I ordered an Olympus xD type H Picture card. They sent the less expensive type M card but still want to charge for the type H card. They want me to pay for return shipping when it was they who sent the wrong card. I asked about exchanging the card they sent for the card that I ordered and they said that they do not have it in stock and don't know when they will get it. Their website still says "ready to ship" for the type H card even though they told me that they don't have it. It is definitely bait and switch.

Buyer BEWARE!!! Switch and Bait SCAM going on here with FLASHMEMORY-STORE
AVOID this online store at ALL COSTS--the costs in lost $$$money$$$, time, and aggravation will be your own.
Ordered an Olympus 1G xD card and was sent a Fuji card instead. The explanation was that the shipping department wasn't able to contact me "in time" that they had to substitute the product I ordered for another one. As if it should be up to the 'shipping department' to contact me about such a proposal--instead of sales or customer service--who would presumable be able to do this "in time"!?!?! The customer care rep I began to correspond with told me to try the wrong product sent--and THEN send it back if I wasn't satisfied. (The Fuji card does not suport functions on my camera.) Fine print reveals a hefty restocking charge for returned products which have been opened! And of course customer must pay return shipping--and is required to pay shipping for replacement...what Flashmemory-store calls "exchange." This is a simple Bait and Switch SCAM. If only I had read the terms of their site--allowing them to make substitutions for the lamest of excuses. Like others posting here, I also wish I had read the ratings on pages like this one. If you look at ratings pages, you'll find that all of the legitimate postings are negative, and that the one- and two-liners, obviosly sent in by company employees in blocks, bolster fraudulently inflated overall ratings.
Get into customer care correspondence and you'll encounter someone who calls himself Alex Koval, promising things. Doesn't call. Belated e-mails. Will not cover return shipment for wrong items sent.

I thought it might be a good idea to update this review so other customers will get an idea of what they are in for. Here it is December and after numerous inane email exchanges with the infamous "Alex", he finally agreed to replace the junk MMC card he'd sent me with the Transcend part I originally ordered. They sent me the same defective MMC that I had returned (a no-name defective part with holes in the edge-connector). I emailed him again and true to form, have received no response. I gave them a bad review on bizrate, but they still appear as "unrated". My suggestion is that all you other folks who have been cheated also contact bizrate (and other online ratings) to let them know what's going on. They have an extensive history of cheating and lying to customers. I don't plan on just letting this go and neither should anyone else who's been cheated. The only way this is going to stop is via a class-action lawsuit where they have to pay damages to each and every customer they've stolen money from.
original review:
This is not a complete review, because though I ordered a Transcend 2gB MMC card back in August, here it is November & I still don't have it. The first card they sent was defective, the first replacement was 256mB (not 2 gB), the 2nd replacement had a hole in the case and contact fingers and is slow to the point of comedy. Did I mention none were Transcend parts? I still haven't got a reply to my last 2 emails. I simply requested that they agree to send me what I paid for (can you imagine a customer being so unreasonable?). Best advice is to not do business with these folks. Avoid like the plague!
I ordered a 2GB Kingston SD memory card from these people and I have yet to receive it. I can't get in contact with the because their toll free # is just a voicemail!
On top of that, their confirmation e-mail said I should be charged 60.25 $CAD but instead I was charged 72.75 $CAD!!!
The e-mails I've sent have all gone unanswered. Even if I do receive my SD card, I will NEVER do business with them ever again.
Avoid like the plague!

I wish I had seen these reviews. I also just received a Qmemory card when I ordered a Kingston! what is this about? It took 2 weeks to get here - just at the outer end of what they promised. I bought the card to take on a trip to china so it is now probably too late to return it and get another one! I have emailed them and waiting for a response.

Ordered 2 small items on 10/09/2006. Got a fairly quick email acknowledgement. Since then NOTHING. Their order status link to UPS seems to show that UPS haven't even got the products yet. You can't phone them (other than just leaving a message), I have sent them an email asking what is going on. No answer yet. From what I have seen so far, I would not do business with them again.
Customer service/product tracking seems non-existent.

KEEP AWAY! I ordered a Kingston/Lexar memory card and received a Q-memory card - worth $35 less on their website. 2 weeks later, I am STILL trying to get in touch with them to return it. They do not respond to my emails. I am extremely disappointed to find AFTER I made the purchase that this retailer is known for doing this. What a scam!

Very unsatisfied with the store. I ordered my product Aug 17, they say that they ship same day if before a certain time, and if not then next day. They shipped my product 6 days later. Then the shipping took twice as long as advertised on their website. When I got it I recieved the wrong item. I ordered a Hitachi 250G External HD, but I got a Western Digital. They don't even sell Western Digital drives, how did that get in there? You be the judge. I checked around and Western Digital drives are cheaper than Hitachi if that gives you a hint. I asked them if I can have them take it back and they send me the right one. I was told yes but I would have to pay for shipping to send it back to them (not to mention I live in Canada so I had to pay customs an additional $13 on top of shipping). I complained and after a week they reply saying they will cover shipping but didn't mention anything about covering the second round through customs, yet I did ask about that but they didn't want to address it apparently. So i've been in a constant loop emailing them and not getting an answer for a week or later, currently I have been waiting for 2 weeks for their reply about refunding the second trip through customs. They say say day replies for all e-mails. Ive sent many "reminder" e-mails and got no reply. At this point I don't think i'll get to send them the item as they haven't even addressed me a return number that they require in order to send it back. I give this company a 0/10.

I purchased a portable HD with a free 64MB pen drive.
1st problem: the UPS tracking number did not work (I paid $8 for UPS). I sent a e-mail to complain about it, I got no answer
2nd problem: The free 64MB pen drive did not come ("back order"). I asked an estimate when it will come, I got no answer.
There is no way to speak to a live person.

I sure wish I had seen these lousy ratings before I ordered. I certainly will not deal with these prople again. Once bitten ...
I ordered portable disk drive and canceled the order the next day, prior to shipping. At least I thought I canceled (twice via phone messages and three times via e-mail). I got NO response. I left 4 messages for them to contact me, still NO response. Then 3 days later, I get an e-mail the order has been shipped. It appears that if you think you can contact them you are mistaken. My intention is to return the drive, once it arrives, and then dispute any restocking fee with my credit card company that these "businessmen" they try to stick me with.
Best advice: STAY AWAY, FAR, FAR AWAY!!!

I ordered a Lexar Jump Drive, and instead received a "Super Talent" flash drive. What a ripoff! The invoice clearly says "Lexar" but the product is a knock off. One phone call message and two emails have led to no response from this sorry excuse for a merchant.

They defrauded me. First they have a bizrate logo with 3 smile faces, and when I checked them out at bizrate.com they're not even rated yet.
Secondly, I ordered a Kingston Memory card, and they shipped me a Q memory card. They have yet to tell me that they shipped the wrong item.
Thirdly, I asked for a refund, sent the products back to them, and they didn't give me a full refund, they shorted me almost $10.

I ordered 2 2gig Kingston sd cards and received 2 no-named cards. After emailing them I returned the cards and also was charged a return fee. I contacted my credit card company which pointed out a phone number next to the charge that I should call. I did get a refund of the restocking fee. Please challenge the charges and restocking fee with your credit card company. It can't hurt and you may get your money back. I have learned at least one valuable lesson in all this. NEVER buy from an online store unless it has very good reviews. I wish I would of found about this site and Biz Rate's site before I bought anything from the Flash Memory Store.
IF THIS HELPS THIS IS THE PHONE NUMBER THAT WAS ON MY CREDIT CARD FOR THIS STORE;

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I ordered a 2G thumbdrive WITH priority 2-day shipping, because it was listed as "IN STOCK" on 5/5/06. After 3 weeks with no responses to their e-mail form, and nobody returning messages left at their business phone, I e-mailed again to cancel my order ONE MONTH LATER.
On 7/7/06, my Visa was charged for the drive, and it was FINALLY shipped to me (after retail price had dropped $20 *AND* I had tried to cancel my order.
I am now in the midst of a dispute through my bank to reverse the charges, as FlashMemoryStore won't even so much as return a phone call.

I have purchased items at this merchant before, It was a pleasure to deal with, so thats why I decided to make another purchase. I would like to see an 800 phone number to talk to them , rather than by email for any problems or questions that I might have. I am currently having a problem with one of the items that I purchased, but I am sure we will be able to resolve it soon. I would recommend them to everyone.
