wouldn't answer several polite email queries. After 2 days of calling, I was able to reach someone on the phone who told me that the package had just been shipped (it had, and arrived a few days later in a box, but with no M&Ms).  
 
Even though this order wasn't the best of experiences, I'm not fuming mad at this company like some people are. Why not? Because I bought $80 worth of software for $25. The adage "You get what you pay for" is something that every mature adult should have learned and understood. If you want retail versions of software with top-notch customer service and support, go to your local store and pay retail prices. If you want Nero 6 for $10, understand that it won't be a pleasant experience, you'll probably get an OEM version, and there's a good chance you'll get ripped off anyway.  
 
I might do business with them again if the deal is good enough and the risk is worth it. But if you need the software right away and there's a chance that you'll need customer service, avoid this company.

Ordered Nero 6 on 8/21/03. Credit card charged immediately. Following inquiry two weeks later, was told that the item is backordered and would come soon. The next day the emailed me that the product was shipped. USPS confirm number they provided has yet to work. Three weeks later, I do not have what I ordered, and I have no clue what the current situation is. This store is hopeless. RUN AWAY!!!  
 
Emailed them about problem with order to three different addresses (customer-support, sales & orders@softwareoutlet.com). No reply.  
 
Bare disk arrived in the mail today in a flimsy mailing envelop. Only got Nero 6 OEM suite, limited version, with only Nero Express and without several other programs, NOT the Burning Rom 6 as listed on their website. Scam artists!

I tried them twice. The first time I ordered a couple software titles. I got a notice that the items were backordered. This dragged on for a couple weeks. Finally, I cancelled the order.  
 
I gave them a second chance, ordering a copy of Nero6. They charged my card right away, but did not ship the product. I didn't get response to my repeated inquiries about the status of my order. Finally, I cancelled this order but haven't heard from them, so I may have to contact my credit card company.  
 
They advertise great prices but but in my experience, do not deliver. In my opinion, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY.

I purchased Nero 6 from this site softwareoutlet.com. At my time of purchase Nero 6 was described as a full version but CD only. However, when it arrived it was really an OEM version of Nero Express 6.  
 
This OEM Nero 6 is supposed to be sold only with a CD or DVD burner, so thanks to softwareoutlet.com, I have a version of Nero 6 that is not legal for me to use.  
 
Also, I was charged $5.95 for UPS GROUND, but, softwareoutlet.com shipped my CD in a flimsy envelope by US Postal Service Media Mail.  
 
Very bad experience! I would advise everyone to avoid this retailer.  
 
I sent an email to Ahead Software(maker of Nero6) here is their reply:  
 
"Dear Phil,  
 
Thank you for your recent inquiry.  
You should not be able to order Nero OEM versions as a standalone  
product. Nero OEM versions are supposed to be bundled with a CDRW drive  
or a PC / notebook. The software you are about to order is not only  
illegal but may also be restricted to certain features and drives only.  
I would suggest that you try to get the full Nero Retail box which  
supports all drives and features. You can purchase the Ultra Edition  
from our website or at any of these stores: Best Buy CompUSA Fry's  
Amazon Circuit City

I am EXTREMELY ANGRY at this HORRIBLE COMPANY. THEY RIPPED ME OFF. I purchased and copy of Nero 6 from them on 8/20/03. They charged my card immediately and have yet to ship the product. I have contacted the 3 times via e-mail, and each time they promise to ship it out a certain day and that day goes by and no tracking #. The last e-mail I sent was threatening and rightfully so because I didn't hear back from them at all. This is pure fraud and I will call the state attorney generals office to file a fraud complaint against them. I want my money back from this scam company. Burn in hell.

Update: I have sent these people 3 e-mails through their web form and one other. I tried to call the sales number and could only get voice mail: left message. Still have had zero response from these crooks. They charged my card on 8-20-03 and I've heard nothing else from them since. Ordered Nero6 x 2 and one other title. I've turned it over to MasterCard for dispute. I will NEVER order from this company again. I hope they fold and lose everything.

It took over 1 week to receive Nero 6. Did not inform me that it was not shipped out due to some type of delay. Also the version of Nero is an OEM version even thought it listed the ability to use the powerful Nero Burning Rom, the OEM version only lets you use the weaker Nero Express program. Site did not list this until very very recently. It maybe fine for some, but I expected the full version. If you still plan to order call before you place an order to make damn sure you're getting what you're ordering.

I used softwareoutlet.com to send a fathers day gift. I sent the gift through their on line service four days before fathers day. I figured with their quick shipping I would have plenty of time. In fact in the comments section I wrote them and told them it was for fathers day. Three days later they contacted me and told me they were holding my order because even though the site said the software was in stock it was not so they were holding it until the order was complete. I called them and told them I needed it sent out now. They were impossible to get a hold of and after several tries they said they would get it there by the Monday after fathers day. Monday came and went and my father did not receive it. I called them again and they said they had sent it out priority mail and could not track it. After several phone calls they gave me and tracking number and they had in fact not sent it out until that Wednesday. Finally the Friday following fathers day he received his package. Working with this company was terrible. I would never use this company again and I would recommend that no one else does unless they have an indefinite amount of time for their software to arrive.

Saw a deal too good to be true but never heard of Softwareoutlet. Took a chance because it was a 24 hour sale and I got in at 4 mins to deadline. I should've just came here to Resellers' because the ratings so far are right. Good price, fast shipping, good pruduct. Very professional.
