Dealing with Asus has been pure hell, no other way to describe it. I bought a motherboard in the summer of 2007 but did not need it and left it alone in the box for a few months. When I attempted to used the motherboard it would short out after 10 seconds of booting. I called Asus and they told me they could not replace the Mobo they would have to prepare it. They said this would take 10 Business days. As of now it has been 12 business days and they have absolutely NO information on what is being done to fix the motherboard. The RMA department is unprofessional and frankly quite rude. I have never seen customer service so deplorable.

I purchased an ASUS G1 notebook from Newegg.com. Newegg is a very fine company. Unfortunately, ASUS is not. I had the power supply on the notebook motherboard burn out. I called ASUS, got an RMA, Fedex'd the notebook to California for repair. Two weeks later I got the notebook back. Nothing at all was done to the laptop!! ASUS said they fixed the computer and gave me a new battery. The battery was the same one I sent in for repair (Same serial number) Also, the charge state of the battery was the same as when I sent it in. The laptop would still not charge either. So, for two wasted weeks of my time, all I got back was the same broken notebook.
I immediately sent in my notebook again for repair. ASUS promised me they would expedite it but after they got my notebook, it is just sitting there and I get lip service when I call their repair department. I get the same three people every time so I know this is a small amateur operation. NO MORE ASUS FOR ME. I really hate Dell but their customer service was better (if you can believe that). Worst experience so far with any customer service. Customer service reps were unfriendly and unhelpful, even supervisors accomplished nothing. RMA process was extremely slow and unproductive.

Absolute rubbish,
Computer broke after 3 months then again a couple of weeks after it was returned fixed. Each time it takes more than a week and a half for repair. Customer Service is terrible and there is no link between then people who fix the computer and the people you send an email to.
Not buying from these guy again.

Purchased a white box from Computergeeks.com, shipped direct from ASUS. Box arrived looking OK, but inside box the computer was defective, with too much damage to use. Called computergeeks and they said, since it was shipped from ASUS, they must RMA. ASUS said computergeeks is responsible. Regardless, ASUS made it and it was defective and they treated the customer, me, like !@@##%. I told them I was a reseller and asked to speak to a supervisor if they want me to continue buying from them, and the clerk refused to put supervisor on line. Anyway, warning, do business with companies that backup their products with quality service, not ASUS.

I tried to contact ASUS about a problem with the P4G8X Deluxe Mother Board that is installed in my PC. I called customer support, someone told me that they were very busy and that someone would call me back, I gave him my phone number but they never called back. I then logged a trouble report via their email support, it took 4 days before I finally got a response back. This is not good customer service, I don't think I will be dealing with this company in the future.

Here's an update and by the way ynot2k.com I have plenty of backup and to address your assumptions these were not built-on barebones these were the S1300N fully assembled by ASUS and supplied via ABSPC.
Like I said just about every RMA'd laptop has had to be sent back to the factory for major component replacements. I've been in IT for well over a decade and have never seen a worse laptop coupled with terrible support and turnaround FROM THE FACTORY, ASUS.
This week I sent back 4 more laptops - totally dead and just RMA'd a fifth totally dead. I have 12 more in the field three of which will need to go back in for various issues 2 have failed onboard modems and one a dead RJ45 port and wireless. I'll say it again these systems are garbage, I have the back up, documentation and about 20 users that have had to suffer through repeated failures.
I used to swear by ASUS until I had to deal with these substandard laptops. Fortunately we are quickly replacing them. This review was modified by its author, -=rex=-, on

I can't believe the other posts in here. Wait, yes I can!
I have received no less than INFERIOR service from ASUS.
I purchased an A8V that fried (3), yes, THREE high-end graphics cards...turns out it was a dodgy resistor on the motherboard.
When inquiring about ASUS replacing the cards, they tell me "we will not replace any non ASUS products" and a pathetic 'sorry about your luck' email.
I am no longer an ASUS fan. Hey, seems Abit and MSI have good boards competing with ASUS... hmmm...
edit: after reading what I just said, I'd like to be able to give them a score of LESS than 0 or Poor, but I can't, so NEGATIVE 1000 & DEMERIT!!!! This review was modified by its author, Psychlone, on
