LED and SPKR connection wires in case

I always encounter this problem......when purchasing a new case and motherboard, sometimes the power LED wires in the case have a 3 pin wide plug on them, and the mobo only requires a 2 pin wide plug.....I am always haveing to replace the end of the wire with the correct plug. I usually get thees from other old cases. I sem to have encountered a problem.....I am all out of these 2 pin wide connectors! No more old cases....

Does anybody know where I can buy these?

Most motherboards will have alternate power LED pins for the old style 3 pin connectors look around on your board for one of these. If you don't have one just find a 2 pin connector and cut and splice the wires going to the power LED to the 2 pin connector and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the reply......

I already have been splicing the correct connector, the problem is this....

I have been getting the proper connector out of old pc cases.

Know I am all out of these extra connectors from old pc cases.

I would like to buy some of these. Does anybody know ehre to buy these, instead of cutting them out of old cases, in the event that you don't have an old case laying around?

In such cases, I have always been able to simply slide one of the wires over a notch.

In my experience, the plug configuration was like this:
[ ! - !]

and after sliding the wire over a notch..:
[ ! ! - ]

Unless the motherboard's pin layout prevents it, it should work fine.

Please do not post the same problem in multiple forums. I have merged your threads and moved them to the appropriate forums.

Sometimes if I am in a hurry, I just use a pair of scissors to cut right down the middle where the missing connector would be. Then you can turn the connectors 90 degrees and they will fit next to each other.

best is to just move over a wire....there will be a little plastic tab that locks the wire in the plug...just use a needle or very small flat blade screwdriver and gently pry it up while pulling the wire and it should just slide out then slide the wire into the next hole....problem solved....if the pins won't let the three wide plug fit just trim the plug down by cutting off the "third hole"
