It's important to understand that Expansys\Mobile Planet is an importer, meaning they provide electronics that are not available in the US by importing them direct from Asia where they are manufactured. Every time I order from them it is because they literally are the only domestic retailer that carries the item I'm interested in. This is important to understand, since the availability of items imported from Asia is very unpredictable. Shipments regulary take weeks to arrive, and even if there is a known shipping date, it can get held up in customs. If you have ever ordered direct from Asia on eBay you know what I'm talking about. Secondly, Mobile Planet regularly offers pre-order items, which are not guaranteed to be available by a certain date since this is entirely out of their control. They update the status on their site when there is a delay. It would be nice if they emailed you as well, but I'm sophisticated enough that I regularly check the online status. That said, I ordered a top of the line Windows Mobile device (HTC Touch Cruse) on 11/17, with esimated shipping at the end of the month. It was delayed and finally shipped in February. However, it was not avialable anywhere else at the time it arrived, so I still got it before I could have through other channels. Also, the support is great when I called - very friendly. The price was great as well ($615 vs $700+ anywhere else). They also threw in a free US adapter since it wasn't a US phone. Overall, I'm satisfied given the delays were due to the manufacturer not Mobile Planet.

I ordered an unlocked GSM phone. I called their 800 number rather than purchasing on line because I had some questions. The sales associate answered promptly and was efficient and helpful. I received a tracking number when the order was shipped and the phone arrived 2 days later in perfect condition. A very pleasant and painless ordering process. I would recommend MobilePlanet based on my experience.

Looking over the reviews, I guess I was fortunate. I'd been looking for an iGo power adapter to replace some of the many power supplies I've accumulated, and found MobilePlanet in a pricing search. They advertised the previous year's model, but at a price about 25% lower than I had seen elsewhere. I ordered it and some tips.  
 
Then, of course, I looked here and was a little worried (yep, I know, not the right order to do things). However, I received a shipping notification later the same day, and the package arrived in 3 days. They actually shipped the current model instead of last year's, too.  
 
Really good pricing and great service for this order.

I was hesitant to order from this company because of their low reseller rating, but they were the only place in the US I could find that had the Cooler Master R9-NBC-AWBS (the R9-NBC-AWAS is available everywhere, but I wanted the extra fan.)  
 
I placed my order on Tuesday, got a tracking number 10 MINUTES later, and got my cooler on Thursday, shipped ground.  
 
I haven't dealt with their customer service or anything, but my experience with them was top notch.

Very fast service. My product arrived in 2 days like they said it would. I will definately purchase from them again.

I have to rate my first shopping experience with Mobile Planet as an excellent one. I called in my order to check that all my items were in stock...as I would be going away and was afraid that I would miss shipment of any back-ordered items. A very understanding sales rep. helped confirm that my items were in stock and also helped me set up immediate shipping. My full order arrived in two days; as planned. Prices were good and hard to find items were available. I would definately shop at Mobile Planet again!

1/13: Called to find out if I could still order NextDay today. Callers wait in a cue, automation periodically reports status in the cue. Better than clueless holding but still a wait. Friendly service agent says NextDay ok for another 10 minutes. It was 10 to 3pm PST. I completed my on line order. Site still only worked right with IE (Mozilla and Safari choke) Netscape not tried. Later that evening Order Status showed Pending/Processing. I was worried from the lack of recent entries here and the rating.  
1/14: Early AM, Order Status shows shipped! With FedEx tracking number link! Product arrived shortly there after. Goods and packing ok. All in all a good transaction. Low score only for wait on hold, browser incompatibility, and slow status update.

so far, so good. ordered a copilot 7 usb and web site didn't say it was not-in-stock during order process. i don't like working without live inventory levels. i did, however, get lucky. the product arrived in stock next day, and has a valid ups tracking number one day after my initial order. not a perfect order, but not bad, either. the price was one of the lowest on the 'net, and the site was fairly easy to navigate. tracking orders seemed easy enough. over-all a thumbs-up, and will post more when order arrives.  
 
12-17-03 unit arrived, works as advertised, and my customer is happy. nice job, guys. i'll be back if i need this type of hardware again. thanks!

I have bought several items from this company for my pocketpc.  
The prices have always been lower than other on-line sites and have never had a problem with things being on backorder.  
 
When I call them to discuss whether an item is truly in stock, they are polite and honest (which is rare on the web these days).  
 
My products ALWAYS arrive as promised. It would be nice if they e-mailed you a tracking number, but I usually call and they are happy to provide it to me.  
 
I purchase a number of things off the web and I have to say that they are very consistent.  
 
They will continue to get my business as a result and I highly recommend them!  

I have to say I was a little worried about ordering from mobile planet when I read some of the reviews, but I have to say I had a great experience. the phone I ordered came in a timely manor, their customer service was easy to work with and very friendly. The phone I ordered was an EU phone and had EU plug in's. Mobile planet included a US adaptor at no charge with my order. I also ordered a case which they did not have in stock but are scheduled to get it in next week. I will see if it is timely. At this oint I would recommend Mobile Planet.

MobilePlanet has a problem with PayPal verification, as in they do not trust verified PayPal accounts. In order to purchase from them with PayPal, you must re-verify with MobilePlanet.  
 
I ordered Sennheiser PXC 450 Headphones on September 19, 2007, at a remarkably good price. A note said the item would ship when MobilePlanet received inventory. Over 45 days later, and they have not yet received any inventory to ship me. I will follow-up when either I cancel my order or actually receive the headphones. For now, they get a bad rating from me.  
 
UPDATE:  
The headphones were shipped in late October, over 60 days from purchase date.

Site does not cater too well with PayPal. Customer Service required to fax more information whereas PayPal account is VERIFIED and good standing. Takes too much hustle to go back and forth between PayPal and customer service in order to finalize the order. It defeats the purpose of having financial information verified by PayPal and using the service as a secure method of payment

I ordered a pink IPOD mini from this store. I got a confirmation number and the order seemed to go through. 4 days later I could still not see the status of my order and my credit card was not charged. After several tries and a 10 minute wait on hold, I finally managed to get through to a customer rep. It turned out that they ran out of pink IPODs. She was polite and cancelled my order right away after I requested it. I wonder how long my order would have been just sitting there without any communication on their part if I had not called. All in all, I would not order from this store again.

Package arrived on time but contained the wrong item despite the invoice specifying the right model #. Arranged RMA and was told the replacement item would ship overnight delivery. Received an email saying the item had shipped 2-day delivery. Called them again and they blamed shipping for not following instructions.I cancelled the order outright not wanting to chance another mistake.

I had purchased a Htc touch dual from mobile planet end of dec 07. After couple of weeks the charger port was not working properly. I called Mobile planet they said to return the phone to bloomington,IL, I did in feb 08. I was told by mobile planet that it would take 6 weeks to reapair. After 8 weeks no answer, i called them up and customer service returns amanda mailed me back saying it is on the way back after repair. After a week I was told the charging port was damaged by user and need to pay$90 for repairs. I filed with credit card to return my payment because the phone was defective. After 4 more weeks I called returns for status on phone, I was told it was scraped by htc because I did not make the payment in a timely maner. How can they scrap a phone which I payed for? I was so mad the returs manager logan chandle is a very rude man he had no regrets in damaging my phone. I asked who is top of you, he said he is the ultimate and could not do anything. This is big frad company I will defend my case in the court of law. I had one yr warranty on this phone and they have no rights to destroy my precious phone. They could not replace the phone which i bought for hard earned money. Watch this site people!!! they are fraud.
