Worst customer service experience ever.  
I ordered software from Software Outlet & paid for 2nd Day Air delivery. When I returned home from my client's office for the week, I found the software had not been delivered. UPS 'attempted delivery' 3 times and declared success by failing to deliver the package with my software. I called UPS and was told I was not the customer, & that Software Outlet required the 'in person' signature.  
 
Using the online help with Software Outlet, I tried to find out why the package had not been delivered. Software Outlet claimed that if I had signed the attempted delivery notice, the package would have been delivered. After explaining multiple times that this was not what UPS was stating, Software Outlet confirmed that it was their instructions that required and 'in person' signature for delivery.  
 
Software Outlet corrective actions: NONE.  
 
Software Outlet would wait until UPS returned the package, and resend it to an alternate address. A week later I inquired about the status of the shipment and Software Outlet said they were waiting for UPS to return the package. So, now I not only do not have the products ordered, but I have no idea when I will get them. And Software Outlet's position is that they have 'tried to work with me' to resolve this issue.  
Also, my credit card was charged on the day of the order.

This company misrepresents their products. I purchased their Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 from their website which shows a picture of the full retail version and I ended up with just the CD. After a phone call to the company, I now know what OEM software is, but on their website, they do not make it clear that it is not the full retail version.(It is a very small link to a list of definitions of software types). Then to top it all off, it took 2 phone calls to get someone to call me back from customer service and the individual who called me back does not know the first thing about how to deal with upset customers. He was extremely rude and defensive on the phone. I asked to return the product because it was not what I thought I had purchased and he informed me that they would charge a 20% restocking fee and shipping. What a rip-off. I will never purchase from the softwareoutlet.com again.

I ordered Quicken 2006 Deluxe from software outlet. I received it about 6 days later and installed it. It removed my Quicken 2003 and then directed me to Quicken's site to either enter a pin or repurchase the product. I have emailed and called customer service at Softwareoutlet and have gotten no response. No one answers their phone -- you can only leave a voice mail and no one returns calls. The only email response I got was that they would be getting back to me. So, now I cannot access any of my financial information.

Horrible company - three weeks after order, they still hadn't shipped, although they charged my credit card immediately. I had to call to cancel order per their own instructions, which I did twice, then they sent the package, on the night of my second cancellation. I have sent package back and they still have not issued credit 1 1/2 months later. Instead, they are trying to con the credit card company. Treat these guys like poison...

orderer on 8-27 and received a order confirmation almost imeadiatly.e-mailed them on 8-30 when I didn't get a shipping confirmation and again on 9-1, neither e-mail was aknowledged. product was recieved on 9-2.tracking system never worked

A NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Absolutely the most atrocious, incompetent, unprofessional service and nasty, arrogant, rude, undisciplined, employees with bad attitudes up to and including top management! Ordered Corel Draw Graphics 12 and an additional instructional cd online. Received an e-mail INSISTING in ALL CAPS that I didn't supply an accurate shipping address. I immediately responded re-stating my home address, (like I don't know my own address?)! A week later got a second e-mail stating "FINAL NOTICE - order will be cancelled unless you supply correct shipping address!" Wrote back AGAIN requesting to be contacted by a manager. Received an insulting, infantile response from Jessica Fuentes, a customer service(?) representative! Called to complain and was verbally abused by the "General Manager". Wrote to the company President and was completely ignored! Bought the Corel Graphics 12 from internet recommended VioSoftware at a LOWER PRICE!! There are just too many other good, discount, internet companies one can patronize to risk doing any business with these folks.

On 4/14 I placed an order for a "Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0".  
 
The wrong product was sent. I received a:  
"Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse Blue".  
 
I ordered the new mouse to gain two features of the "Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0" which are a tilt scroll wheel and improved battery life. The item I received has neither and is no improvement over my current mouse.  
 
I requested a return which was approved. Though it was their mistake I got no refund of shipping charges either direction.

I have made three purchases from this retailer and the items have all arrived in two days. The company is in Souther California and so am I so that makes my deliveries quick. The items are not full American retail releases but I didn't really expect them to be considering the prices. Remember folks, you get what you pay for. Use common sense when ordering from any online retailer. The company may have had problems in the past but they seem to be well run now. I can't talk about the customer service except from the standpoint of timely processing and shipment. I will continue to order form them until they do me wrong and then I will update this review should that happen.

Shipped reasonably quickly. Items not as described. One item non-functional upon receipt.  
Two requests for return authorization number ignored. Poor customer service. Don't bother with this company. Inferior products and poor service.

I purchased OFFICE XP PROFESSIONAL for $194.94 at softwareoutlet.com and i received a shady cd with a shady cd cover. I typed the product key from the shady sticker and.. TADA.. it didnt work. I called them up and after two days complaining they finally sent me a product key. But the key was the same goddamn product key. They were terrible at returning my emails and calls. The freaking key is fake! So, I called microsoft up and reported piracy.

It's rare that I don't check ResellerRatings before buying online. This time I had a lapse in judgment and bought from SoftwareOutlet.com without checking the ratings. Folks, everything negative you've read here is right on the money.  
 
I ordered from SoftwareOutlet and got an invoice within minutes. Two days later, the charge was posted to my credit card. But I've yet to receive a follow-up email about my order status. I filled out the Contact Us form on SoftwareOutlet's Web site to request my order status and tracking number, if one were available. No one responded. Then, I called the Customer Service number. No one was available, so I decided to call back later. When I called back, again no one was available, so I left a message and asked that someone email my order status and tracking number. No one responded. So I called yet again to request the same information. Again, no one was available to answer my call, so I left a message to cancel my order. Because I made that request just today, I can't comment on SoftwareOutlet's timeliness in crediting my account.  
 
This experience, if nothing else, confirms the importance of reading and considering feedback before ordering. I'd highly recommend staying away from this company, whos practices appear to be highly disorganized if not unethical.

One of the worst online stores out there.... I purch nov 11.....Its now almost jan 2004, and I havent recieved it yet. Nothing is in stock like they mention
