I used to order all my photography stuffs from 2 reputable stores in NYC and was not aware of Canoga until somebody from the yahoo forum I belong to suggested that I try the store. I did and was not sorry at all...the price is competitive, excellent packaging, fast shipping and has one of the lowest prices around. Customer service with Chris is excellent and commendable. I highly recommend this store.

I have ordered a Canon Rebel XSI and zoom lense from Canoga. I received exactly what I ordered with no problems at all. I also feel that thier prices are better than most. If you know what you're looking for, want a competitive price and no hassle I recommend Canoga. They have my business.
Recently I ordered a Nikon AF 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G VR AF-S DX lens from Canoga Camera. The lens shipped the same day and arrived on time. Canoga Camera's excellent customer service maintains its high standard first found when I decided to look seriously at Nikon's D70 about 4 years ago. At that time I had read some excellent reviews of a Nikon dealer called Canoga Camera, so I called and spoke with a customer representative.
That man patiently answered questions about switching from film to digital format and the advantages of the D70. Not once did he try to "sell" the camera; on the contrary he made sure what I thought I needed was in fact what I wanted, with no pressure, no patronizing. That D70 still performs well - now with a brand new 16-85mm VR lens on mount.
Subsequently I got a great deal on a D40 locally. Swayed by performance reports for Nikon's 18-200 VR, and because of Canoga Camera's formerly outstanding customer service, I ordered that lens from Canoga on the 25th of November, 2007. Then, as now with the 16-85mm lens, I was unaffected by the many, many choices and "promises" offered on line and in stores for camera stuff, because I know Canoga's service record; so, as with any "good thing," I am sticking with it. I don't purchase photography equipment very often, but when the time comes again, Canoga Camera has a loyal customer here and my next purchase will be from them.

I ordered a Canon 40D on 1/12/09 from Canoga Camera. Though they weren't my first choice, they had the lowest price at the time on my camera & lens. Within 12 hrs my shipping info was available to me. My item arrived as promised and was packaged very well. Everything was in excellent condition. Will definitely purchase my second lens from Canoga.
I went to the store & although it was only a small retailer place for walk-in customers, the staff they have are all very courteous and knowledgeable about the things I need. I was looking for a case I saw on their website, and when I asked about it, the girl immediately checked their inventory and went scouring their stockroom for exactly the item I needed (& I got it!). Also there was another customer who was taking forever deciding between a Nikon D300 and D700 & the sales girl never became pushy "on buying the more expensive one" nor offered him of "ridiculous upgrades" that would skyrocket his bill unnecessarily. This store is not only good online, they really rock it out overall.

I ordered a Nikon D700 on this day along with other gear; the website said all of the equipment including he camera was in stock including the camera. I received a phone call on December 2 stating the camera was not in stock, but would be there in 1-2 days. The salesperson I spoke with apologized for this and told me the shipment was delayed and that they thought it would be there in 1-2 days; I mentioned that I needed the camera by the weekend since I needed it for a job the following week. The salesperson told me they would expedite the delivery at their charge; he called me back on the 3rd and the gear was delivered as promised on the 5th, in good condition. This is excellent service, especially considering it is the busiest time of the year for them. I would heartily recommend Canoga Camera!

Repeat Purchaser...Recently purchased a Canon EOS 5d Mk II, dealt with sales rep Jamie in early November, Item back ordered. advised the expected delivery in early December. Dec. 2nd both Jamie and Ghada called, item arrived, will ship that date, Ghada called a second time to confirm shipment (Real personalize service). Order received on Dec. 4th in good condition. Great camera and great vendor. The put meaning in the phrase "Purchase with confidence". And this review is prepared by someone who lives with 100 miles of NYC.

I have bought a lot of camera gear over the past years from many camera stores and from the internet. None come close to Canoga Camera as far as service to customers. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly and very helpful . I also found their prices very competitive and quite often lower than other stores or internet. Chris Chase, the General Manager, will go out of his way to make sure you are well taken care of. Top notch operation, great service, competitive prices.

This was my second order with Canoga Camera. The first time I ordered a camera online and received a confirmation call the next day. I was a bit irritated by the call, but was transfered to Chris, who spent a lot of time with me putting a custom package together. I had to return the filter from that package due to my ordering the wrong size and Chris went out of his way to replace it within my package deal. I will admit that my first impression of Chris on the phone was that he did not want to talk to me, but we were on the phone for more than 45 minutes that time and 30 minutes the next and he was very helpful both times. Due to my first experience I did not give a second thought about ordering a CF card from them this time. This time I did not receive a confirmation call, the order arriver on time, and the Item was new in a factory sealed package(as was the first order). My only complaint is the tracking number, I tried to look it up on the Canoga site but was told to try later, I was going to call but had to wait two hours for them to open and had received the order by then. I think it is much nicer to be linked to ups with the ups tracking number, but wont let this keep me from ordering again. I am glad I did not need to call them this time, but would not have minded the chance to say hi.
I recently purchased a Digital SLR Camera from Canoga Camera. The package for the camera changed, (items included). I called Canoga and asked if it would be possible for me to take advatage of the additional item in the package. I had to send back a form from the original packaging, but the sales team took care of me. This is a top quality company based on this and prior experiences in ordering from them. This is the third purchase from Canoga over the last year. The first worried me a bit as there was no tracking. This however has changed and the tracking is on their web page. I had to call customer service once on my first order to change an item (Manfroto Tripod). The gal on the phone made the change and the order arrived correctly. She was a bit short but the end result was what I ordered. My last purchase was a lens. I was contacted by customer service to verify the order. At no time did she try and sell me any additional items and the order shipped at the end of the day. Tracking was good and I followed it to my door.
Every order was top quality. No imports passed off to by USA warranty. I have purchased over $1000 worth of merchandise from Canoga and will continue to shop for all my camera needs there because their prices are great. And because they are on the west coast I get my items alot quicker then shoping from the east coast.

One of the best experiences buying online I have ever had. I placed my order on a Sunday, was contacted on Monday via telephone by a very friendly person to verify my order. She said that the order would ship end of day and, since I live in Southern California, I should receive it the next day. I checked the tracking of the package through their website which seems to be linked to UPS tracking, very nice. The package was delivered the next day. I ordered quite a few items as it was part of a package deal and they were all packed very securely in the box. One item was missing from the shipment (UV filter), but a quick check of the receipt showed me that it is on back order. I am very impressed with the way this company does business and heartily recommend them to anyone looking for photographic supplies. Nice job!
I am updating this review to add that the back ordered item was delivered to my door 2 days later via UPS at no extra charge. Once again, a very good company to business with.
