I purchased a G2Sg laptop from NewEgg. I noticed shortly after receiving it that the monitor had a few stuck and one dead pixel. Called Asus and they emailed me an RMA and I shipped it off. Exactly one week later I had the laptop back with a brand new monitor at no cost to myself. Some companies give you crap about the industry standard when it comes to problematic pixels, but after speaking with a few agents it was easy to get things taken care of. Goes without saying I am very pleased with Asus's laptop and their customer service. It is very easy to get someone on the phone to speak with, no messy automated menu's and most of the agents speak english well. Will continue to purchase Asus products. Thanks guys.

I recently returned a z33a(m5a) subnotebook to Asus for minor repair--there was a subtle dull spot on the LCD panel when viewed off-angle, possibly a warp or a backlight irregularity. I called to describe the problem, then they called me back the same day to issue an RMA. I was a little worried they would not call back--it would have been better if they had given me the RMA during the initial call, but it turned out OK.

I shipped the notebook to ASUS. They replaced the entire LCD assembly (including the cover and bezel!), and shipped it back *overnight* the day after they received it! That's great service--a lot of manufacturers would not even have fixed the screen, since the flaw was minor and the display still worked.

Now that the screen is fixed, the computer is perfect--the m5 series really has the fastest, slickest, lightest, and best-designed notebooks in this form factor. If Asus could provide everyone with the type of service they gave me, then they could substantially increase their market share and brand recognition in the States. The products are unique, but unfortunately some of the whitebook integrators/resellers can be shady and Asus service has been spotty in the past.

If you get service from a reputable dealer/integrator, the Asus products are hard to beat. I hope that Asus has also started to upgrade its service for direct buyers like myself, so that the company can receive more positive reviews like this one--they owe it to their products.

In reply to the poster below. I think you are making some acusations with no backup. I dont really know who you are. I ve been selling asus product for over 2 years now. We switched completely to asus line some years ago. Though I cant say they are perfect i can say with full confidence that what you got was the fault of your dealer and what they integrated into the product. Asus makes barebones and they make laptops. I am not here to say your wrong i just think you should recant/revise your statement. Asus policy for their barebones is that the dealer performs service. Ofcourse they will step in in case the dealer is incapable of that. Sounds like your dealer did a number on you as i am sure these were their "built on asus" barebones line that you purchased. Leave this comment for your dealer. Asus has nothing to do with your dealers inability to properly test and integrate these laptops for you. I personally am a dealer as well as a client. Everyone here who is unhappy should seek help from your dealer. Same with the motherboards line. The only thing separating asus from the rest is better quality and better support. If you buy parts be prepared to use the manufacturers support. If you buy from a reputable dealer do the background check then make your decision.

Again
I dont know what you have or what you bought. S1300 is not a model i am familiar with. Infact i have never seen one and i have seen them all if they were ever in the states in the past 2 years. I belive you mean the s5n 12" beige notebook? If so then yes it is an asus product however i can say with fair certainty that it is a not so distant relative of the m5n batrebone which i own my self. Again i dont know the nbature of the problems you are having with them but the m5n was a very successful model with very very little rma. Biggest problem was the fan which was noise which was also addressed by dealers sometime later after people complained. I was truthfull in my reply which basically says your making false assumptions about their entire product line. Perhaps you had some bad notebooks shipped to you but you cant write off their entire product line becuase you got some bad product. You swear they have crap product and i swear by their product. WHo is right? I guess its the person that remains open minded and rational. As for slow turn around. I cant comment on their motherboard division as they really are slow to rma just like any other manufacturer but i deal with their notebook division every single day as a dealer and broker for end users. Their average turn around is 2 business days from receipt and they air back everything. How you come to the conclusion that their rma is slow escapes me but really nothing you have stated adds up to what i have come to learn over the years and the feedback i receive. You can further contact me by visiting the website or on asusforum.com Though i am not your vendor and do not warranty prebuilt asus product i can certainly help this very unlikely and uncommon situation.

I'm the co-owner of a computer sales and servicing shop in Minot, ND. Every system we build uses an ASUS motherboard, except when the customer specifies another brand. We've sold hundreds of systems and have had few go bad. But, I must admit that ASUS has bad customer service. We are able to get RMA numbers quickly, BUT, the fact that they do not have an Advanced RMA option is rediculous. My customers do NOT want to wait 2+ weeks of downtime waiting for their board to come back. Intel has a GREAT RMA process, especially for Resellers/IPD members. I love ASUS for their products, but hate them for their RMA procedures. If they could just change that area of their business, they would definately be untouchable in my opinion.

I bought another board from them last August. I have neer had anything but ASUS boards, and I am on my fourth one. I had a dual processor slot 1 board, which I put in a server. I then had a CUV4X which went bad, and was replaced with a CUV4X-E (still working, along with the server board!). My most recent board from them is my A7M266. The board was the fastest around when it was released and is very stable. I have had my Athlon 1.4GHz up to 1.57GHz without a problem (that's with stock core voltages, RAM voltages, and a ram CAS latency of 2, using the FSB to overclock) Yes, ASUS boards are more expensive than most, but they are high quality boards with a ton of features, and they are well worth the premium.

I bought the ASUS dual XEON PC-DL deluxe motherboard at www.compu-terra.com
This store does not give any service and totally rely on the service delivered by ASUS.

Asus helped me with the defective (DOA) motherboard.
They are very hard to get on the telephone and do not have a toll free number.
Why do you not have a toll free number and also a long waiting line on the phone? So you are using your customers and personnel at the same time?

My telephone bill was kind of high last month. I had to wait 40 minutes in one of the calls to get connected. Later I found out that I could also call the server-board department since I had a dual processor MB. I was lucky, since this department was much better and faster. Also email seems to work as soon as you have received one. In this department everything was positive. The Motherboard was replaced in one day, No extra costs involved. Great company, great knowledge and service but need to improve communication and reach-ability especially on the normal helpdesk department.

I tried to contact ASUS about a problem with the P4G8X Deluxe Mother Board that is installed in my PC. I called customer support, someone told me that they were very busy and that someone would call me back, I gave him my phone number but they never called back. I then logged a trouble report via their email support, it took 4 days before I finally got a response back. This is not good customer service, I don't think I will be dealing with this company in the future.

I bought an ASUS A7N8X-X from another reseller, but I called ASUS tech. support for help troubleshooting boot-up. I called them, long distance, several times only to be put on hold for no less than 15 minutes each time. In the end, they got my phone number and name and said they would call me back everytime, but they never did (it's three days later now). I finally figured out the problem (set the main hard drive jumper to CS instead of MASTER), and they never helped. Expect to wait a long time (i.e., days) for technical support from these guys.

I bought a motherboard from them which turned out to have many known issues. I have not been able to get them to address my issues. I have installed a BIOS update for the crappy ethernet connection, which wasn't available until last month. It still didn't work until I got a set of new drivers for it from nVidia. Then ASUS updated the chipset drivers for this board and it's still very unreliable.

Their support forums have no real ASUS staff on them, just users who got promoted to moderator status for doing enough of ASUS's work (supporting people, troubleshooting), which ASUS never does.

I posted this on newegg.com, where I bought the motherboard. They quickly gave me a reference number, within 1 day, for my problem to be solved. I have submitted multiple tickets with paragraphs of technical data and they are not replying. Now I am here, and back on newegg, trying to expose the lies they are telling by pretending to help me. They are ignoring me completely and my computer is incredibly unreliable.

But they love to act like they are helping people who post issues on newegg.com. They aren't really helping them. I have an issue number they gave to me that way and nothing will happen when I submit.

No matter what happens with your product, your order, or your money, your relationship with ASUS will END once they get your money. Period.

This is the 2nd ASUS motherboard I have owned. While the product works, it is great. If you have the technical knowledge to configure and troubleshoot small issues, this product is great.
The minute you need ANY kind of warranty/manufacturer support, give up all hope and enter the hell that is ASUS warranty/customer service.
1 - No 1800#, so get ready to burn your cell phone minutes.
2 - They will blame your CPU, memory, hard drives, EVERYTHING, before they issue and RMA. I am an IT professional and had to get very specific about ALL the tests and parts I swapped before they were willing to admit it was the motherboard.
I don't think the majority of people would have access to all these spare parts available, so my guess is that your are SOL.
3 - They will charge you the full amount of the motherboard (fair) and keep $10 (WTF?) if you want the replacement motherboard cross-shipped.
4 - The first motherboard I had (I don't remember the model) had to be RMAd once and the replacement didn't work.
5 - This last motherboard (and I mean LAST)is and M2N SLI Deluxe had to be RMAd twice. Both times the replacement didn't work at all.
6 - Every single time I had to argue to no end for them to pay the shipping for sending their defective replacement back.

SO, there you go. That's my story. I am fed up and will never build another PC with any of their products or recommend this brand to anyone.

I bought a Asus R1F tablet PC almost 2 yrs ago, it came with 2 yr warranty. Every since i bought it, the problems started, initially it was due to the default installed programs that would cause to make the laptop unstable, so customer service reps asked me to uninstall programs pre installed. After that my the laptop screen kept turning off at 1/2 battery life and had to restart the computer. This became really annoying so i send it in last year in may. They reformatted the HDD and send the computer back in 2 weeks. this happened again after 2 weeks once i started using the the tablet daily. so again i sent it in to repair it and they once again reformatted the HDD and send it back. and the problem duplicated it self. The tablet was sent in total of 4 times for the same issue. Basically Asus never fixed this issue but was waiting for my warranty to run out. Now they say i have to replace the motherboard and i have to pay for it since its out of warranty. They could have replaced the mother board 6 months ago when the tablet was first sent it. but since the warranty just expired, it dawned on them that the issue is motherboard.

I DO NOT recommend YOU BUY any asus products. When i came to this site, realized its just not me but 80% of the people are dissatisfied with asus.

DO NOT BUY ASUS.

Talk about the absolute worst company to be on the face of planet earth. Asus is terrible. This is my second board I have purchased in about 4 years. My newest has been the worst ever. Started with a bad ethernet port. So I sent it back to them for an RMA. 5 weeks later I get the same board back in the exact same condition. So I complain like any customer would and they get me to their high priority custom list with the advanced replacement. They are supposed to notify me when they get my paperwork the same day. I did some checking around and here 4 days later I have yet to hear from them. Some high priority their customers are. I would highly recommend staying away from asus until they get their act together (which wont be soon). This company clearly does not care about the customer one damn bit!!!!

I have bought many ASUS motherboards and just got my first experience having to send one in for repair. They did absolutely nothing to fix the board (board still dead) and sent it back in the same non-working condition with no explanation as to what they checked, zip! I had to contact them just to find out. Going on four weeks now dealing with their customer service (or lack of) people that have the attitude as they don't give a %#*&. I finally gave up after hours of phone calls and repeated ball dropping on their end. I will not purchase another ASUS motherboard again. Seriously! You will get better service from the Dell Dude in India (and that's not saying much).

To be fair, I did not buy from ASUS.com website. I buy from Newegg, Amazon and other vendors that carrying ASUS. I just wanted everyone to know my experience in dealing with their customer service and technical support people. I give them the lowest rating that there is.

Dealing with Asus has been pure hell, no other way to describe it. I bought a motherboard in the summer of 2007 but did not need it and left it alone in the box for a few months. When I attempted to used the motherboard it would short out after 10 seconds of booting. I called Asus and they told me they could not replace the Mobo they would have to prepare it. They said this would take 10 Business days. As of now it has been 12 business days and they have absolutely NO information on what is being done to fix the motherboard. The RMA department is unprofessional and frankly quite rude. I have never seen customer service so deplorable.

I bought a m2r32-mvp motherboard made by asus and warrantied for 3 years. It made it 9 months before the pci-e slot went out. I have for 2 weeks been emailing the rma dept and calling them and as of yet no replies to email or phone messages. This company has the worst customer service i have ever seen. Beware if you ever buy a asus product that you are in reality getting no warranty as they wont answer rma emails or the phone for rma.
