I think Sharper Image has the absolute worse customer service on the planet. I've had a whole string of episodes which make wonder why I even patronize them. I no longer do by the way. My last incidence was a doozy. I went to sharper image to exchange a purchase. Nothing major, the item cost about $20. This was on a Sunday the sales manager left me in the front of the store for about 20 minutes. Upon his return he told me he was instructed not to do business with me. I couldn't understand the reason for this and long story short, after an argument with the manager I left the store. I called their customer service department who told me they could not understand why the manager would do such a thing. Not only do they not have any policies that would support that...Customer service was closed on Sunday. After complaining to everyone all the way up to the corporate level, I never even got so much as a return phone call.  
 
Part Two:  
I had problems with a GPS system I bought from Sharper image. They told me to return it to them and they would replace it. I returned it with their shipping label and never received anything from them. A couple of weeks later I called them to follow up. They told me they received an empty box and could not help me any further. Now I'm out another $300 for a Megellan navigation system. This store could burn for all I care. Bankruptcy is too good for them.  
If you've got any sense at all you will never set foot on their property. They stink in every sense of the work.

Horrible customer service and slow shipping. I placed an order for a compact fan on 8/06 and it arrived over a week later. The fan was defective so I called to get it replaced. The customer rep said they would send me out another and just to throw away the old one. Two weeks later, I still have not received my new fan. I called in again and a different customer rep said that the fan was on back order and they were sorry they never notified me (Sounded like a load of BS.) The rep said that the item JUST came back in stock (Yeah, ok) and they would send out another right away. Their site never had the item listed on back order. I will never purchase anything from Sharper Image again.

My order was delayed without any communication. The order status was forever in a "Processing" state. I was unable to reach the company by phone. I sent two e-mails which went unanswered. I sent a third e-mail asking to cancel the order. That e-mail also went unanswered.  
 
Five days after I placed the order I received an automated e-mail saying my order didn't pass address verification. Five days is way too long. AVS is instantaneous. Something is definitely amiss with this company's online retail system. And five days is shipping gold during the holidays.  
 
I ordered through another company and had to boost shipping to next day because of this lousy service.

Absolutely the worst customer service I've experienced on the web.  
 
Ordered a piece of exercise equipment from their web site on 8/31, said expected ship date of 9/6. 9/11 comes and still says "Processing" on their web site. I call on 9/12 and the customer service rep. says it is still processing, will ship in a few days. I tell him to cancel it still, so he puts me on hold and then tells me it's now magically shipped and he cannot refund the price, but that I am suppose to refuse the shipment.  
 
Now, if it shipped, where is my tracking number? What a lie. I suspect that a chargeback will be in order.

Very clever scam.  
 
Ordered $250 worth of goods online. Used a $100 off $200 coupon. So far so good. Two out of the three items show up in a few days. Third item is out of stock, but no worries, an email states that i will receive the last item within 30 days. 60 days pass and no third item.  
I send in a complaint to their customer service asking for a refund for that item. They respond that because they subtracted the $100 coupon from that item (which cost $100), they owed me nothing since that item's cost was $0.  
So in affect, they attracted me to buy stuff with the coupon, but i ended up paying full cost.

I previously ordered from SharperImage. It was a okay if I recall correctly. This time around, it is totally different. I placed an order on 3/3/06. It is in Processing status for about a week. I called and was told that the product is not in stock. I waited and it was finally shipped on 3/10/06 - a Friday. I would expect it get to me within a week. It did not. The tracking information show no progress. I finally called them again on 3/20/06. The representative said he will ship another one out via UPS. I called again on 3/24/06 to trying to get a tracking number. I was notified that it is shipped via USPS instead UPS as stated by the 3/20 call. I started to get very upset and start to complaint about the slowness of this. He told me that the delay was due to address does not match the credit card - which is false and totally a lie, my first conversation with them was that the product is not in stock.  
I would not recommend ordering online with this store.  
I'm still waiting for my shipment.  
I called again on 3/28/06, this time the representative said the shipping partner that they are using is going out of business.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience. I suggest not buying from them online. I ordered on Feb 18th, and more than a week later, Feb 26, my order has still not shipped and shows "Processing" on the order status website. Their site says orders typically ship within 2 business days if in stock -- and my item was in stock. I have cancelled my order with them and will never order online again. If you wnat ANYTHING from Sharper Image, go to their brick and mortar stores. Their online service and ordering is terrible. So is their phone Customer Support. It had to jump through all kinds of loops to cancel my order. Eventually i got so frustrated and angry at the process that I had to threaten with legal action if my order was not cancelled. My refund has not yet turned up, So we'll see how long THAT takes.

TERRIBLE- Placed Christmas order on Dec 9th. Got confirm email telling me item should arrive by Dec 20th. Called CS after seeing order had not shipped a week later. I was told warehouse was out of stock but they would send item from their retail store. A few days order still has not shipped. CS tells me they can't track anything after they request it from a store, but they assure me it will arrive before Christmas. As of Dec 29th the order says canceled, but CS says its on the way. They lied to me to keep me from canceling the order. Bah-humbug

I tried to order a massage chair from Sharper image using the email with the $50 off $250 offer. I was unable to get the discount to show up. Called and a representative asked me to complete the order and call back in an hour in case the discount was not shown. Did so. New rep tells me that the discount does not apply and so I cancelled the order. She said a confirmation mail would be sent. None arrived ever.  
Meanwhile I tried again and this time the order and the discount goes through. For 3 days both orders show as processing and I am unable to get a response to emails and gave up after being on hold on the phone for hours  
Finally get through and get confirmation that my 1st order is cancelled and 2nd would be delivered in 10 to 15 days. After a few hours comes an email response indicating that my 2nd order has been cancelled -- they replied to my email which clearly has only the 1st order number. The product is now gone so all I have is the aggravation of dealing with them. Very poor follow up and customer service

They rejected to take the responsibilities for the problems they did!!!  
I ordered an Ionic Breeze Quadra Silent Air Purifier through in August 2004. And unfortunately, the product defected in Jan, 2005. I called then and asked for a RMA. Then the horrible nightmare just begins. They shipped my RMA back on 3/11/2005 to where I moved out. So I called them up to update the address in Arizona, and they said they will send it to me again. (So far so good). I had waited for two weeks and nothing came to my front door. I called them up again to find out the status of that RMA. They told me that they shipped it out to New Jersey!? How could that happen? I called them up again. THEY BLAMED ME ON CHANGING ADDRESSES AND NOT INTENT TO DO ANY INVESTIGATIONS!? They just told me to contact with UPS myself. Today 4/30/2005, I am still dealing with them my Air Purifier!!! Can you believe it that what SharperImage did to its customers?! BE WARE!!

Worst shipping experience I ever had. Order an audio system, when I got it, same day I found it was a defect. I called them; tech support said would drop me a shipping labor to ship back. meantime ship to me a some replacement.(that’s a big bullshit,don't ever believe that).I called back 3 times, wait 10 days then get a shipping labor, asked them where is my replacement. They always said they requested, but not prove yet. I still need to call them every day to get my audio replacement.  
If you purchase anything from sharper image, better pray don’t get a defect one. Otherwise prepare 2 months to deal with them. And remember don't believe what they promise you. Cause they are all bullshit.

Very slow to deliver so I refused the package. Now over a month later and they still have not credited my account. I'll never shop there again. This was my first and last experince with the Sharper Image.

Apparently this company has a serious problem dealing with customers properly. I have also experienced a problem recently with this company. I attempted to use a gift certificate to order one item. When I would not give out a piece of personal information that they do not need (which could have been used for telemarketing garbage), they tried contacting me. I responded back repeatedly through e-mails through one of their rep's. After only a couple of responses in politely refusing to give out that info., which no other company how ever big it was that may have asked for it, never had a problem with me not giving it to them, they quickly went to cancel the order. I started getting annoyed by that action, and informed them that they should pass this matter on to someone who has more authrity over such matters, but apparently it never sank in, and they continued to say that the order remained canceled. After which I informed them again that they should pass this matter on to someone else, and that if they did not want to honor their gift certificate that they should send me a check for the amount of the gift cert. to get my money. They continued to not do much of anything. I was then informed by someone else not affiliated with the company in any way that the home corporate office is responsible for the amount of the gift cert. that was issued to me, and that I should contact them. So I had to send out a letter with a copy of the cert., and this time I wanted nothing to do with this company anymore and wanted my money back immediately. I have yet to hear a response from them, but hopefully will soon, or may be forced into legal action against them. They do not know how to deal with customers or run their business properly! DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE AT ALL! And recommend to everyone you can contact to stay away from them and keep passing the message along. I can't seem to contact most of the other people here or many other places I have tried to check on this company about, so if you read this please contact me and maybe we can try and get a group together to stop these people from being so stupid and get some proper business action out of them.

After seeing a sale on the Sharper Image Website, I called to order a Sony AIBO robotic dog. I was told they were in stock. I ordered one and opted for overnight delivery.  
 
Next day: Since my order hadn't shipped, I called to see what was happening. I was told they were getting additional stock and that I should call back Monday for a tracking # - but my order should be processed by they end of the day Friday.  
 
Next Day - still seeing no movement on my order I called and inquired again. I was told there were NO Aibos in stock and that they would be getting NO more. I opted to still leave my order open in case.  
 
Next day (sunday) - my order mysteriously appeared on their site as being CANCELLED. I wrote an email about all this to the company.  
 
Monday - I called to request my tracking # assuming my order would be ready.. I was told again that there were NO AIBOs and that all the representatives I had talked to before had been mistaken! I was told that my order WOULD be cancelled now because they were NOT selling AIBOs anymore - EVEN though they still appeared on their website and you could order them. The lady was unwilling to help me any further.  
 
Monday NIGHT - Anita from Sharper Image sent me an email saying that they were waiting for an additional shipment from the warehouse and that my order would ship as soon as they got them!!!!  
 
Tuesday - I called again in the morning and asked WHAT was going on?!? I was told that the email was a (another) mistake and that there were NO AIBOs. I was offered a 50$ gift certificate.  
 
Now what?!? Could it possibly get worse? YES! I talked with other people online who ordered AIBOs from Sharper Image. One of them ordered his TWELVE hours after me and GOT his AIBO TODAY!!!  
 
What is going on??? So I'm stuck in this limbo where Sharper Image is willing to sell their products to everyone but me and I can't do anything about it. Should I file for discrimination?? :) STAY AWAY from Sharper Image....
