Absolutely abysmal tracking system on their site...and incredibly slow. Their email shipping notification is inconsistent with their website tracking system is inconsistent with their telephone customer service. On the website it claims that tracking info is provided 24 hours after email notification...and I'm still waiting for mine 6 days later!! I'm not alone - went to the Lenovo user forums to complain and I posted mine on PAGE 64 of tracking complaints. Lenovo ships computers from China, so be prepared to wait for customs clearance too (you may be saying to yourself, "yeah so, it's worth the wait for a Lenovo..." - SERIOUSLY consider buying a prepackaged computer from a second vendor (make it Lenovo, fine).

HORRIBLE! My first ship date was 01/05/09. That day came, checked the status and ship date was changed to 01/19/09. Checked status on January 18th and ship date changed to 02/05/09. I just couldn't wait any longer so I called to cancel order. I was told it would take 24-28 hours to cancel it, and that the company would NOT send me a confirmation of the cancellation, nor would they give me a cancellation number. I cancelled my credit card because I didn't want them to charge me for an order that I had cancelled (Canon Pixma MX850 printer). Well, here it is 5 days later and I look at the website and see they have shipped the printer today! I'll have to call the idiots tomorrow, and hope that I am home when the printer arrives so that I can refuse delivery. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Horrible company will never purchase from them again, no email telling me the laptop would be delayed in shipment, I received it 5 days after Christmas, and tried to return it unopened, and they are charging me a 15% restocking fee ($105)  
complete BS. Will never buy again worst company ever.

Slower than snails order fulfillment. Place order on 12/1, ship date of 12/10 assigned, no email sent that the package has shipped. I also placed an order with Lexmark at the same time, product shipped the next day, email sent with tracking number. This is the first time I've ordered directly from Lenovo, and probably my last. This is just not competitive.

I am a webhost systems admin, I manage over 750 web servers for a living. I ordered a Lenovo Y730 model notebook direct from their website a few hours ago so I will have to post my customer care experience later. For now, I wanted to say, after shopping for 3 weeks from all the other companies (dell.com, hp.com, gateway.com, toshiba.com, usa.asus.com, acer.com, alienware.com, and a few custom laptop building websites) I found the most feature packed laptop I have ever seen. I went again to the other companies mentioned to use their custom configuration pages to try and re-create what the Y730 offers, only to find that the price went WAY OVER $3000 and I was still missing 10+ features that I get with the Y730 AND I took the 3 year warranty with the 3 year accidental damage coverage and still paid under $1200 for a notebook that offers features that the "Big Brands" cannot for ANY price. I showed the specs to fellow admins, and technicians and 4 were convinced the specifications could not be matched, mainly because no one offers them, and IF they did it would ring up a bill of well over $10,000 to get the same. I have owned Dell laptops, HP/Compaq, I have serviced hardware of all of the companies I mentioned, and I have setup thousands of computer systems from Desktops to Rack mounted web servers: I must say, you won't find ANY other company with this offer.

Customer Service: 8/10  
Product Support: 10/10

Customer Service: 8/10 Very helpful, but it seems they are still in development since the buyout. I won't hold that against ANY company though.  
 
Product Support: 10/10 at first I thought I would have an issue with getting patches and BIOS updates from their support team. I reported an issue with the "sound" played during boot from the BIOS how there was no option to reduce or disable the sound for quiet environments, the next day they had an updated BIOS for me posted on their website which they also cleaned up a bit, I was TOTALLY blown away a this response. I tried contacting Dell for support on my older D520 which had been shocking me where the docking pad is underneath and got told to go away by 5 different "technicians" who didn't seem to know any technical terms. VERY pleased with Lenovo support :)  
 
I will Definitely be buying from Lenovo again.

Lenovo has the worst customer care ever. I ordered a machine a month ago. Two weeks into no change in my order status I started calling them. They gave me crap about this and that and the back-to-school season. After about call 3 i talked to the manager who then was so kind to inform me that they are out of these machines all together. For days after he told me this, one could buy this machine on the Lenovo's website. I really wanted a Lenovo, so agreed to go with another machine, and wanted to get the U 330. the sales rep knew nothing of the characteristics of the machines available on the website, and was telling me completely outrageous things like "this model comes without a camera" when Lenovo advertised face recognition system as the special feature of every variation of the U model. then the sales rep flat out told me this machine will not ship on time. Fine, I agreed to get the SL series that have just come out. The new order was supposed to ship in 1-2 weeks. Two weeks past, the order has not shipped, and the shipping date was postponed another 10 days. I have to travel for 2 months in a week, so i went with Vaio SZ series, and don't regret. Mine is not the only horror story about Lenovo customer care. Try getting something from them, and you will have one of your own :)

Ordered a simple laptop stand. In stock. $70 item. Email confirm. Wait. Wait. Wait. No delivery. Called Lenovo. Many different stories. Said a problem was with shiping address different than billing address, and to call credit card. I did and called back. Got a different story. They could NOT tell me if the order was on hold, or if the authorization was fixed and approved. Basically told to shut up and WAIT. Could not advise me at all on the expected ship date. I order lots of stuff on-line with this credit card. NEVER a problem. Lenovo is the absolute WORST on-line vendor I have EVER seen. Really bad. I run a small company, and I was considering some new Laptops. Think pads get good reviews, but not so good to ever put up with this ridiculous company. They are certainly NO IBM! I HATE Lenovo. Hate, Hate, Hate.

I ordered an Ideapad Y710 from them recently. I wasn't entirely sure if it was a good idea because of how new this line of laptops is and I was able to find few reviews online. I'm glad I did though, the laptop has performed amazingly so far. When placing my order, the Lenovo customer chat service was very helpful in answering my questions (though some of their representatives themselves didn't know all the answers because the are not yet familiar with the Ideapad line). I selected ground shipping for my order, and they actually got it to me about 5 days earlier than they predicted. I am very satisfied with my Lenovo experience and I would definitely buy from them again.

Ordered a 15" wide screen Thinkpad T61. Was able to get another 5% off on the laptop from calling customer service. Shipping status said the laptop would arrive on the 20th, yet it shipped using 2 day UPS (payed for free ground shipping) and arrived on the 13th (would have arrived on the 10th if I was there to receive the package from UPS). So far the laptops works beautifully and seems sturdy. Will keep Lenovo in mind for laptop purchases in the future.

Ordered a Thinkpad from Lenovo on March 11, said ships in 1-2 weeks. Order went into processing and shipped three days later.. It fairly flew across the world, and arrived at my door March 17.  
 
Spectacular service and great coupons to purchase with. The computer booted right up.. no errors. I notice the other bad reviews but my experience was all good.

I ordered my R60 Laptop ($1200+) April 28, 2007 and a couple weeks later found out the order would be delayed a couple weeks. No problem i'll wait. So then a couple weeks later i got another delay notice. This time i call customer service to complain, i demand a free upgrade or discount or else i will cancel the order. I was transferred to a supervisor and I was told that i would get a 10% discount if after i receive my computer everything is OK and she gave me her personal contact number!  
 
I finally receive the laptop on June 15. The box is in good condition, so far so good, open the box, everything seems great, no damage. So i fire it up and it is LOADED with pre-installed JUNK software. After 3 hours of clean-up it is finally ready to test. It runs all my games at reasonable graphics settings, no errors or blue screen of deaths! YAY!  
 
I call customer service to get my 10% discount and 2 weeks later i get a $123 credit!  
 
It's now Jan 2008 and it's still running smooth as i am typing this.

Ordered notebook from website. Arrived in 9 days, exactly as ordered. Excellent machine, good price. No delays or questions asked about order. Minor setup problem (my fault). Tech support in Atlanta Georgia was friendly, polite and extremely helpful in resolving the problem. An all around positive experience.

Lenovo is bullshit. I ordered a laptop from website, they postpone shipment date without any email notification.  
I think they are just doing a very bad trick. They post some very good deal, then when you ordered, they just push the ship date again and again. Since you thought you have ordered this one, you will ignore the other deal from other seller, like Dell, Toshiba, and so on. But finally, they just told you the model is discontinued. Then you lost all the deal.  
Very bad merchant. Never bought from them.
