I bought some items from Ritz that were advertised on their home page as the current specials. Ordering was smooth, although the order confirmation showed no order # or anything. Whatever. The real horror came when I received the order confirmation email. The confirmation email had products different from what I had ordered. I immediately emailed them asking for details, but they didn't reply. I spent some anxious time over it because I did not want the other product. So i went to their "live chat" because nobody seemed to be responding over the phone. The response on live chat was extremely slow - each reply coming after over 2 minutes, that too after waiting in queue of 40 people! What a waste of time. The CSR on the other side didnt know anything of what was wrong with the order. When I finally asked him to cancel, the wrong order, he tried but couldnt. Said that the system would not let him cancel the order because it was ready for shipping!! What a mess. Online the status still showed that the order had not shipped for another whole day, but still he was unable to cancel the order. So, I emailed them to cancel the order. But after another 2 days, after I had recd the products at home, they emailed back that the item had already been shipped and delivered, so they could not cancel. When I contacted them again for a return, they made a big issue out of it and asked me to pay the return shipping and restocking fee!! What! And they claim to be giving a 100% satisfaction guarantee??!! Worst customer service I have ever faced in my live. Would never buy from them again. Buyer Beware!!

ritzcamera is not a company that has their act together or if their customer representatives are trained... they definately give all the wrong answers or if they are the correct answers shows that the company is not a company you want to do business with.  
 
Basically I order an item that was had a rebate. Unfortunately the confirmation showed that it was the wrong product. I contacted ritzcamera to correct the issue. The representative stated that the resolution would most likely be that I would get the item that I did not purchase which would disqualify it from a rebate and no longer advertised as the price I paid for it. What a waste of time. I will never buy from this shady company again.

Placed an order for 3 SanDisk Extreme III SDHC cards. I needed to add one more item that I forgot to put in the cart before checkout so i sent them an email. About 3 hours later I received the shipping confirmation for the memory cards. Later I received an email about the item I wanted to add, and they said they would ship it separately for free (the cards also shipped for free). I was very impressed with the speed that my order was processed. They also ship to APO addresses which is a HUGE PLUS for me. I will definately order from Ritzcamera.com again.

Previously, I had written a poor review on RitzCamera.com; however I am changing it today. After a few emails and a lot of persistance, I found they were willing to amend the wrong that they did to me. They post-price-matched an over-priced lens I had bought from them, even though their fine print and first emails indicated they would not. If they had not worked with me on the issue, I would have lost over $100 by buying from them instead of Amazon. However, they compromised and refunded me most of the price difference. And even despite my frustrations with them, they remained friendly and positive throughout the time. I got my lens, I got most of my over-price-money back and I would probably be willing to buy from them again.  
 
To their credit, in addition to the good customer service, they do ship free and fast and it's reliable equipment. The only thing I would advise customers is shop around for a better price first BEFORE you buy from them. But in the event that you do find a good deal on something from them, I would trust them with my business again. Unless they change to more competitive pricing like Amazon or other credible/reliable online retailers though, they will have a hard time getting my business again.

I have ordered from this merchant several times in the past, and was dissatisfied twice to the extent that I cancelled the order and got a refund. In one instance, I ordered a Nikon D300 and various other items, paid for on my credit card-which had more than sufficient funds to complete the transaction. Even though the card was good, and the customer service rep said that it was, I was given the runaround for FOUR DAYS, the excuse being that the merchant was concerned about fraud. I finally cancelled, and bought the same items from another merchant, and saved over $100 on the camera alone! I also got prompt, courteous, no bull service. The last order I placed was for an Epson Perfection flatbed scanner, which Ritz attempted to FedEx to a p.o. box, after assuring me the item could and would be shipped via the U.S. Postal Service.I found out on a Saturday morning, courtesy of a postcard from FedEx, that the scanner was currently reposing in splendid isolation at a FedEx facility some 25 miles from my home, since the facility in question is closed on the weekends. I also learned that I could either make a 50 mile round trip on Monday, if I wanted to pick it up myself, or, alternatively, I could have someone wait for it all day, since it would be coming by FedEx Ground, if I elected this option. I chose option C-cancel the order, and go somewhere else, namely the place where I ended up purchasing the Nikon D300. Imagine my delight upon discovering that I could purchase a much better scanner than what Ritz was offering for only a little more money, after the available $100 rebate! I have already placed my order, and the Epson V-750-M Pro Perfection scanner is on its way, to the post office, as promised. No more ritzcamera.com!

This is a poor excuse for a once decent company. I placed an order for a Canon 30D and got a response that I would have to call in for credit card verification. I did and someone at a call center in India who was very difficult to understand and inefficient as well eventually took the information. I received three subsequent E-mails telling me to call in -- which I did with varying waits of 5-20 minutes -- before I eventually cancelled the order and went to a dealer who could handle its business entirely in this country, with people you could communicate with and with none of the b.s. I got from Ritz. Very dissatisfied. Will not order from them again.

I dropped off my film there and it entered the black hole. They gave me back the wrong pictures and when I told them that the pictures were definitely not mine they seemed to find this funny. After a month and half of supposedly trying to find my pictures they had the nerve to tell me that it was probably my fault!  
 
I would never get my film developed there again. Their staff was completely unhelpful and never followed through on their promises of help.

I've been trying to find a store that has the new Canon G10 in stock. Ritzcamera.com (which is not affiliated with Ritz Camera stores, Beware) indicated on their website that they have the G10 in stock. I called to double check and then ordered the camera over the phone, which took 30 minutes because the operator (who seemed to be in an Indian call center) didn't speak much English. He said the order was placed before I even gave him my shipping address, and after asking me for my credit card information for the second time I asked to speak to his supervisor. His supervisor finished taking the order, stating that the camera would ship Monday (today is Sunday).  
I received a confirmation email a few hours later asking me to call to confirm. After another 20 minutes on hold I was able to confirm the order.  
 
Something tells me that it's unlikely that my camera will ship tomorrow, even though I was verbally assured by their staff...  
 
Will update shortly. Very inconvenienced as of now.

Ordered a couple of memory cards from their web site. The wrong (cheaper model) cards were shipped to me. I had no problems reaching them and providing me with free return shipping, though.

So I was told by a rep on their online helpdesk that they will honor all competitors ads. So I show them a weblink and ask to match. They say they wont match the price because they recieved such a bad rating on reselleratings.com, but I looked on the same website for Ritz' rating and they also recieved a bad rating. They beat out their competitor by 1 point. How does that make any sense???

100% Positive after a very bad feeling, not from any aspect of dealing with Ritz, but from reading the obvious flamings from a few dissatisfied customers who posted here on Reseller Ratings. I had not checked up on Ritz Camera on Reseller Ratings until after I had placed my online order. I received a second email the day after my order to call and confirm my order which I did immediately after ordering and became somewhat perplexed. I tried calling the fullfillment center in the wee hours of the morning and got no answer. It was then that I decided to check up on Ritz with Reseller Ratings, and I was extremely shocked. I called my credit card company and even though Ritz had not charged my card 48 hours after my order, I was told I could only dispute the charges afterward and could not stop them from occurring.  
 
What a waste it would have been if I had cancelled my order !!!!  
 
Very early on day three I started receiving shipping and tracking emails, and on the fourth day - a Saturday no less Fedex delivered four of the five items I had ordered and the items had been shipped from separate warehouses. One backordered item was not charged to my credit card. I received that item within nine days of my order, and once again Ritz provided excellent shipping and tracking emails.  
 
I would not hesitate to make a major purchase from RitzCamera.com again. I received excellent shipping and tracking emails after a short delay. Everything was brand new with full U.S. warranties, and by taking advantage of an advertised sale I saved a couple of hundred dollars over the big online N.Y. city stores that I have dealt with before. I am very pleased !!!!

I have to admit, after reading some of the negative feedback here, I was a little worried about the order I just placed. However, as with any business, there are customers that simply don't pay attention to things they order, and those you can't please...no matter what.  
 
Not only did Ritz save me $50 over anywhere else I could find this lens, they had it in stock (some of the "professional" sites I used in the past didn't even carry it yet). I ordered it on a Friday AM, it arrived Monday AM.  
 
Pros: Quick shipping and good service during the ordering phase. Good customer service overall. Quick emails about status of order. Good pricing.  
 
Cons: Non-affiliation with Ritz Camera Centers is somewhat misleading. There was a problem with the "order status" portion of their website, which prevented me from tracking the package until I contacted customer service again a couple of times.  
 
Overall, this was a good purchase. I'll buy from them again and would recommend them, based on my experience.
