I'm in need of an operable, 10/100 Network switch, with at least 5 ports.

** No hubs, please.

Do you want a hub? i have an extra one that ill give to you for $5 plus the shipping charge....not as good as a switch tho

Is the switch for home or for work?

With switches I think the brand name does speak quailty.. stick with Linksys, Nortel or Cisco.
