I ordered a Segate Hard drive from comp-recycle. Like erery other person that ordered from them I got screwed. It was DOA. No valid Phone nor a valid email address. 100 percent scam. Dont order anything from carrolton TX. Not of any kind untill that community steps up and deals with crime. nearby business have been contacted (like ones in the same business in the same building) none will even acknowledge you. There is a pattern of behavior down there.

I received wrong power adapter on 4/11/03 and it did not have power cord. Tested power adapter that was received and found it DOA. Tried to contact COMP-RECYCLE via email address on website and bounced back. Email to 'comp@comp-recycle.com' appeared to go through but have not recieve response. Next day mailman tried to deliver another package from them for the samme amount, which I refused. I will be filing a complain with US Postal Service Inspectors, for all the good it may do. I got off cheap this time but I think these people need to be shut down and put in jail for fraud via the US Postal Service and probally for tax evasion as the COD money orders do not leave a clear trail, same as cash.

After reading all the problems about Comp-Recyclers, I wanted to get a message posted to others about this company fast so they do not loose their hard earned money.

I ordered 2 hard drives from their web site March 11, 2003. The drives arrived in 3 days. Upon testing them, they were both non-functional DOA.

Their contact email address always bounces back as being full and they do not respond to emails sent via their order form or questions address'.

Don't be like me and wish you had known about comp-recycles business practices. If you want fast and timely delivery of quality junk, by all means order from them!!!

This is the exact text of what was emailed to me, I X'd out my personal info.

Thank you for your order.
Your total with USPS Priority COD shipping is $70.75 Please have a U.S. Postal Money Order payable to "Comp-Recycle"
ready for the Mailman when he delivers the package.
Shipping tomorrow.
Thanks

I recently purchased 8 of the 10-pack of PCTel Modems from Comp-Recycle store and and 2 days later, while waiting for the modems to arrive, I ordered some Duron Processors from them. Once I received the modems, out of the 80 modems that I received, the first 30 of them I tested yielded 2 good ones. I did not feel that it would be worth while to test the remaining modems, so I boxed them back up and returned them to Comp-Recycle. The next day the processors came in and I refused them because I did not want to waste more money on NON-Working Items. We paid for the Modems by Money Order and once we shipped the modems back, the package came back to us stamped "NO SUCH ADDRESS". Now, as I said, I refused the Package of Processors, meaning they went back to Comp-Recycle, however since I HADNT paid for those, they DIDN'T come back. Why would the modems come back to me and the processors not? Because COMP-RECYCLE already has my money for the modems but not the processors.
There is "NO WAY" to get in touch with these people using the information on the website.
Their warranty policy is listed on their website and it says that all used/rebuilt parts have 90 day warranty unless advertised "AS-IS". No refunds after 30 days. Seems to me that if you cant get in touch with anyone at the company then you have no recourse on any return items.

They managed to accept the processors back because we hadnt paid for them. The Processors might have worked but I was not willing to waste money to find out.

The USPS states that they need a "pattern of activity suggesting a potential scheme to defraud" before they will investigate. Please go right now to https://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud/MailFraudComplaint.htm and take a minute to help them reach their quota. The FTC has an online form at https://rn.ftc.gov/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 that is similar. Comp-Recycle is counting on you not doing this. Also, since he gets paid with Postal Money Orders, do you think he's paying taxes? The IRS says "If you believe someone is violating federal tax laws, you should contact the IRS at 1-800-829-0433, the Criminal Investigation Hotline. If you prefer, you may provide your information in writing to the Criminal Investigation Branch at the service center where you file your return. Refer to your tax package for the address of your service center. Although you are not required to identify yourself, it is helpful to do so. Your identity will be kept confidential. You may also be entitled to a reward." Remember how they finally put Al Capone away!

I have one better. The owner, Allen Wagonburg accepted a few of my company checks. Although it is not his prefferred method of payment, the post office states that he cannot accept just a money order or cash.

He printed his OWN checks with Quicken, then used MY bank account and company name, He then signed the checks with a bogus name. He made one payable to the POSTMASTER and one to UPS.

This my friends is check fraud. I have a detective with the Plano Texas Police department working on this as we speak.
He will not be sued by me...(not yet). But he will be going to jail.

If he has defrauded you, just send me an email. I will forward that to the detective working the case. Screw the USPS inspector!! I have had a case pending with them for weeks!!! This is no longer a civil matter. It is criminal.

ATTENTION ALL CONSUMERS WHO HAVE BEEN DEFRAUDED BY COMP-RECYCLE WITHIN THE PAST THIRTY (30) YEARS: As of 2/14/03, I have launched an investigation through the United States Postal Inspection Service into possible mail fraud charges against Comp-Recycle.com . If you have placed an order through Comp-Recycle.com within the past thirty (30) years, your assistance would be invaluable to the prospects of securing a conviction. I have set up an e-mail account through mail.com for the purposes of collecting information on any and all dealings with Comp-Recycle.com in which consumers (like myself) have recieved defective merchandise through the United States mail, and have received no recourse to any form of compensation. All that is needed from each of you is to write an e-mail to compfraud@mail.com with: A) your contact information, including name, address, telephone number(s), and e-mail address(es), and B) a brief declaration of your FRAUDULENT experience as a Comp-Recycle.com consumer. The password of this mail.com account will be communicated to the agent in charge, who will be in contact with those on the list whose statements would be most helpful to the investigation. SPECIAL NOTICE: Your contact information WILL NOT BE DISTRIBUTED OTHER THAN TO THE AGENT(S) IN CHARGE OF THE INVESTIGATION! I have chosen this method for several reasons: 1) I am trying to assist the investigating agent(s) by expediting the data collection, and massing it into one easily referenced repository. One dedicated disposable e-mail address means that they don't have to sift through their personal mail to gather all the messages pertinent to the investigation. 2) I don't want to have to sift through MY personal e-mail and extract every message by piecemeal to forward it on- I don't have the time, and I'd run the risk of missing some. 3) "shelf life" on the Internet is indefinite. I don't want to recieve e-mails about this to my personal e-mail account years after the case has been closed.

Judging by what I've read, for whatever reasons, this kind of activity has been happening for YEARS. Together, we may finally be able to put an end to it for good. Send your statements and contact info ONLY to compfraud@mail.com . I will field questions at compques@mail.com . DO NOT SEND STATEMENTS to compques@mail.com as they will not be included with the others. DO NOT SEND QUESTIONS to compfraud@mail.com as they will not be answered, and will just clutter up the statements being collected.

I was screwed by this company way back in 1996 (not 2002 - the site only lets me pick 2002) and I filed a complaint with the BBB. They still owe me $286 for a product that was never sent, even with repeated phone calls and letters - nothing. I was given bogus tracking numbers and a different story each time I tried to get in contact with them.

This was back in the days of Computer Shopper rather then pricewatch.com. I also complained to the postmaster general about mail fraud at that time as well. Recently I was screwed by a different vendor GameVE.com who has not refunded me for a RMA they got 2 weeks ago, which brought me here.

My e-mail address is ddevernoe@yahoo.com please e-mail me and I will get what documentation I still have on the purchase - including trace and routing info from my check being deposited. I think I may have to take a road trip from Florida - through texas and pay this guy a visit on my way to GameVE in cali. Its not the money (just shy of $600 between the two) it's the principal - and they must pay. I may have surpassed the statute of limitations on this however may again pursue this vendor. I will look for the old info (which I have saved) when I get home.

Anyways AVOID THIS VENDOR LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

The SOLE OWNER of this scam is Allen Wagonburg, in Plano Texas. His HOME phone is 972-208-0371.
If you do not care to drive to Texas, call the Carolton police dept. at (972) 466-3290. Ask to speak with detective Mike Halloway. He is heading the investigation.

I ordered a 8x DVD Player, 30 Gig Hard Drive & a 60 Gig Hard Drive from Comp-Recycle. When they arrived via C.O.D., the 30 gig hard drive worked for about 3 days. The 60gig hard drive was actually a 76.8 gig drive, it did not work at all and the 8x DVD Player works as a cdrom drive only. I sent numerous emails to them with no response. On a previous order the 900mhz Athlon CPU's were DOA. I have two friends who items that were ordered from this company where inoperable when they arrived. This company refuses to respone to emails. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY BY ALL MEANS

I wish I would have came here before purchasing from these crooks. My order was a $143 order. Two 60 gig hard drives, a 32 meg video card, and two Diamond Home Networking Cards. First off, the hard drives I received were one 40 gig and one 80 gig. They must think that since they added up to 120 that was fine. That must mean that if a person orders a 512 meg DIMM, they can ship four 128's. Terrible business ethics. The video card was right and the network cards were right. BUT, NOTHING worked. The 80 gig drive made the infamous Western Digital click-click noise and the 40 would not even spin up. The video card is dead and the network cards are dead. As I have just started this process, I guess I will start with the Plano Police Department. I have probably lost three customers due to these thiefs and I will not take this lightly. Has anybody gotten results in their pursuit for justice? If so, what route did you take? Mail me through here if you have been compensated for their fraudulent activities.
