Extremely Unhappy with my purchase with this company. I purchased what was listed as a FULL version of photoshop cs4 extended on their website. There was no mention that this was an education version. It said full version and listed the full version part number. It arrived today and what did I get? I got an educational version. If I had wanted an educational version I would have purchased one myself through adobe since I am in college and can purchase an educational version myself if that was what I wanted. They charged me quite a bit more than I would have paid at Abobe as well and the software came with no documentation. I am extremely dissatisfied and have sent an email to their sales department. I purchased from them based on reviews on this site and I am very unhappy since I did not get what I paid for. I will update this on the resolution of this issue but at this moment I would NEVER do business with these people and would NEVER recommend them to anyone. I should mention also that they charged me more than double what Adobe charges for an educational version of the same software. This review was modified by its author, psychotica, on

Ordered what was puported to be a retail edition of Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard. What we received was confirmed by Adobe to be an OEM edition serial number (a less-expensive license that is only sold bundled with a computer), but was not in normal OEM packaging, which suggests that it is counterfeit. Vio Software has agreed to accept the return without penalty (only because I had not opened the package- the serial was visible through the packaging), but buyer beware... I am an IT consultant and needed to restock on software. Me being me, I figured I'd do a test - I ordered the retail Trend Micro 3 user Internet Security 2008 from Vio and other places on the web.
Vio's shipment was one of the first I received. But it was from an Australian distributor but looked retail (not a box like I am used to, but a full color glossy cardboard sleeve). But the key code sticker said 'Special'. I called Vio customer service and they defended that it was all OK, would register in the US, and work on 3 PCs (this Australian edition didn't say specifically that it would work on 3 PCs, while others true US retail products form other web sites (Buy.com) did specifically say it would install on 3 PCs).
I emailed Macomm in Australia (the name of the distributor on the packaging, along with Trend Micro AU) who said the 'special' marking on the key code means OEM, not retail, and that Macomm shouldn't be selling to companies in the US / US dealers shouldn't be buying from them and asked for and I gave them the key codes / production info they asked for to close that loophole.
Since I opened these, Vio says I can't return them. So I filed a dispute with Amex and will send Amex the email thread with Macomm saying this was OEM, not retail and that these shouldn't be sold in the US.
These were the same price as Buy.com, whose order came the same day as Vio and was genuine US retail product. As an IT consultant, I can't be buying questionable software for clients. Going forward, I won't be buying from Vio. This review was modified by its author, babaganoosh, on

I ordered retail Office 2003 product and did not receive the Certificate of Authenticity which is required in order for a license to be valid according to the manufacturer of the product. The manufacturer said I should return the "suspect product" to VioSoftware because I did not get the license which I paid for. VioSoftware would not accept my return because I had opened it. They gave me another contact to get a refund directly from the manufacturer. Now I have to wait and see if I will get my money back. If you are purchasing software that you want to be "completely" legal, especially for a business, then I would not recommend VioSoftware. The software that I received did not appear to be pirated, I just did not get all of the docs that the manufacturer requires to have a valid license to use the software. Note: 2 of the customer reps said that many of the products from the maker of Office that VioSoftware sells do not include a COA. That is a big warning sign to purchase elsewhere.

I was extremely disappointed in my VioSoftware purchasing experience.
I ordered Norton Ghost and MSDN Universal 7.0.
They screwed up 2 major things:
1) They never responded to any of my 3 e-mail requests for support, even though they advertise their ability to do e-mail support everywhere.
2) They re-typed my e-mail address wrong in 2 different spots, causing me no end of grief asking for e-mail to be resent to the proper e-mail address (which I typed in just fine when placing my order). I have no idea why they couldn’t cut and paste the e-mail address I sent, therefore avoiding the potential for human error in reading and retyping the address.
Here is my order process in detail:
November 15th:
1) Placed order for Norton Ghost and MSDN Universal 7.0
2) Immediately received confirmation e-mail that my order had been placed (note that at this point they have my correct e-mail address, I never typed the e-mail address in wrong). This e-mail includes the following relevant text:
---
*****MSDN Customers: You will receive an email from Vio Software explaining order fulfillment and tracking information within 24-48 hrs.
---
November 18th:
I receive Norton Ghost. I never received a tracking number or a notification that it shipped.
November 24th:
I have not heard anything.
I sent a very nice e-mail to shipping@viosoftware.com asking what the heck is going on with my MSDN order.
November 25th:
I have not heard anything.
I sent a very nice e-mail to sales@viosoftware.com.
No response. Ever.
November 27th:
It’s been 12 days. I have not heard anything from VioSoftware since that first e-mail on November 15th.
At this point I’m truly getting worried about what happened to my >$1000 order. I reread the initial e-mail response and realize I should have heard from them within 48 hours of my MSDN order.
I call VioSoftware and they transfer me to Stuart Robertson (apparently, the MSDN guy). He tells me he typed my e-mail address in wrong and that is why I didn’t hear from them within 48 hours. He says Microsoft is really backlogged on getting the MSDN subscriptions out right now. It’s taking up to 10 days. It’s only been 8 business days since my order and Thanksgiving is tomorrow, so I should hear from Microsoft by the middle of next week. I insist that he send the e-mail I should have gotten within 48 hours to my correct e-mail address. That e-mail contains the following relevant text:
---
- Timeline: It takes Microsoft up to 10 business days to supply you with confirmation and subscription ID numbers- this comes via e-mail!!!
+ You will need these numbers to log in to the subscriber's website.
- Timeline: It takes Microsoft 10-14 business days to send you the initial media set.
+ Note: It may take longer if Microsoft is backed up with MSDN subscription requests.
---
December 4th:
Now that Stuart has my correct e-mail address, I actually get a (mass sent) status e-mail from him regarding the MSDN backorder. I don’t have enough space to list the whole e-mail, so here is a paraphrase:
0) We apologize for Microsoft’s delay.
1) Thanksgiving is part of the reason.
2) The DVD rebate expiring end of December is part of the reason.
3) Microsoft is having significant activation problems right now.
4) We pride ourselves on first-rate service… <blah blah> … “I will release all the activation numbers, subscription ID #'s and shipping confirmations the minute that I get them.”
December 9th:
My MSDN DVDs arrive in the mail as well as my subscription ID.
I send an e-mail directly to Stuart stating the following:
---
I have not however received the following:
. A confirmation number and subscription ID numbers via e-mail from Microsoft. Can you verify that they have my correct e-mail address (you have mistyped it at least once in the past)?
. A DVD Rebate form of any type. How do I receive my $300 rebate?
---
Stuart never responds to my e-mail.
December 10th:
I get the DVD Rebate form in the mail from Microsoft.
December 15th:
I give up on VioSoftware ever responding to my requests for e-mail support. I think phone support is too inconvenient. I decide to try and use Microsoft’s e-mail support since hopefully the ordering process is far enough along that they can help me now.
Since this reseller ratings entry isn’t relevant to Microsoft, I won’t go into the gory details. Microsoft always responded to my e-mail queries within ~6 hours. They helped me change my e-mail address (Stuart had apparently given them the incorrect e-mail address as well).
Now that I can finally check my MSDN order status from Microsoft, they list the following ship dates:
11/27: Subscription ID
11/28: DVD Roms (~16)
December 17th:
Microsoft support has made everything right, I am now happy that my order is complete.

I placed an order for Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended on 04/27. I received a confirmation e-mail and tracking information the same day. I had the order in hand on 04/30.
Upon opening the package, I found that they had shipped to me Adobe Creative Suite 3.3. When I looked at the invoice, it stated that was what they shipped. The price listed was what I paid for Photoshop though. When I contacted them, I was told they were out of stock of Photoshop CS3 Extended so they shipped me Creative Suite 3.3.
The DVD case was not shrink-wrapped and contained no documentation that you would expect would be in the package as it was just the DVD case; it did not come in a retail box.
An e-mail to VioSoftware asking if the products they sell might be gray market was never answered. My client decided to hold onto the software before deciding what to do.
Upon contacting Adobe about the product, I was told that VioSoftware is known by them to sell gray market software. I was further advised that authorized resellers will have older versions purchased back from them when a new version of software comes out so there is no reason for an authorized reseller to sell an old version.

I purchased a business card scanner for my work laptop. The software that came with it indicated it would work and place te data directly into outlook or Act.
Our IT dept never upgraded the version of act that is installed, so the scanner software would not work.
I almost gave up until I visted Vio Software and there I found an affordable OEM version of Act that was compatible.
The site was very user friendly, it was easy to locate specific product, get required tech infomation and make the purchase.
My surprise and complete satisfaction came with the first follow up confirmation, and additional emails keeping me informed of my order status.
The software arrived quickly, and in good condition, with no added freight cahrges, since it easily went into a mailing envelope.
Thank you Vio Software, I am a first time customer, and now will be back to a site that I can trust, and understands how important it is to follow up with order status, and a thank you.

I highly recommend VioSoftware.com. The price was exceptional and they offered free shipping. The ease of purchase was very simple. I was completely surprised when the product delivered on a Saturday, even though the shipping was free! Great experience. I will purchase from them again in the future.

Buying from Vio Software is always easy. And the prices are usually the best I can find on the Internet. Another plus is that most items have free shipping. This is why I'm a repeat Vio Software customer.
