New Member, Quick Question???
Hello all, I am a new member just registered, I know I need some good refs before being trusted however I have a question of Policy....
I joined another forum yesterday, a different website. It was the first time I have ever registered with a forum type website. I immediately posted a few items for sale including a laptop and within an hour I was indefinately suspended from that website with no reason behind it. I assume it was because I have no refs and was selling a higher ticket item. Whatever the reason it was not made known to me, when I finally contacted the Mod on that site he simply said "Because, Thats why... Goodbye!"
Totally rude and uncalled for, I have done nothing wrong and did not intend on doing anything wrong, I even offered COD within the US.
My main question is this, How long should I be a member of this site until I can sell some things? I have legit products for sale, some new, some used but all guaranteed as described, I was hoping to get some extra cash before christmas but now it seems Im cutting it pretty close, probably wont even happen.
Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

we dont have a set period of time to do business here on the forum, but some members might be wary or doing business with new people. But if you offer some things people want at a good price some will give you a chance
if you give them your telephone number and offer COD you shouldnt have any problems with doing business here.
Hope it works out for you

Hey thanks, great to hear from a Mod up-front, I have no problem doing COD or giving my number to a potential customer. However I would only be willing to do COD with trusted traders, Gotta look out for myself still to.
Thank you

Welcome to TechIMO!
I've traded with people with no/minimal refs before and most deals worked out fine. People here are pretty open to trading with newcomers as long as you offer to ship first and/or maintain good communication throughout the deal. If you accept Payapl, it makes it easier too because payment is instantaneous and can be tracked. Good luck with your selling.

Not really no, I havent really done any selling online in a year or more... Been working more lately and owned a store for a while, Getting back into the online thing now though.
Ill get together a ref page though, I can probably scoop together a hundred or so people I have dealt with online for the past few years.
Does that work? SOme Ebay, Some other stuff to. and like I said, when completing a deal I have no problem exchanging phone numbers too.
Thanks again

Thanks Kc2iLq, I dont think I will be dealing with PayPal though, I havent decided yet, Also, of course Im weary of sending anything of great value first with no guarantee of payment, Like I said though, COD would work fine within the US, or shipping first to somebody extreamly trusted is a possibility to, maybe to someone with at least a couple thousand posts or haveing a Mod ref to go along with it.
Is that fair to ask? What criteria would be safe for me if I were to send first? Otherwise and preferrably I would much rather recieve payment before shipping to be safe, at the same time, I understand the "On the Other Hand" as well, where the customer needs to feel safe to.
All in All, I want everything to work out smooth in both directions with no problems, I would always ship with tracking, and would expect all transactions to be handled proffessionaly and smoothly.
Thanks again guys.

Its your stuff don't sell to anybody your not comfortble with period . But you have to realise that you might have to ship first to get a deal done . i know what ya mean about being burnt but you have to start somewhere . you might want to go to www.heatware.com and sign up so you can start an oline profile so people that do trade with ya can leave "feedback" .
like if i wanted you phone you have posted , i would only do the deal if you shipped first . COD wouldn't cut it for me , you could put a rock in a box . Not saying you would , but COD don't mean anything . For the most part if you have lower heatware than me i expect you to ship first . If i have lower heat i have no problem paying first . Now this is all if we haven't done any trading in the past , if we have then i am not as rigid ...
who am i kidding i ain't ever rigid ...
but welcome anyway and i hope ya hang around more than just to sell stuff . good to have new people to make this a better place to type .

Im looking for a forum I can stay with a long time and I hope this is the one.
Put a reply with an offer in my phone post if your interested, Lets make a deal.
