We purchased a mattress and had it 4 days and one side started to sink. We called and they said that we could exchange it or return it, we opted to return it. They were here the next day and I had my refund within 5 days and they apologized for the troubles. They stood behind the product and their word and made the whole thing painless!!! That is very rare these days.

Very Happy. Local stores did not have the product I wanted.
Used Sears.com and used the "Ship to Store" option which saved me shipping costs.
The product arrived at the store a day ahead of time.
I was notified and picked it up without incident.

I have recently ordered a 52" LCD TV and stand, a PS3, and various other smaller item both from my local store and at sears.com. Every purchase went perfectly - they even showed up at my door with the TV exactly when they said they would.

Called and went online to order a Panasonic Plasma 42" tv. Paid, got confirmation by email, drove 20 miles to pick up and they didn't have the TV and could not order it. Smells like a bait and switch to me. When i got home I got another email canceling my order. Bottom line do not buy unless you can see it.

Transaction went smoothly. I ordered a clock on a late Sunday night and chose store pick up. An email confirmation was sent immediately after submitting my order. The next morning, I received an email for pick up, went to the store kiosk, and someone was out with my item in less than 5 minutes.
The only negative is that I was not able to retrieve my invoice right after submitting my order because I did not create an online account at sears.com.

I ordered four items from Sears.com, 3 to be picked up at the store and 1 to be delivered to my house as it was not in stock at the store. Early the next day, I called to cancel 2 of the items that I realized I did not need.
Picking the first item up from the store was very easy and saved me on shipping costs.
The second item arrived at my house a few days later.
The funds for the two canceled items were refunded to my credit card rather quickly.
All in all, a good transaction.

I ordered a Whirlpool Duet Sport 6.7 cu. ft. Capacity Electric Dryer for next day delivery. The delivery day came and we heard nothing from sears. I have spent 2 days trying to figure out when they would finalize the order and get me a delivery date. I told them to cancel last Friday. They tried to deliver the dryer and I refused it. I'm still trying to get them to remove the charge from my credit card.

Could not reach to check order, was told by answering machine that store was closed when it was open. No 800 number to check order at the local store I choose to pick-up. Was bounced back and forth between personal and put on hold. Shipping was late, not notified when redelivery was to be, and was almost charged for redelivery.
Could not track packages. Package was open box when delivered. Ordered and waited 2 weeks after the package was supposed to be in and not notified.

I ordered a mattress, box spring, and frame from Sears on 11/13 and set shipping through their delivery service. The order stated that delivery would be in 7-10 days, which was fine as I needed it prior to Thanksgiving. The items were delivered on 11/20 and the delivery guys set up the bed too.
The only downside I saw was that when checking the order on-line there was nothing there to show the expected delivery date. I did receive a phone call the day before to tell me that the item would be delivered the next day. It wasn't until after the delivery that I noticed in the order confirmation e-mail that the actual delivery date was specified there. Only in that one location was the delivery date ever specifically mentioned.
As for prior orders with Sears, I have ordered replacement filters for in-store pickup for a Kenmore Elite fridge. In each case, I went to the customer pick-up area, swiped my credit card on the terminal, and had the item in my hands within a couple of minutes. This review was modified by its author, The Merg, on

Excellent. Ordered a dryer online Friday night. They confirmed the order immediately by email. Called the following day and gave me a delivery for the very next day, Sunday, between 4-6pm. I thought "This can't be so.. delivering on Sunday evening. Their computer delivery system must be whacked out". Nevertheless, without a lick of confidence that they would come, I got ready to accept the delivery Sunday afternoon.. I did some yard work.. and about 4:45 pm, here comes their truck with three men onboard. They greeted me, hopped down, quickly took my old appliance back to their truck, unboxed the new, wired in the required plug, added new flex pipe, and had it ready and tested 5 minutes later.
Superb.. Like they were the best vendor on the planet. This review was modified by its author, cadillakin, on

Nice store. It's clean and tidy. Very good service. The only problem is that the price is a little bit high.

Having everyone in the family loving photography, we have several cameras. A Canon G3, 2 717's, A 300D, a EOS630 film and a trusty 'ol Yashica FX3 with the sharpest 50MM f1.4 lense i've ever used.
One of the 717's had a problem with flash shots. No matter what you did, they always looked very hot in temp and the exposure was all over the place, the other 717 produces excellent flash shots. The decision to have it looked at/repaired came after shooting about 100 indoor shots at my 5 year olds dance class. After working through about 10 keepers in PS and trying to get the colors acceptable, I decided it was producing unacceptable results.
The first course of acton was to call Sony. They asked for some pictures and they to decided the 717 needed servicing. Going through the RMA process I was asked where the camera was purchased and I told them Sears. Whoa...put on the brakes, hold everything. Apparently, Sears buys the cameras from Sony without warrantee and the I Was givin an 800 number to call for Sears service. The gentleman asked if I could bring it to the local sears repair facility in Newington NH {about 10 miles away}, which I did. The 717 was dropped of on a friday and I was told a 2 week turn around, guaranteed. To my amazment, Tuesday I recieved a telephone call from the Sears service center in Memphis TN. The technition was an avid photographer and saw the issue was evident {how did it get to Memphis in 2 days and wasn't it a nice touch to have the tech call me?}. He said that he reflashed the firmware but the problem did not go away and he was going to recommend the replacement of the camera. Surprised to get a phone call on friday from the Newington facility {thats one week turnaround}, I went down to pick up the camera and was told to bring it to the store for replacement, wonderful I thought, can't beat this! A one week turn, a bright technition, being informed of the progress and a free replacement at no charge.
Arriving at the retail facility in Newington, I went directly to the electronics department with my 717, original box and the technitions notes. The salesman says "no problem at all, lets see if i have one". They did not have any 717's nor an 828. They did have a 300D for 999.00. The salesman offered to return my money, wait about a week for an 828 or he would make a deal on the 300D. Hmmm..What kind of deal I asked. He punches up some numbers and says "I'll knock 10% off the 300D, take back the memory stick {a 256 MS Pro}, and the bag giving you a price of zero for the 300D. Damm I thought, now this is a good retailer.
Leaving the store with a new 300D, 256 CF card and a new bag cost me 80 bucks. Since I had originally paid 799 for the 717, thats one hell of a deal!
Overall, this is the best experience I have had with any retailer in recent memory. Thank you Sears, you have a customer for all future electronic, appliance and houseware purchases.
